Cityโ€™s irresistible attack brings more joy for a pair of players who are prompting Fantasy managers back to the drawing board. Elsewhere, Evertonโ€™s loanee hitman disappoints in a Gameweek where striking rivals deliver once again.

The Game Changer

Sergio Agueroโ€™s form is becoming increasingly hard to ignore. City are clear at the top of the goalscoring stakes and David Silvaโ€™s return appears to have re-ignited their form and, in particular, that of the Argentinian marksman.

A brace at Upton Park this evening brings Aguero to five strikes in his last three league matches. Had his spot-kick counted in his favour against Everton in Gameweek 7 and not been registered as an own goal, Aguero would likely be out in front as the FPLโ€™s top scoring player.

Largely ignored while we waited on Manuel Pellegriniโ€™s teamsheet trends, itโ€™s become clear that, despite competition up front, Aguero is key to the Chileanโ€™s plans and central to Cityโ€™s title challenge.

With just over 10% ownership, weโ€™re looking at a low-level differential with explosive qualities. Even with such fierce competition for places in our forward lines, his form in a City attack that looks full of goals, simply has to demand our attention and have us at least consider a route to recruit.

The Underused

David Silva has emerged as a rare commodity โ€“ a reliable heavy hitter from midfield.

While Mesut Ozil retuned strongly for the Gunners today, the German international is an established favourite in over a third of FPL lineups. In contrast, Silvaโ€™s ownership sits under 5% meaning that, like Aguero, he stands out a hugely effective differential. Significantly, the Spaniard has either scored or assisted in four of his five league starts this season โ€“ that is a consistency that, arguably, only Ozil and Aaron Ramsey can currently rival in midfield.

Tonight many Fantasy managers will be weighing up a dilemma โ€“ Aguero or Silva. With City blitzing opponents with goals – itโ€™s becoming clear that we canโ€™t go on ignoring the potential of their two protagonists.

The Selection Poser

Romelu Lukakuโ€™s failure in the win over Hull is surely forgivable given his impressive impact on arrival at Goodison. In a Gameweek where almost every other heavy-hitting striker delivered, however, it will greatly frustrate the Belgianโ€™s owners.

Having hovered up new owners over the international break, it remains to be seen if todayโ€™s 68-minute blank will raise the first alarm bells. Itโ€™s unthinkable to consider that Lukaku wonโ€™t go on delivering value for his 8.0 price tag but value from our strikers isnโ€™t a major consideration, right now.

There could be concern that, long-term, Lukaku may struggle to keep pace with the Liverpool pairing, Olivier Giroud, Sergio Aguero and Unitedโ€™s forwards โ€“ this is without considering the return of Christian Benteke.

With so much value available in midfield, three heavy-hitting forwards can be a reality and, given the form being shown in the current Fantasy landscape, we canโ€™t afford a drop in output from any of our strikers, particularly those who tempt the armband. It may be just one blank but Lukaku needs a goal at Villa.

Mark Mark created the beast. He's now looking to tame it.

Why does Moyes try to protect a 1-0 lead rather than search for another goal to kill off the game?

    I'm going a bit mad

I'm thinking about getting Aquero in.
But that means getting rid of Lukaku.
He did crap today and I captained the twit.
But next week Lukaku has more chance scoring against Villa than Aquero has against Chelsea, so what's the point?
Lukaku didn't score in the arguably easier Hull fixture.
So, who knows? You're just chasing points. And if this is for a hit, then it's even more pointless.
But Aquero will rise in price and Lukaku is likely to fall.
Who do you want long term?
    Aquero.
So you need to do it now.
But that means another player out and more point hits.
You're best off holding then till Aquero has Norwich then.
But I may not be able to afford it then!
    How many points we talking?
    8
    8! What are your options?
Obviously Lukaku to Aquero, but to do it it needs to be either Kolorov to a 4.3 or Michu to an 8.0.
Kolorov isn't likely to play and if he does he'll probably concede.
    To who though?
    God knows...

Terry will most likely outscore Fonte and Lovren over the season but I can't tell you if he offers the best value out of those options..

Team looks ok for next week, saving a transfer I reckon. Screw the Ramsey pointswagon!

Indeed, chuffed with getting a point from your boys today, especially with 10 men for most of the game.

put the armband on him, when i saw 4-0, i thought there'd be some sort of return...what a dimmer

Absolutely glorious. 4-0 and not even an assist.

Virtually everyone has him other than myself.

Last year Laudrup said that they couldn't rely on Michu all season again so they're spreading the play around. There is a logic to it.

At the start of this season I was preaching that he was massively overpriced. I can hardly complain that he isn't giving great returns. That said, I'm going to complain anyway - where are my points!

Is Martin olsson nailed on for Norrwich now played last 4 games I think for 90 minutes and was planning on doing Zabaleta and Sigurdsson to Ozil and Olsson

Each week there seems to be compelling arguments for yet another midfield or forward transfer, so my defence hasn't changed at all since GW1

So need to bring in someone like Chico, Terry or GJohnson
A Chico has a good run
B Terry should give quality all season
C GJohnson looks cheap and could get ahead of the bandwagon...but Pol not keeping CS's

Is it worth saving a FT just so that I dont have a selection headache next week? Eg I've got 11 players I want playing but am thinking of doing Barkley --> Lallana, which would force me to leave someone out!
