Last week’s picks delivered a couple of clean sheets at the back, though Philippe Coutinho’s bench role at the Emirates and Fernando Torres’ blank away to Newcastle meant we failed to bring home attacking returns.

This week, with both Luis Suarez and Sergio Aguero looking strong options in attack, we scour the PlayON price list and look for ways of saving budget for those intent on splashing the cash up front.

If you’re new to PlayON, read this season’s introduction article for more information. If you’re already a seasoned PlayON player, read on for our selection of this week’s targets…

Gameweek 11 Picks

Goalkeeper – Gerhard Tremmel
The German is set for a rare first-team outing due to Michel Vorm’s one-match suspension for Swansea’s home clash with Stoke this Sunday. Tremmel will set you back a mere 6.4m in this week’s PlayON player price list and offers a cut-price route into a defence that has conceded a single goal in the last three league matches. For those who decide to look elsewhere, City’s new number one Costel Pantilimon remains relatively cheap – he comes in at 7.5m ahead of the trip to out-of-sorts Sunderland and has chalked up two clean sheets in his last three appearances in all competitions.

Defender – James Collins
Back in contention after recovering from a hamstring injury, the Hammers centre-half is set to replace the stricken Winston Reid for Saturday’s visit to Norwich. Sam Allardyce’s side have conceded just a single goal on the road all season and with the Canaries expected to supply plenty of crosses into the visitors’ box, Collins’ clearances will benefit from the PlayON scoring matrix. Given that the home side have scored three times in the last seven Gameweeks, a clean sheet looks on the card for Collins, who looks a snip at 7.6m. Chelsea’s home game with West Brom looks enticing for Gary Cahill (8.1m) if he continues ahead of David Luiz, having replaced the Brazilian in the midweek Champions League win over Schalke, while Glen Johnson, at just 8.4m, is set to host Fulham at Anfield and has recovered from the illness that forced him out of last week’s trip to Arsenal.

Midfielder – Steven Pienaar
If we hadn’t opted for Philippe Coutinho last time around, he’d be this week’s midfield headline act. The Brazilian is available for a budget-friendly 7.0m and is poised for his first start since recovering from a shoulder injury at home to Fulham tomorrow. Instead, we look to the blue half of Merseyside for inspiration. Pienaar is priced at 8.5m for Everton’s trip to basement-dwellers Crystal Palace – the Eagles have yet to produce a single clean sheet all season and the South African has already found the net since his return from injury in mid-October. Tottenham’s Aaron Lennon is another cheap option on the flank. Priced at just 6.9m, he looks set for another start at home to Newcastle on Sunday after being rested from European duties in midweek.

Forward – Samuel Eto’o
Having bagged a brace in the midweek Champions League win over Schalke, the Chelsea forward welcomes West Brom to Stamford Bridge in fine form. With Fernando Torres sidelined due to a muscle injury, Eto’o, available for 10.3m, is set to retain the lone forward role against a Baggies side which shipped four to Liverpool on their previous road trip. Villa’s Christian Benteke comes in at 9.9m and is desperate to end his three-game drought at home to Cardiff tomorrow – both players look strong options for those unable to find the budget to bring in one, or both, of Suarez (12.1m) and Aguero (12.0m) for games against Fulham and Sunderland respectively.

How To Play

PlayON is weekly Fantasy football so you can dip in and out of playing throughout the season. Once your starting XI is built (you can keep changing your team right up to 2 hours before the first kick-off – 13.00 on Sat afternoon), you can compete for cash. Entering a multiplayer game for a set stake, you’ll have a chance of winning your share of the pot should you finish high enough in the rankings.

Similarly, you can challenge other players to one-on-one games, selecting the amount at stake. The likes of Robbie Fowler, Les Ferdinand and OptaJoe are all playing the game and are there to be challenged for free or for £1. The Fantasy Football Scout team is also available to be challenged and has a 57% win rate to this point.

The Fantasy Football Scout Game

We’ve also got a £2 multiplayer game, dedicated to our community, which is now open and the prize pot is building.

Challenge Your Mates

You can also set up your own multiplayer games with your mates to play for free bragging rights or for cash. Create your own game at www.playon.co.uk.

Finally, a reminder that we have published a strategy guide, offering some tips for getting the most from your PlayON lineup, right here.

You have to be over 18 to enter cash games at PlayON. If you do wager some cash, please remember to gamble responsibly. PlayON is licensed and regulated by the UK Gambling Commission.

    Incase you missed it:

    Some thoughts on gameweek 11:

    CAPTAIN

Suarez - Liverpool are scoring 1.8 goals per game and Suarez’s 6 goals in the last 5 league games bodes well for Fantasy managers

    2. Aguero - Despite playing much better at home, City are still scoring 1.6 goals per match in away games, the third best away attacking form in the league.

    3. Sturridge - Holding and captaining Sturridge this Gameweek is perfectly acceptable. He is averaging 3.5 shots and 1 key pass per game which backs up his 4 goals and 2 assists in the last five matches.

    HEAVY HITTERS

Manchester United are ranked 14th in the league in goals conceded, with an average of a goal conceded at Old Trafford. After Arsenal’s impressive win against Dortmund there is no reason to believe United will keep a clean sheet against the current league leaders. Despite Ramsey’s continued Fantasy returns, both Özil and Cazorla have better underlying numbers and should return more points in the long-term.

