Having failed to score in Arsenal’s first four fixtures, Theo Walcott’s start to the season has been a major disappointment. While Olivier Giroud racks up the goals, the Gunners winger has yet to get off the mark and with Mesut Ozil and Aaron Ramsey offering alternatives across the price points in the Fantasy games, Walcott’s case for inclusion in our five-man midfields hasn’t exactly been a convincing one.

With Arsene Wenger’s side primed for a superb run of fixtures which sees them face just two of last term’s top six in the next 10 Gameweeks, investment in Arsenal’s main assets seems a sensible tactic. Bearing this in mind, in this latest members article, we delve into the data and assess Walcott’s displays for the season in comparison to the previous campaign.

      That is basically the team i'm planning but I will have HBA instead of Michu/Eriksen and it leaves me with enough money in the bank to do Sturridge -> Suarez if needs be..

        That's a good plan as well. Settled on Studge for the time being myself. And i've never really rated HBA as a constant scorer. Hence he has no room in my team. Going to need a lot of luck and differentials after my abysmal start.

    Extremely disappointed with the UCL game. You'd think that after the same farce happening the last few years UEFA could get a decent server by now.

    Couldn't get in to ship Bernard & Maxi Periera. Wanted to get Luisao who raked up the points last night. Did manage to get Kolarov but it wouldn't load the team page and he was left on my bench! Might just give up now (like every year)

        I had Alaba until last night, when I came on here last night and I saw a post saying what I thought was "Alaba is unavailable for the first game" only to then find out at 7:48 I had miss read it. It actually said "Alba is unavailable" so I missed 17 points 🙁

      I'm not sure if I understand option A? You would use 2 transfers to make a 'profit'? How much profit? I doubt Sturridge will rise enough to make you more than 0.1

      And if you were to get Sturridge, how could you sell him ahead of Sunderland away, followed by Palace at home?

    Currently languishing around the 1.1m mark after a poor start, and need some advice as to whether you think I should WC this lot (coutinho injury is a factor).

    Current team for GW5 having already spent an early FT on bringing in HBA is:

    Boruc (Davis)

    Turner / Cole / Collins (Shaw, Chester)

    Walcott / HBA / Brady / Jedinak (Coutinho)

    RVP / Soldado / Giroud

    If WC'ing I'd be looking at something like:

    Boruc / 4.0

    Evra / Vert / Shaw / Williams / Wilson

    Walcott / HBA / Moses / Eriksen / Jedinak

    I know I have missed out on price rises earlier this week but feel I need to take action now to stop the rot.

        Moses is nailed on now, especially since Cou is out. Toure may play RB and BR will be reluctant to drop him due to his leadership and presence. This is coming from an LFC fan, btw.

        Lukaku is hardly a punt. He will go straight in the team, considering the loan fee they shelled out.

        Baker was already in my team and his value dropped so no point in getting rid.

            toure out, he is a good shout but you can't be sure he starts and if he doesn't v southampton you will need to make that transfer straight away just to save you losing value. Get someone like collins or possibly fonte/lovren but I see you have boruc so probably not best to double up.

            Midfield looks good

            Not sure on lukaku, could be a great pick but how sure is he of starting every game with kone back. Could be a good punt although I wouldn't pick him

    All this love for michu but nobody even contemplating europa league burnout. Plus the size of swansea's squad you would expect michu to even start in the league cup. That's ALOT of games yet michu love is rampant.

        I can afford him but don't see the fascination. He wasn't overly impressive v Liverpool or any times I have seen him in the league.

        Playing up front if bony is injured hurts him as a prospect if we look at last seasons stats and playing behind bony doesn't help him I think as he keeps trying to feed him but bony fails.

        Just my opinion but I think as an overall pick michu is not great due to tiredness of games, at 8.9m he is also rather expensive

          The same can be said about Rooney. But people are clambering all overthemselves to make the switch from RvP to the pig.

          Michu 16 points so far.
          Rooney 19 points so far.

          Not a huge difference in points AND 1.6m more expensive AND ties up a FWD spot (when there are 3 regular performers) and there aren't many performing mids atm.

      Most people are doing Cout > Michu

      Other options are:

      Walcott @ 9.5 - most people already own
      Silva @ 9.4 - injured
      Hazard @ 9.3 - Rotation + Not firing
      Y. Toure @ 9.0 - Plays deep
      Lamela @ 9.0 - Not seen enough
      Gerrard @ 9.0 - Plays deep
      Navas @ 8.7 - Not firing
      Oscar @ 8.6 - Rotation
      Willian @ 8.5 - Seen nothing
      Fellani @ 8.5 - Plays deep
      Lamps @ 8.2 - Rotation + fairly deep (mostly) although lots people already have him anyway.
      Eriksen @ 8.1 - Played 1 game, looked good, but still only 1 game against a terrible Norwich performance.

      If you don't have money banked to switch to Ozil (who still has only 1 game played) the move to Michu is the obvious (less punty) move.
