With leagues across the Fantasy Premier League (FPL), Sky Sports, Sun Dream Team and Champions League games, we have plenty to analyse before tomorrow’s deadlines. We also look at those who are a little richer after having a great week in our PlayON game and offer the first details of the season’s opening Fantasy Football Scout Cup competition.

Fantasy Premier League

Hemant Gosavi holds steady at the Scout League summit after a 56 point haul last weekend. Arsenal trio Olivier Giroud, Aaron Ramsey and Mesut Ozil produced 34 points between them, while Daniel Sturridge and Oscar also chipped in with a goal apiece as Hemant moved to 34th in the overall standings.

David Wilson climbs to second on the back of a 78 point return in Gameweek 8. Captain Luis Suarez, Eden Hazard and Roberto Soldado all delivered, as did Ramsey and Giroud, with David now sitting on 541 points – 64th spot overall. Ed C drops to third after his decision to captain Romelu Lukaku failed to pay off, though he had the Ramsey-Ozil-Giroud points to bolster his total.

In fourth spot is JohnFootyManagerTV who racked up a monster haul of 109 points. He handed Hazard the armband and also had Sergio Aguero, Soldado, Sturridge, Ozil, Ramsey and Paulinho to thank as all of his front seven produced attacking points.

Finally, Henry Carpenter Clawson completes the top five after producing 73 points at the weekend. His decision to hand the armband to Mesut Ozil at home to Norwich proved a masterstroke, while Suarez, Giroud and Steven Gerrard helped him move to 534 points overall. The code to join up is 1580-1106.

In the Fantasy Football Scout Members league, Andrew Childerhouse moves into top spot after picking up 64 points last weekend – Ozil, Giroud and Sturridge were joined by David Silva in picking up the points. Phil Moreton sits in second on 503 points – just three points off the top, whilst former leader Wasana Busby drops down to third spot.

Sky Sports Fantasy Football

Ben Broadhurst takes over at the top of the Scout League. He climbs from third last week to the summit and now sits in 630 points – 18th spot in the overall standings. Alan Davey tucks in behind in second spot on 611 points, whilst Daniel Brookfield slips from second to third spot on 604 points. The winner of our Sky league, which has climbed back to first spot in the league of leagues, wins £1,000. To join, visit Sky Sports Fantasy Football and key in League Name: FFScout, League Code: 8000112.

The Sun Dream Team

Rhys Niyazi climbs from second spot to this week’s summit, with his decision to load up on five Tottenham and two Arsenal players continuing to look a wise one. Rhys sits on 541 points overall, just four ahead of Geoff Pryer, who moves up from third last time around – only one of his XI, Simon Mignolet, doesn’t have European duties, with Michu’s goal for Swansea last night helping his cause. Jonathan David Nicol completes the top three, with the entire Spurs backline and keeper continuing to rack up the points. To join visit The Sun Dream Team, league name: Fantasy Football Scout, password: ReWOZhn1T1 and PIN: 8061654.

Champions League

Diegocho33 leads the way after Tuesday and Wednesday’s fixtures. His decision to captain Zlatan Ibrahimovic proved inspired as the Swede’s four-goal haul for PSG against Anderlecht boosted Diegocho33’s overall score to 302 points and helped him to number one spot in the overall rankings. Load O Ballacks moves into second after he also captained the PSG forward – a 108-point haul over the midweek matches earns him second spot in the overall standings, just two points off the summit. Petumon1 is a little way back in third on 283 points overall – he also had Ibrahimovic in his front three but choose to hand the armband to Cristiano Ronaldo. The details for joining our mini-league are: league name FFScout, league code 1209685-489925.

PlayON

Michael Penfold took first spot in PlayON’s exclusive Fantasy Football Scout £2 game last time around. His decision to load up on the likes of Mesut Ozil, Sergio Aguero, Andros Townsend and Oscar earned him £39.74, while Dom Lawrence and Derek Orton completed the top three, earning £26.64 and £20.16 respectively.

The Fantasy Football Scout Cup

We’ve been working on a new admin system to run our Cup tournaments this season and we’re now in final testing ahead of the first tournament. We hope to open up entry for the first of our cups next week with a view to running a qualifying round in Gameweek 11. Look out for more details early next week.

i'm trying to decide between vertonghen and dawson, and just went through the matches section on here looking at the goal attempts stats. vertonghen has had a grand total of 1 all season. as an aside, while i was looking through that, i've noticed that townsend has had a fairly ridiculous number of goal attempts, and paulinho has had an absolutely ridiculous number - the man is a prolific chance getter/misser

Depends how much store you put in the fact that if somebody is prepared to have a pop at goal they will eventually come good..and they both will imo...Look at public tables and ITMT's explosion imminent...look who's sat at the top of the pile.

Manchester United forward Robin van Persie should be fit to face Stoke after missing the Champions League win over Real Sociedad to help clear up toe and groin problems.
Rio Ferdinand and Nemanja Vidic could return but Danny Welbeck and Tom Cleverley are unlikely to figure.
Stoke defenders Ryan Shawcross and Geoff Cameron hope to be available.
Shawcross has not trained all week due to illness, while Cameron missed out last weekend because of a calf injury.
    MATCH PREVIEW

It might not have been a 'Mark Robins moment', but Inigo Martinez's own goal that won the game for Manchester United on Wednesday was certainly hugely important for manager David Moyes.
After another stutter against Southampton last weekend, Moyes just needed a win - ANY win, and in a way the more low-key the better. I get the feeling he'll be quite content with all the talk about 'the book', enabling him to get on with the here and now.
Sir Alex Ferguson was always the master at deflecting attention and setting a different agenda when difficult questions were being asked, and perhaps he's still at it on United's behalf?
    LAWRO'S PREDICTION
    Image of Mark Lawrenson
    Mark Lawrenson
    Football analyst
"Teams are now going to Old Trafford and thinking they have got a chance of winning. Teams used to go to Old Trafford and think they had a chance of winning a corner, but that feeling that United are invincible is not there at the moment.

