With leagues across Fantasy Premier League (FPL), Sky Sports and Sun Dream Team there is plenty to catch up on following the international break. We look at those who have excelled during Gameweek 5 and those who are a little richer after having a great week in our PlayON game.

Fantasy Premier League

We have a new entry straight in at top spot in the Fantasy Premier League (FPL) game. Hemant Gosavi racked up 57 points last weekend, with Chelsea duo Oscar and John Terry both returning double-figure hauls, while Swansea’s Ben Davies and Arsenal’s in-form Aaron Ramsey also produced as Hemant clinched fifth spot in the overall standings, with 378 points so far.

Tarik Alibou sits in second after a Gameweek 5 score of 59. Seven of his players scored five points or more, with Yaya Toure, Per Mertesacker, Ross Barkley and Davies his chief protagonists. Stuart Hartley slips to third despite double-figure hauls from both Michu and Mesut Ozil in midfield, Ed C rockets into fourth in the Scout league after an incredible 82 points last weekend and Hafisi Nazir completes the top five, sitting on 359 points overall. Thanks to the efforts of our featured managers, Fantasy Football Scout remains at the top of the best leagues – the code to join is 1580-1106.

Wasana Busby moves to the top of the Fantasy Football Scout Members league with an overall score of 340 – Barkley, Toure, Terry and Jan Vertonghen all delivered last weekend. Corey Silveira slips to second after a 40-point haul in Gameweek 5, while Ivan Heneghan is a new entry in third spot – Per Mertesacker and Michu were his main performers from the previous weekend’s action.

In the Contributors and Moderators league, Andy is back at the top, with his faith in big-money defenders Vertonghen and Leighton Baines proving a wise decision. Big Dunc moves into second after playing his wildcard – the decision to captain Ozil harvested 28 of his 65 points in Gameweek 5.

Sky Sports Fantasy Football

Nick Whitrid remains in pole position in our Sky Sports league. Having reached the summit last week, he has now moved 22 points ahead of second-placed Leo Reid on 435 points; Nick in joint-sixteenth in the overall standings. In third place in the Scout league is Josie O’Neil, who is four points off Leo on 409 points. The winner of our Sky league, which is top of the league of leagues, wins £1,000. To join, visit Sky Sports Fantasy Football and key in League Name: FFScout, League Code: 8000112.

The Sun Dream Team

Lee Walpole remains at the top of our Sun Dream Team with a score of 431 points – his ploy to load up on six Spurs and three Arsenal players has certainly proven the correct tactic so far. Paul Williams is back in second on 397 points – all 11 of his players are from Tottenham – while John David Nicol takes third spot, with all but two of his players representing the north London duo. To join visit The Sun Dream Team, league name: Fantasy Football Scout, password: ReWOZhn1T1 and PIN: 8061654.

PlayON

Chris Robinson was the winner of PlayON’s £1,000 guaranteed game last weekend. He picked up a haul of £300 thanks to his decision to load up on three of Chelsea’s backline and Leighton Baines, while Stephane Sessegnon, Bacary Sagna and Yohan Cabaye – all highlighted in our picks article last week – ensured Chris was in the money. Tony Biswas earned second spot and a cash prize of £200, while Lionel Payne’s third place finish resulted in a £119 pay-out.

In our exclusive Fantasy Football Scout PlayON £2 game a total of £114 was on the table. Chris Robinson cleaned up here, too, earning £39.74, while Paul Thornden (£26.64) and Jason Turner (£20.16) took second and third spot respectively.

          Or you can say coleman + sturridge instead of baines and van wolf.... in that case colemans much better.. that 2.5 else where can definitely make up the difference

        not sure

        bonus system loves Baines without the goals

        midfield options are tough this season and bonus system hates midfielders (with the exception of Ozil which is a pretty high standard on passing accuracy and assisting to hold midfielders to)

        i dont think so. coleman relies only on assists & goals as in not bonus for ordinary clean sheets. 10 clean sheets from now on and baines is 20-30 ahead. add to that the goals and assists baines is gonna get --- i think he's worth the price over coleman

        I was looking at Colemans stas yesterday. He's getting forward plenty, and getting lots of chances in the box.

        I'll give him a few more weeks before adopting the quintessential Baines owners "but he's a midfielder, really" approach

      Sooo confused on this decision esp on a WC as it impacts the rest of your team.

      - On a CS basis, baines will outscore coleman by 25 points over the long run
      - On an assist basis, i think both have assist potential but baines will get 10 more points
      - On a goal basis, i reckon coleman to get 3 goals from openplay and baines to get 6 from pens so thats 18 points

      In total the diff between them around 50 points max i reckon. on a "value" basis,
      Baines: 200/7.6 = 26 points per million
      Coleman: 150/5.3 = 28 points per million....assuming you had coleman from start

      Thoughts?

      same dilemma (Barkley vs. HBA)

      i've gotten answers to questions about what to do, and nothing really has stood out except i'm not comfortable with either

      so now i'm switching the lineup around, then looking at it again in a few hours to see what looks right

      not a very good sign for HBA that Barkley at home is an equal option to him

      Heard a lot on here question Ferdinand selection, but I own him & am very happy with him. Picks up the bonus with his short simple passing, gets rested for cup games & is a (fairly) permanent fixture in a (fairly) mean Utd DF.

