With the mind-numbing international break out of the way, all eyes turn to the Premier League to assess whether any of the glittering new signings are worth a gamble on their debuts. Fantasy managers have so much to anticipate in Gameweek 4 – not least the damage that Robin van Perise can do in the early kick-off. Let’s cast an eye over Paddy Power’s assessment of the Dutchman, this week’s other likely scorers and the clean sheet hunt.

According to the traders in Power Tower, United are all set to rip into Crystal Palace. There are four of David Moyes’ squad in the top ten anytime scorers, including new boy Marouane Fellaini who is 11/8 to earn a debut goal.

Not surprisingly, it’s Van Persie who tops the list, however. With three goals for Holland over the break, he now has 18 strikes in his last 21 games for club and country and is 1/2 with Paddy to deliver the goods against Ian Holloway’s troops. Not good news for the Van Persie naysayers.

Roberto Soldado is the nearest rival to the United marksman and a player who will doubtless be carrying many an armband going into the White Hart Lane clash with Norwich. The Spaniard now has five goals in seven games for club and country since signing for Spurs. Soldado is 4/6 to score at anytime against the Canaries with Paddy.

Chelsea signing Samuel Eto’o is closer to a pension than puberty, but the Cameroonian striker is the most likely player to find the back of the net at any time in Chelsea’s clash with Everton. He can be backed at 15/8 to score a goal on his debut for Jose Mourinho’s side.

Frank Lampard scored twice on Merseyside in the corresponding fixture last season and has a goal, an assist and two clean sheets to his name already in this campaign. He’s at 23/10 with Paddy to notch in the Goodison clash – Theo Walcott, at 6/4 to score at Sunderland, is the only midfielder more fancied over the weekend fixtures. Paddy are refunding all losing first/last goalscorer, correct score and scorecast singles on this match should Lampard notch.

Clean Sheet Odds – Gameweek 4

Just as Van Persie and Soldado dominate in the anytime scorer listing, it’s United and Spurs who rank top in the clean sheet odds. Paddy Power has David Moyes’ side at 8/11 to keep out newly promoted Palace, while Spurs are evens to rack up their third clean sheet of the season.

Despite the sizeable banana skin of a Britannia clash and the absence of Vincent Kompany in the back four, City are also well fancied here, with Arsenal not far behind as they look to shut-out Paolo Di Canio’s Black Cats at the Stadium of Light.

Goal-shy West Brom are the only side in the top flight not to score this season and face a testing trip to Craven Cottage. Fulham beat the Baggies 3-0 in this fixture last season and are 7/4 to keep a shut-out with Paddy Power. Martin Jol’s side are in the mix with Aston Villa and Liverpool, with Hull City and Southampton offering budget and mid-price options. The Tigers are 17/10 for a clean sheet at home to Cardiff, while the Saints are 11/8 with Paddy for a shut-out against Big Sam’s Hammers at St Mary’s.

Read an article after his Carling Cup game and Big Sam was bigging him up but being cautious but he did say that it would take an injury or a ban to open up a gap for Ravel and then it would be up to him to take his chance. Was really happy with his progress and willingness to work for the team.
I can't see him not giving him the chance now there's an opening.

Thing with Coleman is he's very good at getting forward too, rediscovering his form under Martinez with more of a license to roam forward so your going to have the defensive points + the added bonus of assists/goals too. In my opinion!

I own every player there you named.. But:

I'd go with Coutinho instead of Eriksen, as Coutinho is proven and already nailed on, and apparently playing behind the strikers with the acquisition of Moses to play the flank. Eriksen could start well and you'd get the jump on everyone, and he is 1m cheaper, but that's a gamble if you feel lucky.

I'd go Benteke, as he's proven he can score against anyone, and is playing at home, and you have Arsenal coverage with Walcott. But bear in mind they're playing a team managed by Di Canio!

Exactly, with Sunderland's fragile confidence, Arsenal could do damage

Very true, I have Walcott, Koscielny, and Giroud.. But am well aware that this is Arsenal we're talking about, and they can be exceedingly frustrating when you expect them to come up with the goods! To be honest, there probably isn't much in it between Benteke and Giroud. I think both will get a good haul this week; hence why they're both in my team 🙂

Coming off a WC - let me know if I've finally got it.

        Migs (Harper)

        Vert Zab JoseE (Coleman/Faye)

        Wally Lamps Erikson Brady (Barkley)

        Benteke(C) Giroud(V) Negredo

BANK: .5 left for any adjustments next week

Only possibility I can think of is to change Brady Barkley for Pablo Hernandez/4.4 or 4.5 guy, but Hull's fixtures are near perfect.

The way ManU look, I just can't see the benefit of RVP at 4+ more than other big time strikers.

Nothing wrong with that defence. There will be clean sheets amongst that lot and bonus points will follow.

Looks good. I would get a 4.5 over Hernandez tbh. Use it toward another defender.

Maybe Evra? I know you fancied him earlier this week.

Thought about that but i might want to get someone like sessegron in a week or two , and if i tie money in defence wont be able too . There also a chance of getting more rises from hernandez , so might keep him in

Andre Wisom. Nailed on RB for the next 3-4 weeks for Liverpool.

Worth considering for those on WC.

or Ilori the whippet. He is good and fast enough to play RB. Broke Ronaldo's sprint record at Sporting Lisbon apparently?

I wouldnt be soooo sure about that. As a Liverpool supporter I expect Ilori or Toure to maybe fill in a couple of games at RB.

I fancy Wisdom to start vs Swansea though.