"The good news for United is that they are playing Stoke, who cannot buy a goal right now."

Read Lawro's full prediction and score
Amidst the chatter about the past, about Keane, Beckham and flying pizzas, United played and won a Champions League game.
Wayne Rooney shone against Real Sociedad, and his statement afterwards about having "a new lease of life" under Moyes was something else to make the manager smile. Rooney's past history with his first mentor was meant to be a problem but it's working out as quite the opposite.
Now comes another nod to days gone by, with one of Rooney's predecessor's as a United number 10 returning to Old Trafford. Stoke boss Mark Hughes says his old club are "a little bit vulnerable at the moment" and has pledged to be "positive and have a go".
That's easier said than done of course. No Potters player has scored more than one league goal this season, and with only four scored in total it's clear that Hughes has yet to solve what's been a problem throughout Stoke's Premier League years.
Getting anything away to Manchester United has been difficult for even longer, with Stoke beaten in every one of their last 10 visits and winless since 1976.
Given all that, United surely won't go a third home league game without a win, will they? No book has the answer to that.
    MATCH FACTS

    Head-to-head
Manchester United have won their last nine home league games against Stoke, scoring 26 goals in the process. Stoke have lost 11 times and drawn just once at Old Trafford since a 1-0 victory in April 1976.
Stoke have earned just one point in their last 11 league matches against Manchester United. Their last win was 2-1 at home on Boxing Day 1984.
It is 20 years since Stoke last beat United in any competition - Mark Stein scored twice in a 2-1 League Cup second-round victory, only for United to win the second leg 2-0 at home to progress 3-2 on aggregate.
    Manchester United
United's current tally of 11 points is their lowest after eight games of a season since 1989, when they had eight points.
They have played consecutive home league matches without a win for the first time since 2007. That year, United went three successive games without a win at Old Trafford between April-August - but then won 12 home fixtures in a row.
The Red Devils have only won three of their last eight Premier League matches at Old Trafford (W3, D2, L3).
They have kept just two clean sheets in their last 12 league games, conceding 18 goals in that period.
Manchester United have not lost a league game after taking the lead since a 2-1 defeat at Chelsea in March 2011.
Robin van Persie has scored in each of his last six Premier League appearances against Stoke, amassing eight goals.
    Stoke
Stoke have only taken two points from their last five matches, scoring one goal during that time.
They have scored the fewest goals in the Premier League this season (four) and gone three games without a league goal for the first time since May to August 2011. Stoke have not endured a four-match streak without a top-flight goal since a club record eight-game spell between December 1984 and March 1985.
The Potters have yet to lead a Premier League game at half-time this season, with their only first-half goal so far being Geoff Cameron's equaliser in an eventual 3-1 defeat at Arsenal.
However, Mark Hughes' side have the joint-fifth best defensive record in the division, having only conceded seven goals in their eight matches.
Stoke have matched last season's start of eight points from their opening eight games.
Hughes made 467 appearances for Manchester United over two spells and scored 163 goals (1980-86 & 1988-95

So, Moses out for a hit...Snodgrass for a bit of differential maybe? Surely Snoddy won't be stuck on 0 goals 0 assists for long, will he?
Townsend the other one I'm thinking about. Or Ravel to free funds, not sure he's that nailed on though.

    FYI.

The right hand side of my face looks like I'm trying to smuggle a tennis ball. Jaw infection of some sort I guess.
The upside is I can count my pulse rate as it shoots pain up through my ear and another around and back the lower jaw.

    Just an interesting observation.

Off for a packet of painkillers now and a cup of tea.

    If Demi's source is right:
Mignolet, Johnson, Cissokho, Toure, Skrtel, Sakho, Henderson, Gerrard, Lucas, Suarez, Sturridge

I don't think it fits any formation perfectly but the most likely one looks like 3-4-1-2. Three center backs, two wingbacks (Johnson & Cissokho) and one of Henderson/Gerrard in the hole. I don't think Henderson is much of a playmaker and Gerrard doesn't have enough energy or pace anymore to play behind the striker imo.

Maybe there'll be no clear player in the hole with Henderson and Gerrard sharing attacking duties, more of a 3-5-2 with a middle trio of Lucas Henderson Gerrard.

Only alternative I can envisage is this. Sakho has played left back and Cissokho/Sakho and Johnson/Henderson might offer solidity on the flanks.

      --------------Sturridge
      Cissokho---Suarez---Henderson
      ---------Lucas Gerrard
      Sakho Skrtel Toure Johnson
      ---------------Migs

Henderson in the hole for sure. Doesn't need to be a playmaker, just needs to give the ball to those front two. They'll do the rest 😀

Makes me consider whether it's time to say goodbye to Coleman now if that's my thinking though.

    Migs (Lewis)
    Coleman, Clyne, Walker, Chico (Faye)
Michu, Özil, Oscar (Barkley, R Morrison)
    Giroud, Rooney (C), Sturridge

    0.5m in the bank

A Lewis to Harper for the win
    B something else, please suggest!

    Mark and Granville,

are your faces anywhere on the internet? Weird to hear your voices on the podcast each week with no identity to match. Recently saw what Sean Keavney from BBC6 looks like ,so strange to put this new piece of visual information to the voice you know already..
