Fantasy Football Scout is delighted to announce a number of new recruits as part of a handful of changes taking place across the production, editorial and community management sides of the site.

First up, Demi has joined us as our team news correspondent. He has been an outstanding contributor to the site for a number of years, most notably with his swift and reliable match day line up posts. Given his experience we thought it was about time we invited him to get more involved with the site and take over our team news section. He’ll also be penning most of our weekly team news articles, ensuring that the community is kept notified of the latest press conference and team developments – in addition he will be continuing to keep us updated of the very latest line up news as they are announced on match days.

We have also appointed our first production editor Tim K, who will be on hand to take on sub-editing duties. Tim will be checking that we dot our i’s and cross our t’s in the correct manner before the articles are published.

Somewhat belatedly, we want to formally introduce another new recruit on the editorial side, Roscola. As many of you will have already noticed, he has already done a sterling job in his role as our resident crystal ball gazer in charge of the Frisking the Fixtures articles, and is also a member of the moderation team.

In addition, one of our moderating team members Green Windmill has kindly taken on an extra role helping tweak the Watchlist each week. His Watchlist research behind the scenes each week has already proved invaluable and we are pleased he has agreed to help out on a more formal basis.

Finally, from next week I’ll be taking on the newly created role of  managing editor,  helping Mark and Paul out with some of the behind the scenes running of the site as well as continuing to manage community issues.

I trust you will join us in welcoming our new recruits. We also hope to announce further additions to the team in due course.

For more details about those working behind the scenes at Fantasy Football Scout visit our recently updated  Meet The Team page.

    The Bookies Picks:

These picks are something I'm going to be doing before each game week. This insight into the bookies gives us their views on who they think are most likely to keep a clean sheet or score a goal at any time. Their detailed research on statistics and data can surely help point us in the right direction to gain those points we all desire.

    To Keep a Clean Sheet:
    Everton: 2.00
    Man City: 2.00
    Chelsea: 2.20
    Liverpool: 2.20
    Arsenal: 2.25
    Aston Villa: 2.50
    Norwich: 2.50
    West Ham: 2.50
    Newcastle: 2.75
    Tottenham: 3.25
    Man United: 3.40
    Sunderland: 4.00
    Crystal Palace: 4.33
    Fulham: 4.50
    West Brom: 4.50
    Stoke: 5.00
    Hull: 5.50
    Cardiff: 6.00
    Southampton: 6.00
    Swansea: 9.00

To Score at Anytime: These players are from the captains poll.
    Sergio Aguero: 1.72
    Luis Suarez: 2.00
    Álvaro Negredo: 2.20
    Daniel Sturridge: 2.20
    Loic Remy: 2.30
    Olivier Giroud: 2.30
    Christian Benteke: 2.75
    Kevin Nolan: 2.75
    Romelu Lukaku: 2.75
    Wayne Rooney: 3.00
    Eden Hazard: 3.40
    Aaron Ramsey: 3.75
    Mesut Ozil: 4.00
    Stéphane Sessègnon: 4.00
    Jesús Navas: 5.00
    Robin Van Persie: Not Listed.

    The Bookies Team: The Rules
The bookies team formation will be 4-3-3 each week and it doesn't comply with FPL's budget constraints, as I feel that it'd change a lot of what I'm trying to portray.
Goal Keeper: this will be selected from the team who has the lowest odds to keep a clean sheet.
Defenders: this will be selected from the four highest teams who have the lowest odds to keep a clean sheet - the keeper and one defender will be from the same team.
Midfielders + Forwards: this will be selected from the three midfielders and three forwards who have the lowest odds to score at anytime from the captain poll.

    Bet365's XI:
    Howard
    Jagielka - Zabaleta - Terry - G. Johnson
    Nolan - Hazard - Ramsey
    Aguero - Suarez - Giroud

    The Bet:
I'm going to place bets on each of the GK + DEF's teams to keep a clean sheet, and all the MID's + FWD's to score at anytime as singles, along with the scouts picks to see which ones, if any, are more profitable.

    Overall:
    Bookies Picks -
    Points: 67
    Bet: -£0.50

    Scout Picks -
    Points: 78
    Bet: +£0.30

Got another suggestion for your tool Garg: show what your rank would be if you got your captain decision and/or bench 100% right each week.

The captain difference is easily worked out. Those numbers are already provided. Weird formations would be played if the highest possibly score was counted towards a figure each week. Those with weak benches would be affected the most.

Captain score is easy enough, not sure how easy it is to make the next step and work out what your rank would be based on that revised score.

You've got a point on the formation issue, but if that can be cracked, I would have thought those with weak benches would be affected the least - they are far more likely to get their benching decisions right, so their actual teams should closely resemble their optimum team based on correct benchings.