Van Persie and Rooney are the obvious United players to own, given the lack of Fantasy output from midfield, and their inclusion comes from a combined total of 5 goals and 5 assists in the last three games. With the leaky defence, Van Persie and Rooney are the major factors in keeping United competitive this season, thrusting the Moyes lead team to 1.7 goals per game.

It’s telling that Southampton’s conceded goal last Gameweek was a freak Begovic clearance bouncing unfortunately for Boruc. Since Gameweek 3 they have only conceded two goals: the aforementioned one and away at Old Trafford. Now is the time to play your Southampton defenders, with the next two fixtures being Arsenal and Chelsea away. Clyne offers the cheapest route into the Saints defence, priced at £4.6.

Tottenham are labouring in attack under Villas-Boas this season but are second ranked defensive team in the league, conceding 0.5 goals per game. A home game against Hull is a great bet for a clean sheet, and Dawson is still the safest long term prospect in the Tottenham defence.

Chelsea will be fired up to deliver a result against West Brom after Mourinho’s tough response after their loss against Newcastle. Terry is Mourinho’s man and has played every minute of every game in the league this season.

    PUNTS

Eto’s brace against Schalke was a reminder of the Cameroonian’s quality and he will surely start against West Brom after that display. He seemed rusty at the beginning of the season but could start to show his worth with Torres missing out due to injury.

Benteke hasn’t scored since his return from injury but has put up decent numbers with 5 shots on target and 2 off in addition to 3 chances created in two starts and one substitute appearance. Given the plethora of forward options he’s perhaps not a priority purchase for most Fantasy managers but Aston Villa have attractive fixtures in November and December and he could be a shrewd pickup.

With all the focus on Aguero and Silva (now injured), Nasri’s Fantasy potential is being ignored by many. Owned by only 2.5% of Fantasy managers he could be a great purchase for those chasing in their mini-leagues. However, be aware that he has only played a full match in the league once this season and is always a rotation risk given Manchester City’s strength in depth.

Swansea’s Bony hasn’t started the last two league games, has lost the trust of Fantasy managers and dropped £0.6 in price and has scored only once since Gameweek 1.

Ok so going back to Forca's comment about sheep, it reminded me of a finance saying: "Consensus isn't always wrong". More than most seasons, tit feels that his year has been about buying form players.

A sheep strategy of Ramsey Yaya, Suarez, Barkley, Aguero and Januzaj would have done you beautifully. same for the Saints defence.

Effectively this ia "momentum" trade and there's no reason to see why it can't keep going. It's much harder to gain points from an off form player that's returning (say benteke) than to follow the crowd and buy the players on fire. This also builds you team value.

Personlly I'm going to keep sheeping up the table for a while

Yeah. People find a million ways not to follow the points. Club allegiances. Wanting to be different. Forcing yourself into a corner through previous arguments. Superstition. How much they like the player.

At the end of the day you get the points (you succeed) or you don't (you fail). Simples.

I see the Ramsey thing as one big ego test. People that are convinced they are better the vast majority of players and see themselves as mavericks (assholes) still don't have him and probably won't get him.

They're falling away and their pride will only hurt them.

          I still think there's a chance he won't.

It's very slim and it depends on how fit others are but Moyes COULD opt to go

Jones behind Carrick and Cleverley with Rooney pushed to left of a front 3. I'd be surprised if he did, but it's possible

Ramsey is in for Silva now, leaving B. Turner as my only available sub (and I have Kolarov)

I've already used my FT, so it would be -4 for me. I can start Dawson or R.Morrison so I may just live with it.

    Would welcome input please.

With Silva out, I can either play Whittingham and save transfer and thus have x2 nice transfers over international break or I could transfer Silva out for a mid of my choice. Currently looking at:

Lallana (cheap but will get game time in international break = a worry) - but playing Hull
Oscar/Hazard etc for Chelsea cover - again international worries though Beliguim have x2 home matches rather than the long distance that Oscar will be facing
Coutiniho - add my to my Liverpool attacking coverage with Sturridge.

I am guessing some Chelsea coverage re fixtures, though saving transfer is also viable option.

FFS, I have been thinking who to replace Michu with the entire week and now Silva gets himself injured too. Already used my FT to bring in Harper and bench my Vorm.

    Now, Michu > Coutinho/Nasri for a hit

Then, Silva > Wally next week?

Took a hit to get Silva in for Michu, do I….

    A) Take another hit to get Silva out? (likely be for Countinho)
    B) Grin, bare and hope Robbie Brady makes a miraculous recovery?

Tough one. I'd say lesson learnt, take it a one week blip and wait until next GW before making anymore transfers.

Terrible news about Silva, so, need your help:

Play this week Mertesacker (from bench) or sold Silva for -4 and buy Yaya/Nasri??

depends if you want nasri/yaya long term, if you do then take the hit

If I already have Oscar, but want to sell him after this gameweek, maybe take a hit for Hazard and play with them against WBA, not crazy??

    Coleman-Shaw-Terry-Dawson
    Yaya-Lallana-Ramsey
    Lukaku-AGuero-Studge
    (Sess, Brady, Brayford)

Thoughts on whether i should take a hit for Studge -> Suarez?

    Thanks

What should be my priority for this week?

    A) Vorm -> Pantilimon/Guzan

    B) Lewis -> Harper

    C) Michu -> Nasri (possibly for a -4)?

No playing keeper for this GW atm
