With leagues across Fantasy Premier League (FPL), Sky Sports and Sun Dream Team there is plenty to catch up on following the international break. We look at those who have excelled during Gameweek 5 and those who are a little richer after having a great week in our PlayON game.

Fantasy Premier League

We have a new entry straight in at top spot in the Fantasy Premier League (FPL) game. Hemant Gosavi racked up 57 points last weekend, with Chelsea duo Oscar and John Terry both returning double-figure hauls, while Swansea’s Ben Davies and Arsenal’s in-form Aaron Ramsey also produced as Hemant clinched fifth spot in the overall standings, with 378 points so far.

Tarik Alibou sits in second after a Gameweek 5 score of 59. Seven of his players scored five points or more, with Yaya Toure, Per Mertesacker, Ross Barkley and Davies his chief protagonists. Stuart Hartley slips to third despite double-figure hauls from both Michu and Mesut Ozil in midfield, Ed C rockets into fourth in the Scout league after an incredible 82 points last weekend and Hafisi Nazir completes the top five, sitting on 359 points overall. Thanks to the efforts of our featured managers, Fantasy Football Scout remains at the top of the best leagues – the code to join is 1580-1106.

Wasana Busby moves to the top of the Fantasy Football Scout Members league with an overall score of 340 – Barkley, Toure, Terry and Jan Vertonghen all delivered last weekend. Corey Silveira slips to second after a 40-point haul in Gameweek 5, while Ivan Heneghan is a new entry in third spot – Per Mertesacker and Michu were his main performers from the previous weekend’s action.

In the Contributors and Moderators league, Andy is back at the top, with his faith in big-money defenders Vertonghen and Leighton Baines proving a wise decision. Big Dunc moves into second after playing his wildcard – the decision to captain Ozil harvested 28 of his 65 points in Gameweek 5.

Sky Sports Fantasy Football

Nick Whitrid remains in pole position in our Sky Sports league. Having reached the summit last week, he has now moved 22 points ahead of second-placed Leo Reid on 435 points; Nick in joint-sixteenth in the overall standings. In third place in the Scout league is Josie O’Neil, who is four points off Leo on 409 points. The winner of our Sky league, which is top of the league of leagues, wins £1,000. To join, visit Sky Sports Fantasy Football and key in League Name: FFScout, League Code: 8000112.

The Sun Dream Team

Lee Walpole remains at the top of our Sun Dream Team with a score of 431 points – his ploy to load up on six Spurs and three Arsenal players has certainly proven the correct tactic so far. Paul Williams is back in second on 397 points – all 11 of his players are from Tottenham – while John David Nicol takes third spot, with all but two of his players representing the north London duo. To join visit The Sun Dream Team, league name: Fantasy Football Scout, password: ReWOZhn1T1 and PIN: 8061654.

PlayON

Chris Robinson was the winner of PlayON’s £1,000 guaranteed game last weekend. He picked up a haul of £300 thanks to his decision to load up on three of Chelsea’s backline and Leighton Baines, while Stephane Sessegnon, Bacary Sagna and Yohan Cabaye – all highlighted in our picks article last week – ensured Chris was in the money. Tony Biswas earned second spot and a cash prize of £200, while Lionel Payne’s third place finish resulted in a £119 pay-out.

In our exclusive Fantasy Football Scout PlayON £2 game a total of £114 was on the table. Chris Robinson cleaned up here, too, earning £39.74, while Paul Thornden (£26.64) and Jason Turner (£20.16) took second and third spot respectively.

Do the panel think that Rafael will now be back in the team?

I think he'll be first choice, but I don't see the reason to risk him when you have Vidic. He's got more attacking threat but Vidic attracts more bonus I reckon.

On the other hand Moyes loves attacking full backs.
Evra has posted good stats, so I fancy the young Brazilan to do similar.
Vidic does like to pick up and injury.

Possibly not this week as he's only just back but after that he's as nailed on as Evra or Vidic IMO.

That's my current points versus same time last year!! Obviously, though a couple of low scoring weeks, there's higher scoring going on this year. Take last week - the average was 47 - very high for a low score week!

Morning Dogba. How's the season for you so far? I've had a bit of a stinker, hence the WC!
Agreed on Wilson and Clyne, they're both in my WC; other 3at the moment are Vidic, Zaba and Walker. Don't know whether to put Burner in for one of those 3 or take out Ramsey to bring in Mert...

Going great, 37k or so overall now. Was lucky with my initial team holding up well.