      Yeh he'll miss the odd game for sure, but as long as u have a half decent back-up (Collins for me) then it shouldn't hurt too much

    Boruc (Davis)
    Coleman Toure Reid (Collins Murner)
    Michu(vc) Mirallas Barfa Brady (Wally)
    Rooney(c) Soldado Giroud
    0.8 in the bank

    Would take Wally out this week but i'd have to bench one of those midfield studs which looks pointless 🙂

    Who used their WC already and is very jealous of those posting their RMWC teams 🙁

    Really feel mine was wasted too, considering I'm already taking hits to replace Bentekke & Wally. Plus huge question mark over RVP which might lead me to a -8 only two weeks after I played my WC.

    This has been the toughest year I can remember. Not sure exactly why mind you (bonus point changes?, established stars not performing- RVP, Wally, Coutinho etc.... MF doing nothing?).

    Anyway I'll do very well to beat my highest ranking now (languishing over 1mil mark)

      I played my wc same time as you, now have the same players (Chester, Benteke, Walcott, RVP) out and JWP turning into 1 pointer. I even have Whittaker losing his place too.

      Yes I am jealous over not being able to pick the players I want now, but thinking back, still think I made the right decision.

      My wc team then gained 20-30 pts more in gw4 then if I hadn't wc, with a decent gw5. Did well in gaining tv then too -103.6mil now. I had to correct my novice mistake (1st time playing fpl) in knee jerk transfers on the very first night matches were on, ended up double norwich defenders and double everton midfielders. Very weak team.

      I think many who wc last GW fared much worse, without gaining much points due to the injuries.

      I am also glad to see so many wc this week, including most ppl I am following (last yr fpl #1 and #2), as it removes uncertainty of others wc and gaining a surge in points in DGWs later. Now I know we are on an equal footing (no more wc), and I can truly measure how well/badly I am doing.

      Bring on GW6, I don't have my ideal team now, but I can slowly mould it, and despite the massive decimation of my team, I can see a backbone I can work with thanks to my wc previously.

      Chin up, we'll do great!

      Played mine in the int. break, but my WC was specifically 'deisgned' to raise some dosh to get RVP in

      I got him in, and transferred him out this week for Rooney.

      The whole DF BAPs issue has clouded the what is a good team issue, so I think they're all a bit early TBH, though there have been so many injuries this week that it makes sense to use it now

        Wouldn't say RVP being out could be described as a win in any way. Fair enough Ravel is not the worst player to come in but he stimulus playing in a goal shy team with a tough fixture, plus MFers are not getting the boners this year.

        If RVP is out then Roon is coming into my team (Collins is my back-up for RVP 😕 )

    Morning fellas, best option here, and why if possible.... thanks

    A) Chester -> Baines
    B) Walcott -> Michu
    C) Soldado -> Rooney

    I'd be benching Morrison in A and B this week.

    Swaying towards A at the moment, mainly because it's the only option that ticks all the below boxes:

    i) The player I'm losing has a longer term injury
    ii) I'm not overly fussed whether I ever get back the player I'm losing
    iii) The player I'm getting gives a decent captaincy option this week
    iv) The player I'm getting has a good fixture this week

    Boruc
    Terry, Zaba, Toure
    Mirallas, Ramsey, Nolan, Morisson
    Soldado, Sturridge, Giroud

    Davis, Ward, Chester, Walcott

        Current plan is:
        GW6: Chester -> Baines
        GW7: Save
        GW8: Toure & Nolan -> Wilson & Michu

        So I'd be getting Michu in for his great run of fixtures

        Is he essential for ARS, sot? He could always do well, but the chances of big scores are quite unlikely in those 2 fixtures imo.

        Baines(c) this week if I go A. Cue a missed pen...

        Yeah, I've ummed and aaahed over taking a hit this week, but I'm not sure Michu is worth it given he has 2 tricky fixtures up next. He's in my plans for GW8 (as Nolan's replacement)

        If Toure starts (which I expect he will) then he has a decent chance of a CS against a team really struggling at the moment.

        Yeah, that's a fair point. If Walcott was out for more than 2 weeks then I'd be all over B. But, I still think he's the best midfielder to have in the game, so whilst his loss of value (guessing 0.2-0.3) is annoying, I think benching for 2 weeks isn't a disaster given I'd be bringing him straight back once fit.

        I guess I'm just not convinced at any mids this week who have both form and fixtures!

          I think Michu could become near essential, and his price is only gonna go up. If Baines hadn't got two goals this week, would you still be all over him? It has a bit of a chasing points feel to it - yeah, he's bloody good obviously but he's not gonna get two goals every week.

            I agree - Michu and Walcott (when fit), closely followed by Ozil are the best mids in the game right now imo.

            Thing with Baines is he seems to be nailed for at least 2 BPs whenever EVE get a clean sheet, and they have 3 great fixtures in the next 4. He's top of the charts and hasn't had a pen yet either. I dunno, I think with Lukaku playing he'll get a few more assists too. I'll have both I think, just think Michu can wait 2 weeks (due to fixtures) and with planning I can lose Nolan rather than Walcott to get him.

              Yeah, fair enough, I guess.

      Still A for me. Clear improvement and best use of the fund ITB.

        Yeah, I think it's the right move. Would you give him the armband too?
