Festive rotation and Mark and Granville’s rivalry were among the key discussions taking place amongst the community this week. Elsewhere, veteran poster, Christina, upped his game to deliver a pair of popular hot topics; we take a look back on these, whilst rounding off with our usual focus on the tournaments active in the community.

The Hottest Topics

Just how much rotation will there be during the hectic festive fixture list? Greenwindmill has been offering some crumbs of comfort with his detailed analysis of how the team sheets panned out over winter last season. For a number of sides, in particular Everton and Southampton, he found that rotation was less severe than we expected. The Serjeant has also been looking at festive rotation and in particular to investigate which teams have the most cluttered Christmas.

For those looking to scrape the very darkest depths of the Premier League barrel Christina has been on hand to look at the slender pickings among the worst performing clubs. Jonathan Walters and Dimitar Berbatov are among those ultra-differentials being offered up.

Not sure what they’ve been putting in the water at Christina’s place, but the community verteran has been flying this week, notching up a second hot topic nomination, this time looking ahead to the January Wildcard and the best time to throw it down.

The tussle for supremacy among ScoutCast rivals Mark and Granville has captured the imagination of Just A Hat this week, who wonders if Granville will maintain his mini-league lead. Lateriser12 feels that Granville is set thrash Mark this season, while Tinkerman envisages a miraculous comeback for Mark.

Among those to answer our hot topic about whether Christmas is the season for giving our bench fodder an overhaul, or taking a risk that they won’t be needed was Fratboy, who is seizing the moment to ditch Cardiff’s Jordan Mutch.

Captaining a player in an early Saturday kick off is often seen as the nemesis of any superstitious Fantasy Football manager. Luckily Nice To Finally Michu was on hand to run roughshod over this old wives tale. His analysis of captain options in the early games this season so far show that whether a player starts at 12:45pm or 3pm makes no difference to their chances of racking up a respectable points haul. I also dropped my monkey’s foot in surprise.

The Community Leagues

Thomass67 tells us he is launching a doubles ‘Big Bash League’ shortly. For more information and to register ahead of the November 29 deadline click here.

TorresMagic’s Last Man Standing lost another 32 managers this week leaving 586 left. Myo Min Thant leads seeding for the FPL Open and Beric leads for the Elite 64 competition. More details can be found here.

Meanwhile the FFS UEFA FA Cup Tournament is underway this weekend. A review of last week’s stage and the latest on this week’s can be seen here.

Have to, just have to. Thanks for all the help on here. I have been on the price rise, bandwagon train all season, and have gone up from 1.5m to 37k in the space of about a month or two.

82 pt week AND heading into this next gameweek looking pretty immense.

    Krul
    Ivano Terry Yanga-Mbiwa
    Ramsey Gerrard Hazard Brady
    Aguero(c) Suarez Rooney(v)

    Boruc, Janusaj, Burner, Clyne

Thinking its time to get rid of Brady and/or Janusaj and maybe Clyne, but not prepared to use a transfer this upcoming week.

Thanks again for all the help on here. Time to keep climbing!!!

Any recommendations for a defender under £4.5m?

So i just checked you team, and first of well done on the Negredo C. But you have too many eggs in too few basktets. 3 southampton all in defense (!), 3 arsenal, 3 Everton two Chelsea, two tottenham and then one city. You need to spread around your coverage more and not having any of SAR is really hurting you although this week you need to focus on transfering out one of the Sothampton defenders and you should start Walker ahead of the other

Appreciate the effort mate. You just got yourself a bag of spud 😉

But it isn't my team. Just realized I haven't update my link (I thought I did).

            Here's the correct link http://fantasy.premierleague.com/entry/9199/history/

I'm planning to bring in Rooney or Lukaku soon as Remy is just my short term punt. (Thus the GJ Lukaku or Vlaar Rooney bit)
Sess is gonna be my punt GW 15 onwards as well (replacing Jedi if I go for Lukaku or Morison if I go with Rooney).
And also I'm keeping Oscar Hazard as Chelsea's playing well under 4-3-3 and got a nice run of fixture. Will swap one out for Walcott if he's picking up form and the fixtures are clearer.

    what I'm working with:

    Migs, Lewis
    Clyne, Rosenior, Coleman, Burner, Rat
    Ravel, Gerrard, Hazard, Januzaj, Ramsey
    Suarez, Aguero, Rooney

    1 FT and 1.4 itb..would you

    A) stick
    B) Coleman -> Terry/Ivanovic (feeling Ivanovic more)
    C) Coleman -> Merte/Kos

or should I be considering something else? would POTENTIALLY like to eventually ship out Rooney for Remy/Lukaku in order to upgrade a second defender (like Rosenior) and maybe Ramsey -> Wally

Why sell rooney for lukaku both are expected similar returns maybe rooney slightly better in the next few games. The other however is doable but i understand you need to sell rooney to fund them. If you wait for a 2 ft and then do -4 with 3 transfers at least you see how the players do and then make a final decision with minimal damage.

So if Baines is out how does it affect the rest of everton? a change to a 3-5-2 with pienaar LWB and Alacarz in defense? Mirallas on all set pieces apart from penos? Barry taking penalties? Lukaku on penos? A few players could be gold dust

Hey peeps 😉 so 3 questions i have

1- should i play Bacuna next week against Sunderland as he has been playing well and Sunderland are baaadd or play Sessegnon even though ill have Krul in goal and Remy up top??

2- sell Macgregor to Speroni next week as my backup keeper as palace have 2 decent home games??

3- who still has that greedy little man Townsend? 45 shots and 1 goal says it all.

    Boruc (Davis)
    Terry GJ Murner (Clyne Rosenior)
    Hazard Ramsey Mirallas Ravel (Brady)
    Rooney Suarez Aguero
    2 million in bank
    1 FT
    Over the next 2 weeks
    A) Rooney + Brady to Lukaku/Benteke + Wally
    B) Brady + Mirallas to Whitts/Amalfitano + Wally
    C) Brady to Sessegnon and Rosenior to 4.6 defender

Thoughts? Cheers.. Rooney being on 4 yellows and Manu stuttering in form is putting me off keepin him especially as SAR have become very expensive to hold

Cheers - current plan is to get Rooney in GW15 - he looks in great nick and I think United attack will be worthwhile for their run to the Jan WC. Strikers have no need to pick up yellows so he should be able to avoid it I reckon. As for the rest, that is a concern, but Moyes can't afford to drop many more points so I think Rooney will play every game.

I can't get all the above 3 in unforts - currently looking at leaving Wally out I think, but will asses after this week. Nasri -> one of them in GW14 most probably.

          Your plans?

Congrats on Mirallas 🙂 .. he may actually get back to 7.5 and recover our cash if he performs vs stoke(no doubt he will with form and set pieces in his favor). I'd have said Walcott is your priority but i'm slowly leaning towards ignoring him. december may not be the best time to get a player just back from injury playing in a team with a gr8 bench/squad. I honestly own rooney and i've not been blown away by his recent performances and manu's either. tough one

Nasri was playing on his weaker side was he not? I think he prefers the right so that might have affected his performance. Navas only played because Silva is injured, however he did very well and its possible both players will be competing for a spot when Silva returns.