Vidic Zaba Walker sounds good to me, but very expensive. I'd maybe ditch one for Burner for one of those three so I didn't bench too much £. Looking at fixtures Zab is the obvious choice to ditch.

If you can field 11 and would have to take a hit to get rid of either, I can see the thinking. Wally and RVP are great fantasy assets, but I'm unsure about Silva's potential. Then again, you picked him for a reason in the first place, so I assume you have faith in the little magician.

I suggested Fellani here last night as a viable short term replacement for Walcott but it did not go down too well judging by the feedback i got.

The reasons I think he will do well are
    a) If RVP doesnt play he may be pushed into an advance role like his Everton days last year
    b) Utd's fixtures are excellent
    c) he is a threat from set pieces
    d) he is rested this week
    e) he will probably want to prove himself to the utd home fans over the next few weeks

Now the question here is....am I an idiot for getting him in?

Hernandez has been benched all year, Welbeck started well but has done nothing since and he will play behind Rooney.

      c) So is Vidic but I'm not buying him for his attacking threat.

It's a wild punt but could work out if you get lucky. I would much prefer Michu, Oscar or even Yaya to Fellaini.

Current WC draft is looking like:

        Ming (Mcgregor)
        Mert, Coleman, Shaw, Kolarov, Wilson
        Erikson, Michu, Barkley, Ozil, Morrison
        Rooney, Lukaku, Giroud

Would have to down grade defence to get in either Suarez or Agureo

Depends how much you want to spend. Giroud seems a steal at that price, but obviously Aguero and Suarez will do well. Suarez seems the safe bet considering fixtures and the fact that they have NO Europa League or even League Cup fixtures to worry about rotation.

I went Ozil as my Walcott replacement and I'm sort of... regretting it a bit at the moment. Ozil and Michu in the midfield really limits your spending up top and in the defense. I'm really not sure if he's worth the insane price tag, but I guess we will see in the coming 4 GWs or so.

I'm just panicking about my defense in GW7 and GW8 I guess. Plan was to do Brayford -> Clyne/Wilson this GW but I had to use both FTs on Wally and Benteke instead. Now I don't have money to upgrade Brayford, so Collins will have to go next GW instead. Unless an amazing 4.1M option emerges.

Nah, just take this GW on the chin, don't take any more hits and Turner will come in if RVP doesn't. If he isn't fit for the GW, he'll be back next GW. Save you a -4 over ditching him this week, then you can start fixing your bench or whatever next GW.

no way. WC have to be used at the start of a GW plus your team looks perfectly good to me. How much is your most expensive 'dead' player?

      How much would you change?

The defence is solid, midfield is a bit lacking in heavy hitters but they are decent picks.

I wouldn't expect a great week but I'd hold it.

    Boruc Myhill
    Evra burner wilson williams XXX
    Michu erikson brady Ramsey XXX
    Rooney Giroud XXX

    A: Coleman Oscar Sturridge
    B: Coleman Miralas Suarez
    C: Baines Arunatovic Sturridge
D: Baines barkley suarez…will have to downgrade Williams > clyne for this

C and D makes the mid look weak on paper as I will need to play 2 of brady/ramsey/arunatovic every week BUT they appear to rotate well
A and B creates a much more balanced squad but will have to bench one of brady/ramsey this week

    Leaning towards B! 🙂

Any of the scout contributors about - what has happened to Facer? I would love to see those injury-prognosis articles return that we saw last year, especially after the spate of recent high-profile injuries. I mentioned it last night on the site and it seems I am not the only one. Are there any plans afoot for this? Thanks.

Problem with Facer is that if he is wrong & the player returns early then everyone complains. Might have happened once last season.

That's their own fault if they take what he says as gospel. I think the more information people have to use for their decisions the better. You could use the same rationale to say that you don't want to make any scout picks or pick a watchlist.

Completely agree. It was just an informative article that you should use in making a decision about players. It was not supposed to be the 'final word'.

Rooney. Home advantage, LFC is on a three game winless streak and hasn't scored the last two in a row.

Are you sure..? What happened with Frank statement than:

"We predicted a fall for Benteke last night (Wed) which didn't happen. We believe he will either drop tonight or certainly by tomorrow night. Once we see what happens we will adjust our algorithms accordingly"

So I am basically screwed..? Damn I miss 0.1m

          Same. Cognac.

It's one fixture... and it's at home. I'd go Eriksen to be honest. I went Ozil and I'm kinda sweating the decision because now I have no money for defense or strikers.
