Having published articles on our recommended Defenders and Midfielders for the next four-to-six Gameweeks, we now assess the men up front. Liverpool’s dynamic duo continue to lead the way, though City’s irrepressible Argentine stakes a claim on the back of an eye-catching series of displays and goals.

Liverpool duo Daniel Sturridge and Luis Suarez hold the top two spots respectively, with the Englishman’s incredible form and slightly cheaper price allowing him to nip ahead of his more explosive colleague. Anfield encounters with West Brom, Fulham and Norwich in the next six, in addition to a trip to Hull, bode well for the Reds duo, whilst visits to league leaders Arsenal and Merseyside rivals Everton should hold no fear, given their respective lack of resilience. Fantasy managers opting to go without either face further agonising weeks in the next month.

Sergio Aguero surges up our rankings to third place. The Argentine seems to have finally found his form under Manuel Pellegrini and with back-to-back braces in all competitions over the last few days, he looks irresistible right now and surely immune to rotation. A flourishing partnership with fit-again David Silva, allied with Pellegrini’s keenness to go on the offensive, means Aguero was the most transferred-in forward this Gameweek – he squares off against an uncharacteristically vulnerable Chelsea defence before embarking on a run that includes Norwich and Sunderland in the next three.

Olivier Giroud drops down to fourth, having featured heavily for both club and country since the start of the season. While his form is undeniable – two assists in the league last time out and a midweek goal against Dortmund – the Frenchman has publicly declared his need for a rest, with next week’s Capital One Cup clash against Chelsea the likely time to draft in Nicklas Bendtner. Given that the Gunners face Liverpool and Manchester United over the upcoming weeks, Giroud looks too essential to skip league duties.

High intensity Romelu Lukaku carried the armband for many last week, with only a 70-minute appearance and two points to show for it. Trips to Villa Park and Crystal Palace should provide the robust frontman plenty of opportunities to improve his fitness and his tally as the Toffees continue to keep pace with their Merseyside rivals.

Wayne Rooney falls outside the top five. A draw against Southampton and a faltering midweek win inspire little confidence in Manchester United assets; however the England star’s price and set-piece threat are enough to warrant continued interest. The Reds could welcome a ramshackle Stoke defence to Old Trafford on Saturday prior to a trip to Fulham, as Rooney looks to maintain a run that has harvested a goal or assist in four of the last five.

Manager Paul Lambert may be treating Christian Benteke with care following his return from injury, but there’s no denying the midlands outfit have missed their powerful front man. With one of the tastiest fixture lists on offer, owners of the big Belgian will no doubt be salivating at the prospect of home clashes against Everton and Cardiff, along with a trip to hit-and-miss West Ham in the next three weeks. Subject to mass sales following his injury, an 8.8 price looks all the more appealing.

Loic Remy remains on our radars ahead of a promising derby against strugglers Sunderland. Offering a consistency unrivalled by fellow Geordie forwards and an attractive price for those seeking to invest elsewhere, the Frenchman may well be worth holding onto for another week. With Chelsea visiting St James’ Park before a tricky to White Hart Lane in the weeks after, the case is hardly clear cut, though.

Last season’s Golden Boot winner Robin Van Persie drops down the pecking order amid concerns over form and fitness. Missing out on Champions League duties in midweek due to toe and groin problems, it’s clear that David Moyes is desperate to protect the talismanic Dutchman at every opportunity – subsequently, it becomes increasingly difficult to justify a 13.9 outlay for a forward that may well not start. After scoring from open play for the first time since Gameweek 1 last weekend, the United frontman has done just about enough to earn a place on this week’s Watchlist. With the premium assets in midfield performing so well and with Aguero to add to the growing list of high-performing forwards, Van Persie’s days in the top ten may well be numbered.

With a kind schedule (and spot-kick duties, as we discovered last time out) boosting his appeal, Wilfried Bony Bony rounds off the list. Yet to really hit form this year, the summer signing has the perfect platform to cement a place in Michael Laudrup’s side as Swansea face West Ham, Cardiff and Stoke in succession. However, with Europa League fixtures and the versatile Michu able to play up front, the Eredivisie import may be a gamble too far for our crowded forward lines.

I am biased, but i would play Terry because of his goal threat and Chelsea's habit of playing defensively against top teams. Any clean sheet for Chelsea, and there is a high chance that our man will get some bonus too 🙂

    Sorry for the repost,

    Hi guys..

    Am on a wildcard..

seriously confused on choosing between aguero or rooney ..(as a united supporter, a constant belief that goals will come soon is making me tend to rooney)..ownership % is almost same fot both..
the other 2 forwards are suarez & benteke..

and in the midfield hazard or silva...(mind saying that hazard's form may dip, silva is a differential with 5%, )..

please help me guys.. thanks in advance..

I'm a United fan as well, and it's Aguero for sure.
Suarez Tekkers and Aguero is the ideal strikeforce.

