Having made a huge two-point dent in Granville’s mini-league lead, it’s time to change strategy. I’ve been complacent for too long, allowing my rival and co-host a weekly insight into my plans, welcoming his nagging little voice into my head to play havoc as I hover over the transfer button. As my phoenix-like ascent prepares for take-off, it’s time to play cagey.

With my transfer plans kept hushed, Granville does his best to use his Derren Brown like powers to have me reveal all. Along the way we assess the week’s transfer activity in “all aboard”, preview the weekend’s fixtures and decide whether any Fantasy manager can possibly do without the Aguero/Suarez captain combo.

Keep your cards close to your chest and listen in via this link or shroud yourself in mystery via the handy player below.

Mark Mark created the beast. He's now looking to tame it.

    I play with only one keeper.

    That keeper is Vorm, who is away to MCI this week.

    Do I just not play a keeper this week as a negative score is a definite possibility?

    Here's some food for thought...

    Far too much time is spent questioning which three heavy hitting forwards to go with.

    As we're all playing some combo of the same 5/6 players. So there's little to separate us...

    The real difference will be those who capitalize on their 4th & 5th midfielders & defenders during December.

      Well ya simply have to have 2 of them so there's only one spot to question. The cheapest players in the squad don't get enough points to be the difference through defenders. Getting the expensive mids and defenders right however seems tricky and has the potential to make a huge difference

      I don't agree. While it will be useful to have points coming off the bench with rotation upcoming I do not think it will have such a huge effect to our team's overall scoring output mate.

        Perhaps I should have said our 3rd & 4th midfielders & 2nd & 3rd defenders.

        Each of the Top 6 forwards are all owned in fairly equal amounts. 25-35%

        Now, if we look at the midfielders we see that Ramesy, Yaya & Ozil dominate the ownership numbers.

        Therefore, if we're able to carefully select lesser owned mids who preform well over the Xmas season then this will certainly mean green arrows in our future.

    Guys Heres my squad;

    Migs, Daniels

    Coleman, Terry, Collins, Walker, Burner

    Barkley, Cabaye, Hazard, Coutinho, Lallana

    Aguero, Suarez, Remy

    1 FT, 0.8 in the bank

    Is there any obvious transfer I need to make?? As of now thinking of holding.

    Also which one of the three should I start? Lallana (Chel A), Walker (Mun H) or Barkley (Stk H)

    At the moment I'm leaning towards Barkley.

              I like the prospect of CPL. Pulis will sure their backline up and they have the fixtures to win a few. It's their only real chance.

      If you still have Pablo, then perhaps keep for now. But don't like Swans fixtures or their injury problems right now. So selling wouldn't be a bad option either 🙂

    Good morning, really need some advice. Team - http://i.imgur.com/no49zvK.png

    I'll play Rat, but most probably he won't start and that's how my team will be looking for this GW. I've got 1 FT and .1 in the bank. I would've really liked to save this week, but do you think I should upgrade Rat instead? If yes, to who?

    Thanks.

      Rat to Olsson should sort you out for this gw. That said your def terrifies me. May want to shift Ozil out to free up funds to upgrade some Dmen. Good luck.

    have aguero suarez and rooney atm.. decided rooney to lukaku gw16... going to do rooney to negredo this week for (SWA, wba) then do negredo to lukaku. think im going to try this tactic out of just changing my 3rd forward to whoever has favourable fixtures. what do you think?

      Sell Roon for Negredo? No chance!!!

      You've got Kun, so not sure why you'd want Negredo at the expense of Rooney when Roon is in such great form & capable of scoring against anyone

    Hey guys. Hope everybody is well! I've just found a bit of time to come on here in the hope some of u FF sages can help me. My team is;

    Migs 4.0
    Terry Dawson Rio Shaw Chester
    Oscar Rambo Morrison Barkley Whitts
    Suaz Kun Rooney
    1FT 1.1M in the bank

    I know I need to sort my DF out & will use my next few trannies to do that. I also want to leave enough cash in the bank to do Whitts to Sess for the Norwich game.

