We arrive at Gameweek 6 clutching our first Flutter winnings of the season. Last time out we staked £3 on Michu to notch a third strike in a week, coupled with a Swansea clean sheet at Crystal Palace, and, at last, wiped the smile off Paddy Power’s face. Our confidence boosted, we’ve focused on red-hot Rooney and a couple of heavily backed midfield prospects that found themselves just missing out on Scout Pick selection.

First, we stop off at Old Trafford to find Wayne Rooney in bloom and in demand. The United striker has enjoyed a 0.3 price rise in the Fantasy Premier League (FPL) this week as a result of four goals in three matches prior to the midweek Capital One Cup tie. As we saw when we looked at Paddy’s odds earlier this week, Rooney and United are strongly tipped to put Steve Clarke’s West Brom to bed in Saturday’s three o’clock encounter and, with Robin van Persie’s degree of involvement still uncertain following typically cryptic messages from David Moyes, Rooney looks the most likely architect of their destruction. Paddy are offering 6/1 on Rooney to score two or more goals with a United clean sheet against the Baggies. We’re happy to back the man in form to the tune of £3 of our stake.

Our next two markets concern players who were on the cusp of the Scout Picks this week, only to be ousted at the last. Like Rooney, Arsenal’s Aaron Ramsey has form on his side and has been backed by an overwhelming tide of FPL investment in recent weeks. He travels to Swansea as a slight injury doubt but off the back of seven goals this term, four in his last three outings. If he plays, he’s likely to be in the mix for the Gunners – reason enough to carefully consider Paddy’s odds of 10/1 on a Ramsey goal with an Arsenal clean sheet against the Swans. We’ll lay down £2 of our tenner on this one.

Everton’s Kevin Mirallas is lined up for our final market. Robbed of his Scout Pick selection by Romelu Lukaku’s presence on our bench, Mirallas is nonetheless fancied to notch when Newcastle pay visit to Goodison on Monday night. Indeed, when we checked in with Paddy’s odds this week, we found Mirallas to be the most likely Fantasy midfielder to score anytime in the Gameweek. With odds of 5/1 on a Mirallas goal with an Everton clean sheet against the Magpies, we’re happy to make this our bet of the week and offer up the remaining £5 of our stake.

Register and Bet £10 And Get £20 Free

If you’re new to Paddy Power, then you can take up any of these odds and get yourself a bonus. You can sign up via this site and get a free £20 when you register an account and bet a tenner.

Finally, of course, we should state that all these offers are only available to those aged 18 and over and are subject to Paddy Power’s terms and conditions. Also, if you’re going to bet, always gamble responsibly.

    Repost....

Alright. This is what I'm looking at... had to compromise and ditch Migs and get no United defender but here goes...

    WC Team:

    Boruc 4.0
    Baines, Dawson, Wilson, Clyne, Burner
    Ozil, Michu, Eriksen, Barkley, Whitts
    Rooney, Suarez, Lukaku

    Thoughts?

      Very nice.
I think that both Ozil and Eriksen will be good players, but perhaps not good value for FPL. Assists are great, but goals are the difference-makers. Unfortunately, there is a dearth of reliable midfield goal-scorers outside of Michu. Most other midfielders seem decidedly punty.
Baines will be good long-term, just don't expect attacking points every week. Everyone goes crazy chasing last week's score.

      Vidic Walker Wilson Clyne Burner
      Pail Michu Erik Whitt Morrison

Current WC team, what do you think?

    Boruc ( Lewis )
Baines Walker Clyne ( Ward Turner )
    Ozil Michu Nasri Barkley ( R.Morrison )
    Rooney Giroud Sturridge

1.0 in the bank, to upgrade Nasri to Oscar in the coming weeks.

The other draft I have in mind just has a different Defence and Keepers:

    Boruc ( Marshall )
Vidic Walker Coleman ( Clyne Turner ) 0.2 in the bank .

    Ozil Michu Nasri Barkley ( R.Morrison )
    Rooney Giroud Sturridge

Isn't one of the aims of the game to make predictions so you don't have to wait for things to happen? Otherwise you're just chasing points and there would be no need for all this analysis, you'd just look at the highest scoring players currently. He has great fixtures, OOP potential, and looks sharp.

    B.Turner, Clyne, Vidic, Coleman, Mertesacker
Yaya Toure, Michu, Barkley, Ozil, Whittingham

    Moses for Michu

    and option 3

    Baines for Coleman
    Ramsey for Ozil
    Ben Arfa for Michu
    Suarez for Lukaku

I'm moreless persuaded on the first option but can't decide.

Last big decision in my WC team....

    A. Baines

    or

    B. Vertonghen

Have this feeling that Baines has had his moment, has always blown hot and cold in previous seasons. Vertonghen is part of a spurs defence that looks rock solid and is due the odd goal/assist... agree? Only problem is my biggest two mini league competitors have Baines. Should I cover them?

    Morning all.

After my magnificent 23 point haul last week I've pulled the trigger and come up with this:

    Mignolet - Lewis

    Dawson - Clyne - Baines - Wilson - Burner

    Paulinho - Michu - Ozil - Barkley - Ravel

    Roonpig - Sturridge - Giroud

I'm torn between this attacking lineup and the prospect of Sturridge > Suarez & Giroud > Lukkaku but might have to give the latter a few more gameweeks to see whether he'll cement his place.

Most importantly, this week, who to play out of Dawson (CHE) or Wilson (NOR)? Spurs have been tight at the back & we all know about Chelski's problems this season. On top of that I'm a Norwich fan & have slightly rose tinted spectacles on at the moment. Hughton is going to have to come out attacking at some point in the near future as I was at the Villa game last week and he's losing the fans. If it isn't at Stoke then I don't know when as our immediate fixture list is not pretty.

I'd play Wilson and as for the team I like it.

Sturridge and Giroud are good choices 🙂

Aye I'm not convinced by Eriksen quite yet & I like they Paulinho is creating space for himself running from deep lately. Plus the extra 1.2mil is handy.

Too much of a chance that RVP may very well only have a cameo role for my liking, there.

So the question now is, is it worth taking an 8 pointer to get rid of Theo before 11:30 deadline or play with what I have.

Took 4 pt hit to do RVP and Murner to Rooney & Baines. Currently have only Burner on my bench who's active.

Assuming Brady plays I have a midfield of Michu, HBA, Brady and Whittingham.

Would have £9.6m to play with if I sell Theo.

Stick and get rid next GW or twist now??

I took the hit myself to do the same earlier in the week, I would suggest Toure, Gerard or Oscar.
Or Paulinho if you want some extra cash in the bank.

I think you could be able to survive one more week, on the other hand if you do the -8 now and then don't touch the transfers next week you'll have 2 freebies for the int'l window so it might be worth in in the long run.

How would you get instead? Ramsey?

Swapping from Erik to Pauly is not too bad an option as the jury is still out on who is best going forward. However if you do it I'd get Oscar over Hazard if you really want a Che mid.

Do I sub in Ward Prose or Connely (Cardiff) ??

Do I pick up Rooney or Negredo for another -4pt hit???

    Also is JEnrique > Agger?
When he had his little cameo in the attacking left sided position last year he returned very well.
