And we’re back in the game. Last week’s strike by David Silva and the shut-out for Manuel Pellegrini’s men gave us some much-needed winnings as we look to claw back a season deficit from our friends at Paddy Power. Boosted by some profit, we clutch another tenner and appear at Paddy’s door to inspect what this weekend’s Scout Pick inspired markets can offer.

Before we get going with those, however, a reminder that Paddy Power are also offering those yet to register an account some enhanced odds on Sunday’s big match. You can get 5/1 on a United home win against Arsenal in the tea-time kick-off. Bets are limited to £10 and are open to those without a Paddy Power account.

Returning to Saturday’s matches and our first Scout Pick market finds us looking towards Stamford Bridge where Oscar and his Chelsea team-mates will host West Brom. Steve Clarke arrives to face his old master having suffered a damaging 4-1 drubbing at Anfield last time out. Chelsea, meanwhile, recovered from their own setback at Newcastle with a fine 3-0 Champions League win over Schalke. Oscar has netted three league goals in front of his own fans and carries a big threat from the Chelsea midfield for the Baggies to counter. Paddy have odds of 5/1 on a Oscar goal with a Chelsea clean sheet and we will snap that up as our bet of the week for £4 of our stake.

It was Luis Suarez that put West Brom to the sword last weekend – his classy first half hat-trick banishing the Baggies to defeat, whilst putting the Uruguayan in the driving seat for the Fantasy armband ahead of this weekend. Suarez will face a forlorn Fulham defence with thousands backing him for further goals. Paddy certainly fancy his chances but are still dangling odds of 5/1 on Suarez scoring two or more goals with a Liverpool clean sheet. That’s enough to tempt £3 of our remaining funds.

That leaves us with just £3 to wager on Adam Lallana’s prospects at home to Hull City. The Saints skipper has been in inspired form this term and, fresh from an senior England call-up, should go into the Tigers clash full of confidence. Paddy have a Lallana goal with a Southampton clean sheet against Hull at 13/2 – sealing the fate of our final few quid.

Register and Bet £10 And Get £20 Free

If you’re new to Paddy Power, then you can take up any of these odds and get yourself a bonus. You can sign up via this site and get a free £20 when you register an account and bet a tenner.

Finally, of course, we should state that all these offers are only available to those aged 18 and over and are subject to Paddy Power’s terms and conditions. Also, if you’re going to bet, always gamble responsibly.

Nothing solid, a friend of mine on Facebook. He is a City fan.

I am still going to bench Silva anyway, even if it is remotely true.

I'm unsure myself, surely he's not doing mind games vs bloody Sunderland, and would rest him for the internationl break?

I'm ready to believe. I'm wondering why the bookies don't all remove their odds on Silva.

They usually clean it for the injured player.

Casual = an FPL player who spends little or no time managing their FPL team. They typically log on twice per week (max). Once on a Friday evening / Saturday morning to do their transfer (take out any injured player and replace with the highest available overall point scorer in the position for the money available) and again on a Monday night to check that they are still beating their so-called "FPL expert" rivals (*sends text / email to taunt*).

Based on this season its the way to be succesful, and there is certainly nothing wrong with that.

Doesn't it seem sad that we can spend 10+ hours a week considering and discussing options. Some guy does 1 transfer in ten weeks and sits 20 points behind you.

I agree, but part of the fun is weighing up the options and debating the permutations.

For example, this week I've kept RVP and not got Suarez or Aguero because RVP's come into form and is playing his old club, City's poor record at the SoL and with no Silva or Kompany to provide the engine, Liverpool tending to implode at the moment we all expect them to do well and the Sturridge/Suarez "partnership" looking more like a marriage of convenience last week.

It will probably blow up in my face but that is sound logic. And I'm an academic, so I love logic, and I refuse to believe that this game isn't ultimately logical.

This is where the perception is to say the least flawed. The fact is one does not have to log into their team regularly to manage their team, I rarely do so each week, I decided what I want to do, alter it and leave it. Many players operate in a simliar fashion as you mentioned above in my MLs, however are seasoned players with a full grasp of what they are doing. Because they don't overcomplate things doesn't make them casual.

OK, I accept your point about logging on, but I would also include looking at other FF sites (like this one) and "thinking about" their FPL teams. The casual does neither outside of one or two short windows in the week.

Who's to be benched? I'm a 343 guy all the way but seriously considering 433 today. Madness?

    Boruc

    Johnson - Walker - Coleman - Chico

    Özil - Ramsey - Nasri

    Kun - Stu - Lukaku

    Oscar on the bench. Stupid?

Not so obvious for me. Ok, I like FPL, but it's the game of games, I want United to win, and I sure hope Rambo won't be involved. So I'm thinking of Vidic/Bassong > Ramsey and pray for a Ramsey yellow + no involvement and watch the game as a fan

Playing both Ozil and Ramsey as I have a bench that compares with Heskey's scoring skills.

Very similar conundrum here - I've gone for Januzai purely on Barkley playng from the bench last week. Could be role reversal.

Chico for the nailed on start.
