calling FFS regulars and fpl veterans to explaing their strategies
i've noticed that quite big number of regulars constantly get C right and getting points from all those monster hauls
on the other hand my picking C is the wrost side of my fpl carrer
for example-by gargamel program for last year i've had the worst C ratio from all FFS regulars but still managed to finnish very respectable 1.7k OR , if i get them right would be in top 200 or so
this year anything changed and i constantly pick wrong options , so i dont say it's a luck

if i could finally strat do good C calls i would be so much better fpl player cause my planing of fixures and prediction when player will hit from is ussualy spot on
if ur predictions of when players will hit form is spot on then u shud just pick a captain using the same method. i usually captain the striker with the best fixture
it's not same , when player hit form he ussualy do well in few fixures in a row and dont often deliver monster haul

Just head to the captains poll ,and pick the top player (c) him and your done , that's what the casuals do.
Yeah, pretty much. Keep it simple. I like totalfpl's "odds-based-point-prediction" articles, basically take the odds of something happening (goal, assists and clean sheet), weight those up to the amount of points the player get from them and add bonus point predictions based on those odds. Sure odds aren't perfect and most of them are shorter, but I feel they give a decent indication of the player's chances.

Hard to tell, innit? I feel the odds usually reflect "how good the fixture is" pretty well, but they might be a little off sometimes on form and OPTA stats.
I haven't analyzed the results, all they do are use the bookies odds and "translate" this into projected FPL points. I like it, but I like odds.
Pick more explosive options, such as last week when you picked Aguero. Not Giroud, Soldado etc who you picked on other weeks.
I just pick who I think has the best Fixture + Form.
Only had 2 bad Captain picks in Silva and Benteke

What's your plan for Michu this week?
Keeping until I know he's out, not too excited about the midfield options this year and he's got Fulham coming up next GW. If he's out might ditch for Ramsey/Silva/Coutinho.
Plan B is panic, downgrade him big time and upgrade Lukaku/Sturridge to Suarez for a hit.
Fair enough, those plans seem fairly solid. I'd be very tempted with the latter, if I'm honest - Suarez is an absolute beast this season and I wouldn't be surprised to see him get another hat-trick against Fulham.
If you're going to take a hit to bring him in , then this week is probably a decent time to do it...
Fixture is great, but international break is coming up and it's (very) competitive for Suarez' and Uruguay's sake.
Even if the "wrong" option is not getting Suarez, no reason I can't get lucky with Sturridge outscoring him and then get the break to really dig into the team with 2 FTs.

Thanks for the feedback. Yeah, lack of Suarez is a problem, but Sturridge has been amazing so far this season, I have a hard time dropping him for a hit. At the moment I'm probably sticking with him for now, see if I can work Suarez into the team in a more organic way later.

Yeah, the team definitely needs work. It's all about picking a direction to move in though, I feel like last week was just "patching up" by getting Aguero.
Can't wait for January WC, I've seen how annoying it is to pick the wrong cheap defender and cheap midfielder this season. Really messes with the strength in depth of the whole squad.

The only risk is obviously the gametime - tomorrows game against Schalke should hopefully provide some clues. To be honest, I think JM will eventually settle on Hazard, Oscar, Mata trio (with Mata on the right as an inverted winger like Robben), so it should be ok to take the punt.

I tend to lean towards the more attacking player, as you need to rely on a CS to get any points from a defender. Like you said, 1 goal can unravel that. But on the other side of the coin, Spurs just aren't scoring enough goals. I'm stumped!

Good idea. I suppose an international break may reinvigorate Sturridge, as could the return of andy carroll or some other competition for a world cup spot.
I'd really love to be able to save this GW and just hide behind the couch when Suarez is playing, hoping Sturridge can at least come close to matching him points-wise. Then have 2 FTs over the international break, so much can change over it. I mean midfield wise, Michu & Wally & Coutinho could all be at 100% fitness after the break with good fixtures to come. Just feels like the worst time to rearrange the team right now.

Good overall score ILOVEBAPS considering your captain scores. If I'd captained my goalkeepers every week they would have scored 130! I've clocked 174 from my captains to your 128 (difference of 46 points) and I'm only 37 points ahead of you. Better captain choices is the only difference. Picking the right captain makes a massive difference this season.
