With the mind-numbing international break out of the way, all eyes turn to the Premier League to assess whether any of the glittering new signings are worth a gamble on their debuts. Fantasy managers have so much to anticipate in Gameweek 4 – not least the damage that Robin van Perise can do in the early kick-off. Let’s cast an eye over Paddy Power’s assessment of the Dutchman, this week’s other likely scorers and the clean sheet hunt.

Anytime Goalscorer Odds – Gameweek 4

Player Team Odds
Van Persie MUN 1.50
Soldado TOT 1.66
Hernandez MUN 1.90
Benteke AVL 1.90
Welbeck MUN 2.00
Aguero MCY 2.10
Sturridge LIV 2.10
Negredo MCY 2.29
Giroud ARS 2.29
Lambert SOU 2.29
Fellaini MUN 2.37
Kagawa MUN 2.50
Dzeko MCY 2.50
Walcott ARS 2.50
Bent FUL 2.70
Berbatov FUL 2.70
Osvaldo SOU 2.75
Eto’o CHE 2.87
Nani MUN 2.87
Erikisen TOT 2.87
Lamela TOT 2.87

According to the traders in Power Tower, United are all set to rip into Crystal Palace. There are four of David Moyes’ squad in the top ten anytime scorers, including new boy Marouane Fellaini who is 11/8 to earn a debut goal.

Not surprisingly, it’s Van Persie who tops the list, however. With three goals for Holland over the break, he now has 18 strikes in his last 21 games for club and country and is 1/2 with Paddy to deliver the goods against Ian Holloway’s troops. Not good news for the Van Persie naysayers.

Roberto Soldado is the nearest rival to the United marksman and a player who will doubtless be carrying many an armband going into the White Hart Lane clash with Norwich. The Spaniard now has five goals in seven games for club and country since signing for Spurs. Soldado is 4/6 to score at anytime against the Canaries with Paddy.

Chelsea signing Samuel Eto’o is closer to a pension than puberty, but the Cameroonian striker is the most likely player to find the back of the net at any time in Chelsea’s clash with Everton. He can be backed at 15/8 to score a goal on his debut for Jose Mourinho’s side.

Frank Lampard scored twice on Merseyside in the corresponding fixture last season and has a goal, an assist and two clean sheets to his name already in this campaign. He’s at 23/10 with Paddy to notch in the Goodison clash – Theo Walcott, at 6/4 to score at Sunderland, is the only midfielder more fancied over the weekend fixtures. Paddy are refunding all losing first/last goalscorer, correct score and scorecast singles on this match should Lampard notch.

Clean Sheet Odds – Gameweek 4

Team Odds
Man United 1.72
Tottenham 2.10
Man City 2.10
Arsenal 2.20
Southampton 2.37
Hull 2.70
Aston Villa 2.80
Fulham 2.80
Liverpool 2.80
Chelsea 2.87

Just as Van Persie and Soldado dominate in the anytime scorer listing, it’s United and Spurs who rank top in the clean sheet odds. Paddy Power has David Moyes’ side at 8/11 to keep out newly promoted Palace, while Spurs are evens to rack up their third clean sheet of the season.

Despite the sizeable banana skin of a Britannia clash and the absence of Vincent Kompany in the back four, City are also well fancied here, with Arsenal not far behind as they look to shut-out Paolo Di Canio’s Black Cats at the Stadium of Light.

Goal-shy West Brom are the only side in the top flight not to score this season and face a testing trip to Craven Cottage. Fulham beat the Baggies 3-0 in this fixture last season and are 7/4 to keep a shut-out with Paddy Power. Martin Jol’s side are in the mix with Aston Villa and Liverpool, with Hull City and Southampton offering budget and mid-price options. The Tigers are 17/10 for a clean sheet at home to Cardiff, while the Saints are 11/8 with Paddy for a shut-out against Big Sam’s Hammers at St Mary’s.

If you’re new to Paddy Power, then you can take up any of these odds and get yourself a bonus. You can sign up via this site and get a free £20 when you register an account and bet a tenner.

Finally, of course, we should state that all these offers are only available to those aged 18 and over and are subject to Paddy Power’s terms and conditions. Also, if you’re going to bet, always gamble responsibly.

So with arsenals fixtures being so very juicy the next few weeks, and the fact that Ozil will probably wont start this week. I feel as though we have forgotten someone...

    Cazorla

One of the premier mids in the PL, has great fixtures, will start this week against a woeful Sunderland squad, and a proven FPL stud.

So why aren't I seeing his name anywhere, in any RMT... at all?

I'm holding my FT for now, but if Ozil is confirmed out, Cazorla is a lock for me.

Giroud 50-50 as so many great forward options lately.

Ramsey - nope, dont agree. Yeah he is in good form but he has never been a solid FPL option.

Silva looks to be out for 2 weeks, so I would trade him out. HBA stats arent too bad, and you could do worse with 7.0

That said i would look to a set and forget premium mid ala Wally, Caz, Hazard, Coutinho et al

Interesting that not many people are suggesting that RVP will be rested this week as would normally be the case for an 'easy' home game before champions league. I guess Man U need a big win more than ever and Moyes would be mad to rest his best player at this time.

Not mad with Welbeck on form, Chicarito regularly does well when called on. RVP big gun cameo after 60 minutes if they're drawing or winning by 1 is possible, 30 minutes against a tired defence can wreak much havoc still.

I'd not be concerned if he only got 30 minutes, still likely to score well.

Could both be right as there are some good players to come in. But with all the negativity about MU I do think he needs a 3 or 4 nil to get the fans on side.

The main point was that normally this board would be inundated with RVP will be rested comments which seem thin on the ground this time

I would say so. Not like he's lacking match fitness. Think hell go straight in but don't think he's going to be the great fantasy prospect that he has been in the past. Time will tell I suppose

Why is no one punting on Ravel Morrison with Downing gone for 3 weeks. THe man has talent beyond words. 3 weeks to prove hes better than that slug Downing.

I'm preparing to take him out.

It's between Fellaini or Ben Arfa or Lampard.

Fellaini totally forgot about him being united midfielder now. An interesting option. Do we think he's gaurenteed a start?

Guaranteed to start but I'd imagine he will slot in alongside Carrick so not a great fantasy prospect

Agreed re alongside Carrick but I assume slightly further forward more like YaYa? Could get his noggin on quite a few of RVPs corners??

I'm toying with Lamela, bit punty but two strong fixtures and a real goal scorer