    How does this sound:
    GW 13- Rio > Collins
    GW 14- Dawson > Mert
    GW 15- Whitts > Sess

    I'm sure someone can think of better ideas than these. They seem uninspiring and I'm not even sure Sess is that great a purchase

        Not a bad idea, but I'd be scared of another Wisdom fiasco Fri
        Flan. There is Siss, Sahko & even GJ who might fill in there. Flan seems in favour now, but a lot can change in one GW

            I might just get Mert this week & worry about which cheapie to buy next week.

            Just liked the look of Collins' price and fixture this week

      That is a very light midfield. It's worked so far I guess so fingers crossed until Jan.

      Isn't Shaw injured again?
      Dawson will have Ful (a) next GW so might be worth holding. Unless you think he will be dropped. Also Mert's fixtures are dire from GW15.
      Chester might be back any GW but his fixtures are pants... maybe a swap soon?

        Yeh it's not the best MF that's for sure, which is why I'm trying to stretch to Sess for GW15.

        You've pretty much summed up my feelings on my transfers too. Not much choice in DF right now.

        Removing Chester won't help my funds at all so I'll just keep him on my bench.

        Not sure on the extent of Shaws injury, but he's riding the bench anyway this week and hopefully back for next weeks tasty fixture

    Morning all,

    Best move here?

    A) Baines -> Olsson
    B) Baines & Snodgrass -> Olsson & Hazard [4 points]
    C) Baines & Snodgrass -> Olsson & Walcott [4 points]
    D) Save transfer

    A) is clearly the safe option as it means I can field a decent 11, however with Ward (nor) and Clyne (che) on my bench I wouldn't want to be relying on them if any of my 11 doesn't make it.

    B) would give some good CHE attacking cover, but would mean I couldn't afford Nasri -> Wally next week, so would either be keeping Nasri or getting Coutinho/Michu next week.

    C) is the most risky given Walcott's recent injury, but I actually fancy him to get a start this week.

    and D) certainly offers the most flexibility going forwards, but I'm not sure I have this luxury with 2 medium term injuries in my squad.

    Boruc
    Terry, Evra, Ward
    Mirallas, Nasri, Ramsey, Ravel
    Aguero, Suarez, Giroud

    Davis, Clyne, Baines*, Snodgrass*

        That was the original plan, but given these 2 options I think I prefer the 2nd - whatcha think?

        1)
        GW13: Baines -> Olsson
        GW14: Snoddy -> Wally
        GW15: Nasri & Giroud -> Sess & Rooney [4 points]

        2)
        GW13: Baines & Snodgrass -> Olsson & Walcott [4 points]

            Maybe, but Cardiff like to attack at home so I can see him having a lot of success on the counter.

            Of the 2 options, both incur one 4 point hit, and option 2 means I have a very explosive midfielder with 3 good fixtures and a better 1st bencher this week. 1 gives the flexibility though I guess. Hmmmm

          Would this work?

          GW13: Dawson -> M Olsson
          GW14: Nasty & Brady -> Ward & Wally

            0.4 short. And even if they worked, my defense would be so shit I'd cry.

            Imagine...

            Williams, Clyne, Olsson, Ward, Burner 😆

              Haha, the return of the ubers! I actually don't think it's that bad an idea. Most of those guys have good fixtures and if they rotate well could be gold.

              Not tempted with Dawson -> Olsson this week? Don't see much from Burner, Clyne, Williams or Dawson this week. Olsson left wing at home to CPL - that's armband territory.

                A step too far Jins 😉

                Nah I'm saving my transfer this week.

                Short term pain, long term gain (I hope)

        That's the problem with us Ozil owners. It's never a good idea to sell....

          If Walcott is fit and ready to play 70+, I'm willing to take the risk over Ozil.

          A lot more direct in his play and only has 1 direction - forward.

      Not bad at all mate. It's a punt on Theo and Michu performing but there's a good chance of it happening.

      If there ever was a week to own Mirallas it's this week.. on most set pieces since Baines is out and could get a small stint in the free role. I am getting rid of him next week however after 12 weeks of owning him(for wally) cause i dont see Everton scoring in their next two. Still if you dont mind a blank or two he's gold dust again for GW 16

        I have aguero and suarez.

        Just got Benteke vs Sunderland as Agy and Weiman are back. and Benteke scored a hatty last year against a better sunderland side.

          ah.. maybe you should have just gotten Rooney then and kept him through december.. or Lukaku and kept him long term. Not a bad punt though tbh.. it's just the getting RVP back bit i dont like
