The Gameweek continues with a pair of Sunday encounters, beginning at the Britannia as Mark Hughes transformed Stoke outfit take on troubled Norwich. Following that, Liverpool have the opportunity to make up ground on the early pace setters as they make the trip to the Stadium of Light to face rock bottom Sunderland under the stewardship of Kevin Ball.

The early team news sees Hughes name an unchanged XI from the side that lost at Arsenal last weekend. This sees site cult favourite Marko Arnautovic line up on the Potters’ left, while Erik Pieters has recovered from the problem that kept him out of the midweek cup win over Tranmere. Peter Crouch and Stephen Ireland warm the bench again after both found the net in Wednesday’s win over the lower league side.

For Norwich, Chris Hughton makes as many as four alterations after last weekend’s home defeat at the hands of Villa. Seb Bassong fails to recover from a hamstring injury and drops out along with Javier Garrido, Nathan Redmond and Johan Elmander – Ryan Bennett, Martin Olsson, Alex Tettey and Anthony Pilkington are the replacements. Midweek goal hero Gary Hooper is on the bench again after bagging a brace in the cup win at Watford.

Our Dugout Discussion is now open to cover your real-time chatter requirements right up to the final whistle on Wearside.

Mark Mark created the beast. He's now looking to tame it.

My decision to play 4-3-3 for the first time this week has come back to bit me in the ass...

Had I not played Wilson as my 4th defender, I would be gaining an extra 11 Brady shaped points from my bench...

Although there were merits to favouring the extra defender here, I think this is an example of why it usually pays to lean towards attacking potential as supposed to the defensive potential in a player when it's close to a flip decision like this...

The yellow flag on Brady didn't help with my decision to bench him...

No worries man, overall I've done pretty well this week...

How did your final WC decisions come through in the end, are you happy with your team moving forward?

The big one for me was ultimately rescinding on the planned Sturridge/Giroud > Suarez/Lukaku move... just couldn't bring myself to do it... mostly cos had a feeling that I'd be encountering frustration with them a few weeks down the line...

Needless to say, I'll be watching from behind the couch on Monday night...

It was an awful week tbh. Too much time twisting and turning over it. Happy to see it behind me regardless of points!

I had planned on keeping Studge and Lukaku in the WC but within an hour of the final price changes opted rashly for Suarez and Giroud and made a large reshuffle to team.

That reshuffle has seen me go without Ramsey and Brady in my team. 🙁

Ramsey + £4.3m or Ozil.....at the moment it seems like an obvious and almost silly choice, but I think Ozil will steadily rack up the points throughout the season and be in top 3 scoring midfielders at end of season.

I think you need 2 trannies to make a shift in the make-up of your team. I'd go 3 upfront as strikers are doing well this year. So I'd save this week then downgrade in MF (HBA maybe) and upgrade your 3rd striker

Just went over to 442 when Benteke got injured. The thought was that I rather have Ozil insted of a 11 like suarez at the moment. Not sure he will score as much from the winger as last year. And I think Sturidge have been scoring over his abilities. But I am considering going back to 3 strikers when I see a player that is a must have. So think I´ll spare a double FT for the international break. Thanks 😉

It's a real uphill battle playing fantasy football this year.

Every week I'm having to make changes to put out the fires in my team. Would appreciate some advice on what to use my free tranny on this week:

    A) Lamps > Erikson/Paulinho (have Soldaddy)
    B) Collins > Dawson
    C) Chester > Wilson
    D) RVP > Roon (use the extra cash the following week)

You think lose RVP with the following 4 sweet fixtures?

I know Utd have been poor but we are talking about RVP here. On pens, corners & some FKs, plus probably the most deadly finisher in the league. For a -4 too 😕

        A) is do-able though

Since you haven´t made RVP> Rooney already I think you should keep him. His probably hungry and will out score Rooney in the following weeks if he keeps fit.

Think you should do Lamps-> Eriksen

Slightly late but there was a discussion about keepers on the previous page. People often judge keepers by how many 'great' saves they can make or how many 'howlers' they concede.

This is often an unfair way to judge a keeper.

    Let's compare Given and Llloris.

Given will make some fantastic saves. He always has. But he will always stay on his line for corners. This means he will rarely be caught in no man's land for corner or punch badly etc. You will never see him start counter attacks or come off his line and play a high line as a sweeper keeper (but keepers are just there to save shots).

    No. That is rubbish.

Let's look at lloris. In my opinion he is the best keeper in the league. Yes he will make some good saves but his aren't generally the diving full stretch to tip around the post saves. His great saves come in the form of one-on-ones. He is great at saving shots by cutting down the angles. He is a fantastic sweeper keeper. He will come out of his box and save the team time and time again by beating the attacker to the ball. But one time this season I am sure he will make an error. He will be caught in no mans land and concede what looks like a howler. People will forget all the saves that he makes (and a keeper such as a stay on the line Given would never make).

You could exchange Lloris for De Gea (a keeper who is great at setting up counter attacks) or Given for Schwarzer. The point I am trying to make is that people often judge keepers on the wonder save they make or the howler they concede. All keeper will make both of these. IT is what they do day in, day out in 90 minutes which is how you should judge keepers.

    Yours sincerely,

    Disgruntled keeper!

Keepers are also dependent on the team they play with. Lloris is the ideal keeper for AVB's highline but he wouldn't be as good as say Juicy J if he was playing for West Ham.

Total keepers > shot stoppers but shot stopper > total keepers for sides with worse defences.

If you're REGULARLY making mistakes which is costing your team goals and thus points, you're not playing well.

      That's true for any player.

The way I judge a keeper is by how many points he wins for my FF team.

I've seen Shay Given concede bucket loads of goals because he chooses to always stay on his line. That's not to be rewarded either. Probably why he's sitting on a bench at Villa these days.

reversion to mean is on the cards, except bonus changes does change attractiveness of defenders and midfielders a bit

defs will continue to rake in more points, but I doubt defensive mids will keep scoring with every shot on target
