Our Saturday morning regular has been shifted a few hours forward, as we roll out a trio of overlooked alternatives for your Friday night consideration. Arsenal’s Spanish schemer, Swansea’s big-money summer signing and United’s budget-friendly centre-half all arrive on our radar – crucially, as the fixtures pick up pace over the festive period, all three look strong options for this weekend and beyond:

Santi Cazorla

Despite returning to the Arsenal first-team in Gameweek 8, the little Spaniard remains firmly under the radar. With Aaron Ramsey and Mesut Ozil sitting in 58% and 32% of Fantasy Premier League (FPL) teams respectively, Cazorla continues to be overlooked yet, with a goal and maximum bonus points in his previous home fixture against Liverpool, he’s starting to hint at the form that harvested 205 FPL points in his debut campaign in England’s top-flight.

Having scored for his country in the recent international break, Cazorla is in fine form as the league leaders seek to take advantage of three home games in four. Certainly, the visit of Southampton won’t be easy but with games against the likes of Hull and Cardiff directly after, he could be set to prosper. Coming in at 9.6 in FPL – with a 2% ownership – Cazorla will set you back 8.7 in the Sky Sports game and 6.0 in the Sun Dream Team, and, as his 12 goals and 13 assists last season suggest, his attacking contribution will be vital as Wenger’s side look to build on a run of four successive wins at the Emirates.

Wilfried Bony

It’s been a stop-start campaign for the Ivorian since arriving on these shores during the summer. Michael Laudrup may have splashed £12m on Bony’s services but a lack of full pre-season has seen him garner more game time in the Europa League, with five starts and five sub appearances in the Premier League an indication of his stuttering domestic campaign.

Nonetheless, the stats are impressive. Over 18 appearances in all competitions for the Swans, Bony has produced 10 goals and three assists and, having bagged a brace in the previous league encounter at home to Stoke, he looks a secure starter against struggling Fulham tomorrow afternoon. Certainly, with Michu still sidelined due to knee and ankle problems, Laudrup can ill-afford to bench the new boy – Bony’s impact is summed up by the fact that his side have scored 11 goals in the five games he has started, compared to four strikes in the other six. At 7.4 in FPL, 8.0 in the Sky Sports game and 3.5 in the Sun Dream Team, he also has games against Newcastle, Hull and Norwich in the next five to maintain his recent rise to prominence.

Jonny Evans

Having started five of the last six at the heart of United’s back-four, the Northern Ireland international looks to have established himself as a regular in David Moyes’ plans. With the new manager utilising Rio Ferdinand somewhat sparingly, Evans has been handed the chance to impress at the back, with his prospects further boosted by Moyes’ preference for Phil Jones in central midfield.

With Jones now a doubt for the weekend trip to Cardiff, Evans is set to slot in alongside fit-again Nemanja Vidic at centre-half as United look to build on the clean sheet accrued against Arsenal in the previous Gameweek. As the fixtures arrive quickly over the festive period, Evans – at 5.0 in FPL, 7.2 in the Sky Sports game and 5.0 in the Sun Dream Team, – seems the least susceptible to his manager’s rotational whims and offers a relatively budget-friendly route into a backline that has a very kind schedule from Gameweek 14 (EVE, NEW, avl, WHM, hul, nor) up until the New Year.

Rooney might have to play link in midfield and attack. Hence Kun

I did K.Davis > Krul and Baines > Terry this week.

Probably a week late on Krul but still a better option than Boruc.

I went with a little flare getting in Walcott for Michu as I hope this will be solid in the future. Good luck this week I saw we were paired together in Thomas' doubles game so I wanted to make sure you were all set. Those transfers look good

The Bookies Picks Vs The Scout Picks: The DZ Post

Earlier this week I posted the bookies picks, which looked into who bet365 have priced as the most likely to keep a clean sheet and the most likely to score at anytime. From this I put together a bookies team - bet365 XI.

You can see the full post here:
    http://www.fantasyfootballscout.co.uk/comment/6033344

Or for a quick overview, read this: Bet365 have listed Hull and Man United as joint favourites to keep a clean sheet, whilst Southampton are the least. Ageuro is the bookies favourite forward to find the net. And if you were to put £1 on the bet365 XI team to do well you could earn an amazing £7,130!

    Bet365's XI:

    Harper
    Davies - Evra - Mertesacker - Terry
    Ramsey - Sessegnon - Hazard
    Aguero - Remy - RVP

The scout picks and the bookies picks are very similar, having 6 of the same players in the scout picks starting 11. The scout picks also has Remy on the bench, who the bookies have in their starting 11. We also have two very similar picks. The scout have gone for Ozil and Rooney, where as the bookies picks includes Ramsey and RVP.
This game week looks very close between the two teams. Next weeks bookies picks will be posted on Tuesday next week where I'll include all of the bookies picks, bet365's XI, how I got on with the bets and to see which team scored the most points, the scout picks or bet365's XI.

The rule I use to pick the keeper is the team with the lowest odds to keep a clean sheet. And they also have a spot for a defender.

Hmmm, Rooney for safety and something to look forward to on Sunday. But my gut tells me that's there's going to be lots of goals in the Merseyside derby, so Suarez is a good pick.

I do have both of those, but I'm going for Rooney, simply because I brought him in for a -4. I also brought in Aguero and Suarez for a -4 and captained them straight away for their big hauls.

          Contemplated ditching Ozil for him.

Ozil is a lot of money for not much in return. RVP is a lot of money for a clear cut captain choice virtually any week in FPL.

would have benched Collins this week and played him next week.

Luiz. But not because of him per say, but because of Mou's persistent tactic to get Luiz to worship him. Love Mou though, and the sooner Luiz plays for Chelsea as he does for Brazil, the sooner we will start keeping clean sheets

Rooney's average in games where RVP does not play the full 90 minutes: 6.8 points per game
Rooney average in games where RVP does play the full 90 minutes: 6.4 points per game
RVP's average in games where Rooney does not play the full 90 minutes: 7 points per game
RVP's average where Rooney does play the full 90 minutes: 6 points per game

Yes I know this is a small sample size given that it is early in the season and that these may not be the most telling statistics but what can be inferred from this is that having RVP play along side Rooney for the full ninety minutes and vice versa does not make that large of a difference on either's returns. Both have given steady returns to owners that have put their faith in them especially recently and there is no reason to not captain Rooney with a favorable fixture, such as this week when United play Cardiff considering the minimal difference between Rooney or Van Persie playing without each other versus with the other forward for the entire game.

As long as Rooney keeps getting those points that doesn't make one shell out the extra dough for Van, I'd be fine with keeping him.

This week for me it's Rooney I could end up regretting it but Cardiff has allowed the most chances this year in the Prem so even if Rooney or RVP isnt the top scorer I still expect a good amount of attacking returns. This plus Spurs and Everton are relatively solid at the back

Aguero out from captain since Spurs is solid on defense. But yet we are talking about City has really dangerous attackers. Suarez is on fire but against Everton at away game. But we know it's derby anyway, there should be a goal at least. But I hope clean sheet for Coleman though. Rooney is the only left of your choice now since against Cardiff but it's away game.

I am thinking of transferring Townsend to JWP. Which will then allow me to get Walcott and Rooney instead of Ozil and Lukaku whom I have.
    Townsend->JWP.
