With the mind-numbing international break out of the way, all eyes turn to the Premier League to assess whether any of the glittering new signings are worth a gamble on their debuts. Fantasy managers have so much to anticipate in Gameweek 4 – not least the damage that Robin van Perise can do in the early kick-off. Let’s cast an eye over Paddy Power’s assessment of the Dutchman, this week’s other likely scorers and the clean sheet hunt.

Anytime Goalscorer Odds – Gameweek 4

According to the traders in Power Tower, United are all set to rip into Crystal Palace. There are four of David Moyes’ squad in the top ten anytime scorers, including new boy Marouane Fellaini who is 11/8 to earn a debut goal.

Not surprisingly, it’s Van Persie who tops the list, however. With three goals for Holland over the break, he now has 18 strikes in his last 21 games for club and country and is 1/2 with Paddy to deliver the goods against Ian Holloway’s troops. Not good news for the Van Persie naysayers.

Roberto Soldado is the nearest rival to the United marksman and a player who will doubtless be carrying many an armband going into the White Hart Lane clash with Norwich. The Spaniard now has five goals in seven games for club and country since signing for Spurs. Soldado is 4/6 to score at anytime against the Canaries with Paddy.

Chelsea signing Samuel Eto’o is closer to a pension than puberty, but the Cameroonian striker is the most likely player to find the back of the net at any time in Chelsea’s clash with Everton. He can be backed at 15/8 to score a goal on his debut for Jose Mourinho’s side.

Frank Lampard scored twice on Merseyside in the corresponding fixture last season and has a goal, an assist and two clean sheets to his name already in this campaign. He’s at 23/10 with Paddy to notch in the Goodison clash – Theo Walcott, at 6/4 to score at Sunderland, is the only midfielder more fancied over the weekend fixtures. Paddy are refunding all losing first/last goalscorer, correct score and scorecast singles on this match should Lampard notch.

Clean Sheet Odds – Gameweek 4

TeamOdds
Man United1.72
Tottenham2.10
Man City2.10
Arsenal2.20
Southampton2.37
Hull2.70
Aston Villa2.80
Fulham2.80

Chelsea2.87

Just as Van Persie and Soldado dominate in the anytime scorer listing, it’s United and Spurs who rank top in the clean sheet odds. Paddy Power has David Moyes’ side at 8/11 to keep out newly promoted Palace, while Spurs are evens to rack up their third clean sheet of the season.

Despite the sizeable banana skin of a Britannia clash and the absence of Vincent Kompany in the back four, City are also well fancied here, with Arsenal not far behind as they look to shut-out Paolo Di Canio’s Black Cats at the Stadium of Light.

Goal-shy West Brom are the only side in the top flight not to score this season and face a testing trip to Craven Cottage. Fulham beat the Baggies 3-0 in this fixture last season and are 7/4 to keep a shut-out with Paddy Power. Martin Jol’s side are in the mix with Aston Villa and Liverpool, with Hull City and Southampton offering budget and mid-price options. The Tigers are 17/10 for a clean sheet at home to Cardiff, while the Saints are 11/8 with Paddy for a shut-out against Big Sam’s Hammers at St Mary’s.

If you’re new to Paddy Power, then you can take up any of these odds and get yourself a bonus. You can sign up via this site and get a free £20 when you register an account and bet a tenner.

Finally, of course, we should state that all these offers are only available to those aged 18 and over and are subject to Paddy Power’s terms and conditions. Also, if you’re going to bet, always gamble responsibly.

I'm not liking this article, it's basically only stating the odds available.
What was the name of the article done last year where there was a few flutters made and Paddy offered special odds on the selections?

4-4-1-1 looks pretty plausible though I think if Giggs played he'd play central.

thats a good point, his legs can't handle the wings no more, i do prefer 4-2-3-1, but i ain't the manager for a reason.

he's the closest we are gonna get to Ozil and give him time i think he will come good. If we play rooney on the wing, with kags in the middle, rooney can drift in as a rf to support RVP, and kags picks them out with a precise pass

Yeah I think Kags should blatantly be the central attacking playmaker, mystified why United are ignoring the solution to their problem right there. Problem is I think Rooney is wasted on the wing and just ends up being asked to do a lot of defending. Doesn't get to use his passing/vision/shooting talents nearly as well out wide as he does in the centre. Maybe he could play more centrally.

    Migs (Davis)
    Coleman, Chester, Zaba (Toure) (Ward)
Walcott, Coutinho, Silva, Mirallas (Rav Morrison)
    Giroud, Lambert, Soldado

    1) Silva -> Hazard or Oscar, Mirallas -> Ben Arfa - Difficult to call the chelsea midfield
    2) Silva -> Ben Arfa, Lambert -> Benteke - may come back to bite me if Lambert does well
    3) Mirallas -> Ben Arfa, Morrison -> Brady - improve squad overall and bench silva

    Hi guys,

I currently have Snodgrass (who's been woeful) and Lambert.

Which do I get rid of? Thinking Eriksen or Benteke.

Already have Spurs covered in Soldado. Lamberts fixture this week isn't that bad.

    Really unsure this week.

    A)Silva > Nani/Lampard + Anelka > Benteke/Giroud for a hit

    B)Silva > Nani/Lampard/Michu with Mirallas playing.

    C) Save transfer due to lack of options and play Mirallas & Nolan.

Got injury doubts over Sturridge/Toure/Amorebieta also.

    Any advice welcome.