I meant that having 15 playing players isn't really important. Plenty have one playing keeper etc. The keeper part is easy for additional points. The only formation needed is 3 defenders. 4th & 5th defenders would need to beat the 6th-7th highest attacker to count. A Suarez fail of 1 point would be hidden if the 8th attacker did well but wouldn't be realistic.

As a Vert owner and after watching Spurs thrashing last weekend I am getting twitchy - while I had thought of him as a season keeper just a few short weeks ago. Is it time for him / Spurs D assets in general to go or hold fast? Or was last week a blip as City seem to be demolishing everyone at home this season? Any thoughts appreciated.

Last week's thrashing aside, Spurs have been very solid defensively, Vert's picked up boners in half the matches, and is still a good asset methinks.

    Team is:

    Migs
    Walker, Terry, Zabaleta
    Ramsey, Oscar, RavMo, Barkley
    Aguero, Suarez, Remy

    Subs: Lewis; Lallana, Clyne, Rosenior

    0 FT, 0.8 in bank

Do y'all think it's worth doing Rosenior-->Flannagan and playing him over Walker?

    Or should I just stick?

Ok so my main rival is 87 points ahead of me in our mini league and currently ranked in the top 3k overall.

This is the team he will be starting this week.

    Cech (McGregor)
    Baker Coleman GJohnson (Shaw, Shawcross)
    Ramsey Hazard Oscar Wilshere (Januzaj)
    Suarez(c) Giroud Sturridge.

The team I'll be starting is

    Migs (4.0)
    Vlaar, Coleman, Mert (Rangel, Chester)
    Ozil, Oscar, Cabaye, RMorrison (Januzaj)
    Suarez, Aguero(c), Rooney

Now he has Giroud and Sturridge since the start and plans to upgrade 1 or both of them over the coming weeks which will mean he loses at least 1m in TV.

    So a few questions.

    A) Who has the better team?
    B) Who will get the most points this week?
    C) Am I in a good position to start gaining on him?

Opinion pls. thx. WHY is GJ &/or Skrtl better opetion than Agger as Def pik-up?

--Agger came back from injury has played full 90 min matches.
--Risk of sako and tore i believe is more for Skrtl than Agger. Also Sako scored for france ag Ukraine good match and STIL was bench after.
--Bonus: Season GJ has 3b in 7 gw, Skrtl 2b in 10 gw, Agger 3bp in 6 gw.
    --last 5 gw where they e/ playued 90 min: Agger 31p 6.2p/gw 40 Bps; GJ 28p, avg 5.6 p/gw 36Bps; Skrtl 18p 3p/gw 35 Bps;

Agger best stats acros the board; am i missing something as to why GJ and skrtl are t be chosen ahead ogf Agger??

Sakho and Kolo give comp at CB slots while GJ has absolutely no one behind him to threaten his starts. Even though GJ has less likelihood of returning bonus points the security of start sways this argument in his favor to me.

As to Skrtl vs. Agger - I could not say..but it is telling that BR opted to bench agger earlier on in the season and leave martin in there for all those weeks. May indicate his preference between the two?

FROPM WHAT I RECALL, IT WAS NOT THAT aGGER WAS BENCHED. iT WAS THAT aGGER WAS INJURED. THATS WHY HE DID NOT PLAY FOR THOSE 5-6 GW.
        sorry the caps.
as to sako and Kolo, im thinking BOTH sako and kolo will NOT play together. thus, btn the 2 agger and skrtl tha one to dance out should be Skrtl if and when kolo or sako comes oin to joi agger.

also find it interesting that even w superb perf by sako w/ france he stil has not started bak since.

yes your pt of GJ beinfg sure start is good. but i think one can bet that agger is a sure start (unless injury) given skrtl would b the one to come out for sako or kolo.
Unless u or other think Skrtl is to stay and agger to come out for either??

yes. same argument has and willb emade for ex w/ Ivanovic and terry.
yes ivanovic like GJ gets forward, score threat yada yada yada. Terry HIUGE threat w david luis, cahil etc etc
but the REALITY is quite difft. Terry gts the bonus, the pts and ivanovic owners get the "potential" but no bonus nor pts. same exact ex.

Terry start threat from David Luiz & Cahill etc.
Agger start threat from Kolo and Sako.
Ivanovic & GJ score and asists threat + more forward

who brings in the Money?? TERRY w. Bps, bonus etc. agger couild follow.

It's true in the case of Ivan vs Terry where the bonus point difference is 8. However in this case none of the defender are bonus targets so I prefer the safer starter and player who seems more attacking. But I have both Terry and GJ so I'm quiet happy
