As the hours tick down until the Gameweek 11 deadline, we’re rolling out a final heads-up on the eighth Fantasy Football Scout Cup, sponsored by Paddy Power. Free-to-enter, the qualifying round is set to take place this weekend, so if you fancy your chances of joining previous winners donnellyc, Jonty, Goonerdave, Ninja_Fit_Saints, sleepingmaster, Mch and reigning champion Wild Rover in our hall of fame, read on for more details:

Seasoned veterans can click here to submit their entry, though if you’re new to the process, here’s a little more information:

What is the Paddy Power Cup?

The Paddy Power Cup is our version of the Fantasy Premier League’s Fantasy Cup game. Entrants who qualify for the first round will be randomly drawn against each other and the winner of the tie is whoever has the highest score from that Gameweek, minus points spent on transfers (like in the original game and in head-to-head scores). In the event of a tie, the Manager highest in the overall standing will progress.

When does it start?

The qualifying round will take place in Gameweek 11 but you can enter after the Gameweek is played out. All entries received before 11.59pm on Monday November 11 will be entered into the qualifying round. In this first cup competition we will have 1024 qualifiers for the first round – those 1017 (plus 7 previous winners who will earn a bye if entered) with the top scores in Gameweek 11 will progress to the first round proper to be played in Gameweek 12. Again, FPL standing will decide who progresses in the event of tied positions.

How do I enter?

Simply fill out the entry form here. You will be sent a confirmation email to verify your entry. You can also check that you are entered via this list.

When will I find out if I’ve qualified?

Results from the qualifying round will be published on Tuesday November 12

What is the Gameweek Schedule

Each round of the Paddy Power Cup will be played out over the following schedule:

  • Qualifying – Gameweek 11
  • Round 1 – 1024 teams – Gameweek 12
  • Round 2 – 512 teams – Gameweek 13
  • Gameweek 14 – Break
  • Round 3 – 256 teams – Gameweek 15
  • Round 4 – 128 teams – Gameweek 16
  • Round 5 – 64 teams – Gameweek 17
  • Gameweek 18 – Break
  • Round 6 – 32 teams – Gameweek 19
  • Gameweek 20 – Break
  • Round 7 – 16 teams – Gameweek 21
  • Quarter-Final – 8 teams – Gameweek 22
  • Semi-Finals – 4 teams – Gameweek 23
  • Final – 2 teams – Gameweek 24

When are the fixtures released?

The fixture list for each round will be published a day or two before each Gameweek deadline.

Are there prizes?

Sponsors Paddy Power are supplying the competition with some great prizes and we’re supplementing these with Amazon Vouchers. The prizes break down as follows:

Winner – £100 worth of free bets. £100 Amazon Voucher
Runner-up – £50 worth of free bets. £50 Amazon Voucher
3rd Place – £50 worth of free bets. £25 Amazon Voucher

In addition, the top scoring manager from each round will win a £25 free bet from Paddy Power on supply of their Paddy Power username.

Cup Entrants will need a Paddy Power account and be aged 18 or over to be eligible for some of the above prizes. Prizes are also subject to Paddy Power’s terms and conditions. You can, of course, enter without being over 18 and without a Paddy Power account but will not be eligible for the free bet prizes.

Do I have to enter if I’m a previous winner?

Yes, because your FPL team ID will have changed, we will need to record your entry again. As a previous winner, you will be given a bye to the first round proper.

Do I need to be registered with Fantasy Football Scout?

We ask you to supply a FFS username so we can feature you, as a member of our community, in any articles associated with the tournament. Ideally, you will already have a username with us but this is not essential to enter – you must, however, supply a username for the purpose of the tournament so you can be identified in articles. You must not change this username throughout the course of the tournament, should you do so without permission, or should you enter multiple teams or if your FFS account comes under moderation for any reason, we reserve the right to remove you from the tournament.

I know this has probably been asked already but any word on Brady's injury?

With Silva out I could possibly be down to 10 with Colback being one of the 10. Already taken -4 so may just leave him until next week?

Yeah..but the worry is that this tracking back lark has had a serious impact on both Hazard and Oscar's FPL prospects...good for Chelsea maybe but now they are hardly the free flowing attacking team we'd like to think they are...(i have Oscar btw but i wouldn't buy him at the mo)...Things have changed at Chelsea and the recent stats are showing it.

    Sorry repost.

I stupidly bought silva early in the week and is now obviously injured.
Should I take a hit to ship him back out? Current squad is:

    Mignolet
    Chico - B. Turner - Walker
    RavMo - Ozil - Barkley - Oscar
    Lukaku - Suarez - Giroud

    (Lewis - Silva - Reid - Chester)

If he's out for up to a month, he could potentially be back after the break, meaning he would really only miss this week. But he seems to always be injured!

if you take the hit I would bring in Nasri, otherwise you are cheering on a Gerrard penalty as he will play more defensively with Cout back

How to fix this team?? Already did Michu & Giroud -> Ags & Ram for -4. Now Silva

    Migs
    Mert Coleman Clyne Chester Brayford
    Silva Oscar Brady Ramsey Colback
    Rooney Suarez Aguero

Really have that sinking feeling. Considering WC.

Definitely Barkley over Gabidon. Or Vidic over Gabidon. Or anyone in this world over Gabidon.

Chester injured and Coleman, Kosc, Evra and Gabbidon left in defence. Would it be worth a 4 point hit (thinking medium term, to allow flexibility each week) to transfer out Gabbidon for Vlaar, Williams or Rat and leave Kosc on the bench?
