Last week’s picks delivered a couple of clean sheets at the back, though Philippe Coutinho’s bench role at the Emirates and Fernando Torres’ blank away to Newcastle meant we failed to bring home attacking returns.

This week, with both Luis Suarez and Sergio Aguero looking strong options in attack, we scour the PlayON price list and look for ways of saving budget for those intent on splashing the cash up front.

If you’re new to PlayON, read this season’s introduction article for more information. If you’re already a seasoned PlayON player, read on for our selection of this week’s targets…

Gameweek 11 Picks

Goalkeeper – Gerhard Tremmel
The German is set for a rare first-team outing due to Michel Vorm’s one-match suspension for Swansea’s home clash with Stoke this Sunday. Tremmel will set you back a mere 6.4m in this week’s PlayON player price list and offers a cut-price route into a defence that has conceded a single goal in the last three league matches. For those who decide to look elsewhere, City’s new number one Costel Pantilimon remains relatively cheap – he comes in at 7.5m ahead of the trip to out-of-sorts Sunderland and has chalked up two clean sheets in his last three appearances in all competitions.

Defender – James Collins
Back in contention after recovering from a hamstring injury, the Hammers centre-half is set to replace the stricken Winston Reid for Saturday’s visit to Norwich. Sam Allardyce’s side have conceded just a single goal on the road all season and with the Canaries expected to supply plenty of crosses into the visitors’ box, Collins’ clearances will benefit from the PlayON scoring matrix. Given that the home side have scored three times in the last seven Gameweeks, a clean sheet looks on the card for Collins, who looks a snip at 7.6m. Chelsea’s home game with West Brom looks enticing for Gary Cahill (8.1m) if he continues ahead of David Luiz, having replaced the Brazilian in the midweek Champions League win over Schalke, while Glen Johnson, at just 8.4m, is set to host Fulham at Anfield and has recovered from the illness that forced him out of last week’s trip to Arsenal.

Midfielder – Steven Pienaar
If we hadn’t opted for Philippe Coutinho last time around, he’d be this week’s midfield headline act. The Brazilian is available for a budget-friendly 7.0m and is poised for his first start since recovering from a shoulder injury at home to Fulham tomorrow. Instead, we look to the blue half of Merseyside for inspiration. Pienaar is priced at 8.5m for Everton’s trip to basement-dwellers Crystal Palace – the Eagles have yet to produce a single clean sheet all season and the South African has already found the net since his return from injury in mid-October. Tottenham’s Aaron Lennon is another cheap option on the flank. Priced at just 6.9m, he looks set for another start at home to Newcastle on Sunday after being rested from European duties in midweek.

Forward – Samuel Eto’o
Having bagged a brace in the midweek Champions League win over Schalke, the Chelsea forward welcomes West Brom to Stamford Bridge in fine form. With Fernando Torres sidelined due to a muscle injury, Eto’o, available for 10.3m, is set to retain the lone forward role against a Baggies side which shipped four to Liverpool on their previous road trip. Villa’s Christian Benteke comes in at 9.9m and is desperate to end his three-game drought at home to Cardiff tomorrow – both players look strong options for those unable to find the budget to bring in one, or both, of Suarez (12.1m) and Aguero (12.0m) for games against Fulham and Sunderland respectively.

How To Play

PlayON is weekly Fantasy football so you can dip in and out of playing throughout the season. Once your starting XI is built (you can keep changing your team right up to 2 hours before the first kick-off – 13.00 on Sat afternoon), you can compete for cash. Entering a multiplayer game for a set stake, you’ll have a chance of winning your share of the pot should you finish high enough in the rankings.

Similarly, you can challenge other players to one-on-one games, selecting the amount at stake. The likes of Robbie Fowler, Les Ferdinand and OptaJoe are all playing the game and are there to be challenged for free or for £1. The Fantasy Football Scout team is also available to be challenged and has a 57% win rate to this point.

The Fantasy Football Scout Game

We’ve also got a £2 multiplayer game, dedicated to our community, which is now open and the prize pot is building.

Challenge Your Mates

You can also set up your own multiplayer games with your mates to play for free bragging rights or for cash. Create your own game at www.playon.co.uk.

Finally, a reminder that we have published a strategy guide, offering some tips for getting the most from your PlayON lineup, right here.

You have to be over 18 to enter cash games at PlayON. If you do wager some cash, please remember to gamble responsibly. PlayON is licensed and regulated by the UK Gambling Commission.

Got Silva in for Michu because he was out for a month and about to drop in price. Now Silva is out for a month..sonofab*tch

I know early transfer are always risky but I rarely ever get caught out. Got either Clyne or Coleman to come in for Silva. Clyne (HULL) or Coleman (palace)?

No, not for a hit. Look at Sturridge's record this year, incredibly consistent. So you'd be hoping for a monster week from Suarez to repay the move. Save it and do it next GW.

    Silva to Nasri DONE

Considered YAYA as he has been great all season and when SIlva is out he usually plays further forward with someone like Milner coming in, but simply couldnt afford him so hopefully Nasri will smash them in for me.

Will see how he does this week.... no doubt CHE have better fixtures... and Oscar could have been a contender but Will see how Chelsea perform once more before contemplating doubling up on CHE mid.....

Anyone feel strongly on another Silva TO option?

Not much. His immense scoring spree started two matches before Silva returned and the only blank he drew was when Silva came back. City will always destroy the weak defences and struggle away from home if opponent plays hard and wise.

Anyone know if my team will come out of the game now or remain as a ghost team?

Oh dear. On account of Silva news? Or because Ramsey keeps scoring?

Best of luck with whatever you decide to obsess about in life after FPL 😉

Silva out... Suarez now the clear (c) favourite over Aguero? Or do you think it won't affect him?

yes, I think he was the clear choice anyway but no Silva is a knock to City

Ramsey discussing it above, but, for me it was always a Liverpool forward anyway. I think they play a little differently without him, a little slower, a little wider, but it should be fairly a comprehensive victory, even with away form.

It was already on Suarez, this just confirmed it for me.

I mean, Silva is involved in pretty much everything good City do going forward

      Someone crucify him

      Then Kolarov can play left-wing

I see Brady's a doubt again. I'm thinking of just cutting my losses with him now. Straight swap for Januzaj anyone?

So annoyed about the silva news, that's twice he has done it to me this season while the yaya owners club are sitting there snug as you like! Just another case of casuals leading the way.

Too late for me on that one. And it was for a hit. Now I might have to spend more to get rid of Silva. It's all going well.

I don't know what to do

I can bring in Ramsey from my bench, but then i only have B. Turner as a fit sub and Kolarov. This means that if just one player (other than Kolarov no-shows) I'm down to 10.