      For Haz vs Silva,

      Hazard VS Silva

For some of us, we already have 2 big hitting midfielders in Michu and Ozil, and have only space for 1 more premium midfielder, without recklessly giving Michu/Ozil the boot. So, we can only accommodate one of Hazard, Oscar and Silva.
Hazard vs Oscar, Hazard wins it for me. See explanation in Jonty's hot topic from yesterday.

Silva is City's brain , he's what makes them tick. He's behind most, if not all, of their attacks. A footballing genius, some would say. and now with City knocking in the goals for fun, it looks like at least 1 City attacking player is essential. Aguero and Silva seem to be the popular choices, but most can't afford to bring in Aguero due to his price tag and the vast array of other striking options up front.
So it comes down to Silva for me.

So it comes down to Silva VS Hazard .

      Silva :

      - Averages 1.6 SpG (ShotsPerGame) ( Total of 8 over past 5 games )
      - Pass Success Rate of 87.4%
      - Avg 4 KP per game ( KeyPasses )
      - Avg of 1.7 times fouled per game ( This might aid in getting assists for converted free kicks )
      - Avg of 0.8 Dribbles per game ( Total of 4 over past 5 games )
      - Avg of 2.6 Accurate Crosses Per Game ( 13 accurate / 29 Total crosses in 5 games )
      - Avg of 2.4 Long Balls Per Game
      - Avg of 1 Accurate Through balls Per game ( out of 12 Through balls made in total over the past 5 games)

      Hazard:

      - Avg of 2.1 Shots Per Game ( Total of 17 shots made over the past 7 appearances, 1 sub app out of the 7)
      - Pass Success Rate of 81.9 %
      - Avg of 2.4 KP per game
      - Avg of 2.8 times fouled per game
      - Avg of 2.1 Dribbles per Game ( Total of 17 over past 7 app )
      - Avg of 0.4 Accurate crosses per game ( 3 Accurate / 10 total crosses in 7 appearances )
      - Avg of 1.3 Accurate Long Balls per game
      - Avg of - Accurate through balls per game ( Only 1 made, not considered accurate )

      How I interpret this data:

Silva is obviously the less selfish player, and not exactly the biggest goal threat. It's more likely he'll be assisting most of City's goals. He still gets some shots off , but not as much as one would like.
Has a low dribbling rate as well, which I understand as he prefers to pass it to create a chance, rather than dribbling the ball in order to get closer to goal to get a shot off.

Hazard on the other hand, doesn't have the passing stats to match Silva's. He is a bigger goal threat though. With an average of 2.1 SpG and a total of 17 shots over his past 7 appearances, compared to Silva's 1.6 SpG and a meagre total of 8 shots over his past 5 games.

Silva's 4 KP to Hazard's 2.4, and Silva's Acc. crosses, through balls, Long balls, are all superior to Hazard's. Which suggest that Silva's points will mainly come from assists, rather than goals. Hazard on the other hand seems to be the opposite, his points likely to come from goals rather than assist.

      Basically,

      Hazard --> Mainly goals
      Silva ---> Mainly assists
      😆

Personally, I'll be going with Hazard, and Michu will probably make way for Silva sometime in the future. But for now, Hazard will take Eriksen's spot in my team come GW 10. and I'll look to bring in Silva sometime after that, both look to be fantastic FPL options though.

With attacking players not really, they'll just be scoring goals. Won't affect the other, except for a CS, which doesn't apply to Midfielders or Strikers : )

Rooney owner. Get Kun instead, don't let your association with United gets in the way. He's the main man for City attack, on penos as well & good fixtures ahead. Rooney got RvP back in the team later on. Just my 2 cents.

Still mulling over what to do with Davies. I think I'm going to double on Southampton and get Clyne (have Fonte but not Boruc) over Chico. I think it comes down to form over fixtures - Swansea's defensive stats up till now are quite poor and Williams/Davies both out will have to hurt. Plus, I don't think Southampton's fixtures are that bad. Am I talking myself into it or does it seem reasonable?

    Boruc
Dawson - Vidic - Baines (burner wilson)
Michu - Ramsey - Januzaj - Eriksen (barkley)
    Giroud - Suarez - Lukaku

The obvious weaklinks are eriksen and vidic, not sure if they will start and their price dropping...have decent cover for both in burner and barkley if they dont start.

My only concern would be if Eriksen comes on for a late sub...Barkley is playing a leaky Villa defense remember.

Hi guys. I'm new here. Could somebody please help me out, I have a 2pt lead this month and need to maintain it to get the prize, dunno whether to gamble and do -4?

    Boruc
    Shaw, Coleman, Chico
    Barkley, Moses, Ozil, Oscar
    Soldado (v) RvP, Sturridge (c)

I've already done Zab > Chico. 1.4 in the bank.

Was thinking of doing Moses > Lallana/Townsend too. Any help appreciated!

As a Gooner, i'll be screwing myself if Giroud scores big and he's not my (c). But there's a special feeling about Roo this week. I envy Acqua's determination with Roo (c).

All depends if you think Hazard will outscore the mid you will drop this week by 4 or more. Could easily sell Hazard next week & still get Aguero for a hit.
