We arrive at Gameweek 6 clutching our first Flutter winnings of the season. Last time out we staked £3 on Michu to notch a third strike in a week, coupled with a Swansea clean sheet at Crystal Palace, and, at last, wiped the smile off Paddy Power’s face. Our confidence boosted, we’ve focused on red-hot Rooney and a couple of heavily backed midfield prospects that found themselves just missing out on Scout Pick selection.

First, we stop off at Old Trafford to find Wayne Rooney in bloom and in demand. The United striker has enjoyed a 0.3 price rise in the Fantasy Premier League (FPL) this week as a result of four goals in three matches prior to the midweek Capital One Cup tie. As we saw when we looked at Paddy’s odds earlier this week, Rooney and United are strongly tipped to put Steve Clarke’s West Brom to bed in Saturday’s three o’clock encounter and, with Robin van Persie’s degree of involvement still uncertain following typically cryptic messages from David Moyes, Rooney looks the most likely architect of their destruction. Paddy are offering 6/1 on Rooney to score two or more goals with a United clean sheet against the Baggies. We’re happy to back the man in form to the tune of £3 of our stake.

Our next two markets concern players who were on the cusp of the Scout Picks this week, only to be ousted at the last. Like Rooney, Arsenal’s Aaron Ramsey has form on his side and has been backed by an overwhelming tide of FPL investment in recent weeks. He travels to Swansea as a slight injury doubt but off the back of seven goals this term, four in his last three outings. If he plays, he’s likely to be in the mix for the Gunners – reason enough to carefully consider Paddy’s odds of 10/1 on a Ramsey goal with an Arsenal clean sheet against the Swans. We’ll lay down £2 of our tenner on this one.

Everton’s Kevin Mirallas is lined up for our final market. Robbed of his Scout Pick selection by Romelu Lukaku’s presence on our bench, Mirallas is nonetheless fancied to notch when Newcastle pay visit to Goodison on Monday night. Indeed, when we checked in with Paddy’s odds this week, we found Mirallas to be the most likely Fantasy midfielder to score anytime in the Gameweek. With odds of 5/1 on a Mirallas goal with an Everton clean sheet against the Magpies, we’re happy to make this our bet of the week and offer up the remaining £5 of our stake.

Register and Bet £10 And Get £20 Free

If you’re new to Paddy Power, then you can take up any of these odds and get yourself a bonus. You can sign up via this site and get a free £20 when you register an account and bet a tenner.

Finally, of course, we should state that all these offers are only available to those aged 18 and over and are subject to Paddy Power’s terms and conditions. Also, if you’re going to bet, always gamble responsibly.

Wilson over Clyne for me, he plays OOP, will most likely keep a cleansheet, and you already have Boruc for Southampton defensive coverage.

Wilson being OOP isn't particularly meaningful since he's not like to score from open play anyway. He's just a cheap route into the Stoke defense.

I would definitely play Clyne against Crystal Palace.

Stoke fan here. Noticed a bit of Arnautovic discussion, hope I can help. Excuse the iPhone typos.

First talking point. I don't think Arnie will start up front at the minute, Hughes is set on jones.

But jones usually tired and comes off for the last 20 or so. Then he has a chance of making the switch forward (or crouch comes on).

I understand the hesitancy to get stoke attackers in, but when I rearrange my 5th mid I'll be getting him over Barkley and Brady.

Firstly as a differential but Brady has an undetermined injury break coming up and Barkley has a threat of Gibson over him (subject to your opinion here).

Reasons for Arnie as opposed as to downsides of the above two, well, he looks like being our spark. Provided the last two goals whilst on the pitch and whilst the bar isn't that high, he looks our most creative player. We won't score that many still so bonus may follow if he keeps chipping in with assists and starts to score.

I think stoke are the surprise package this year. We've taken a lot of (probably fair) criticism since we came up. We still engage in the rough stuff in our back third of the pitch (it works very well so I don't have an issue with it) but our play is much more fluid going forward, Hughes has broken the fear of commuting men over the half way line in attack.

If you haven't watched us this year, please tune in against Norwich as I think (hope) you will be surprised. 2-0 stoke is my prediction.

I committed a mortal fpl-sin! I shipped OUT Coleman! But I have Baines. And now I can afford Evra instead of Ferdinand. And I won´t have the same benching dilemma every gw 🙂 Did I do the right thing?

Im thinking of benching Brady and playing both Barley and HBA

Only reason i lve having lots of players in the last game of the round ., gives hope

      thinking along the same lines
Monday night football could be too painful to watch
with HBA locked on the bench when others haven't performed
      better to live in hope..

Coleman. Baines is like an extra mid.

Keep both. One is a midfielder and the other is an attacking defender 😉

Good to go? Don't really want to take another hit for Walcott (would mean -8)

    Boruc

    Zabaleta Vidic Coleman Collins

    Michu Moses Arnautovic

    Rooney Suarez Lambert

    Daniels Turner Morrison Walcott
