Having made a huge two-point dent in Granville’s mini-league lead, it’s time to change strategy. I’ve been complacent for too long, allowing my rival and co-host a weekly insight into my plans, welcoming his nagging little voice into my head to play havoc as I hover over the transfer button. As my phoenix-like ascent prepares for take-off, it’s time to play cagey.

With my transfer plans kept hushed, Granville does his best to use his Derren Brown like powers to have me reveal all. Along the way we assess the week’s transfer activity in “all aboard”, preview the weekend’s fixtures and decide whether any Fantasy manager can possibly do without the Aguero/Suarez captain combo.

Keep your cards close to your chest and listen in via this link or shroud yourself in mystery via the handy player below.

Mark Mark created the beast. He's now looking to tame it.

Had the same decision and went with Ivan.
His goal threat is greater (the members area backed this hunch up) and he is well overdue a goal.

Right guys, I need to decide on whether to start Speroni or Boruc. I know I've asked this a lot, but I wanna stick to one instead of going back and forth.

So, Speroni or Boruc? Every answer helps. 🙂

    This week: Sessegnon -> RavMo
Next week: Walker & Remy -> Evans & Rooney, 4 point hit. It leaves me with this for the midweek games:

    Mignolet

    Coleman Evans Chico (Turner, Chester)

    Hazard Ozil Ramsey RavMo (Brady)

    Aguero Suarez Rooney

Obviously this week my team will contain Walker & Remy instead of the United lads.

    Look good?

Hard to judge Pele. Played in an era of loads of goals, with amazing players. His stats have been inflated from playing in friendlies, national service games etc. World cups with an amazing team, and one playing one group game in one. I think he would struggle in the modern era.

      against the grain, but henry.

hate this crap where someone tells you a player from the past is unbeatable as best player ever. from the footage i've seen there's quite a few players demonstrably better then pele (good as he was)

Agree with this and the second comment. Pele is like a modern day van nosterooy. Scored loads of goals but doesnt offer much more. I really do think he would be nowhere near as good in this era whereas maradona would probably be better.

like for like he'd be something like aguero as a player, style wise. right now aguero looks better, but clearly pele was best of his age. and i suppose it gets sort of pointless trying to compare what they would have been like in different ages.

Walcott prob on the bench no? Mirallas has manky fixtures after this week. Hazard is more than 9.2. Sess looked terrible against Villa - really, really bad. Lampard too much of a rotation risk for my liking. Can't see them playing 433 either which obviously lessens his appeal.

Coutinho or Gerrard perhaps. Flair or consistency. Hmmm..

Hopefully he might give an indication tomorrow. If he is starting I'll probably go for it him. He's just that bit more explosive than Gerrard/Coutinho

Is it a worthwhile pursuit altering my team and getting rid of Lukaku GW 15 for Rooney in your opinions?
I really want Rooney but they both have good fixtures from 16. What does your gut tell you?

That Rooney will out score Lukaku to Xmas.
It's also going to take an extra hit to get him in.
To afford.. Player (price) differences will be...
        Terry or Mert(5.7)
        Barks or Mutch
        Williams or 4.5(rat)

        Ozil will shift regardless.

Best front line by miles is Rooney/Suarez/Aguero..but can you squeeze more points out of playing the fixtures with a third transferable striker..maybe/maybe not..but it's a lot more fun than sitting on your hands.

Very true Wakey. Lukaku can easily become Benteke or Remy or whomever hits form any given GW. Not that you want to keep chasing after a striker if Rooney is doing it week in week out.

I find that as nice as it is to plan ahead a few GWs like that, it always happens that someone suddenly gets an injury or a red card or whatever and your plan goes out the chuffing window, but you can easily be blinded by the PLAN and so not see that you need to change it due to events and you blindly carry on with what you had decided on, even though it is no longer the best way forward, if that makes sense.

It sure does and I concur. Jinswick is a case in point. 😉
Problem with this kind of price difference is that you need to make multiple transfers along the way to afford it. So a plan is needed. It's risky as you say because it could go tits up any GW.

Manchester City paid 17.5 million for Roque Santa Cruz and 19 million for striker Jô.

Santa Cruz made 20 first team appearances for City, scoring 3 times.
Jô made 21 first team appearances, scoring once.

City paid 5.8 million per goal for Santa Cruz and 19 million for the solitary goal from the Brazilian striker Jô.

Both left the club on free transfers. Man City are financial geniuses.

        he's just a dick.

he was a dick at chelsea and he continues to be one at spurs.

its not that they arent scoring, its just stuff he says and does.

        ie:

at chelsea asking the players to run and celebrate goals with him because he was feeling left out

        http://www.theguardian.com/football/2011/dec/10/andre-villas-boas-chelsea-celebrations

trying to deflect criticism about his very poor decision to let lloris play on by trying to switch conversation onto blaming Lukaku for it (when he was quite clearly trying to swerve out of the way, but even if he hadn;t...)

        http://www.express.co.uk/sport/football/441454/VIDEO-Tottenham-boss-Villas-Boas-criticises-Everton-s-Lukaku-over-Lloris-collision

Just generally being an overrated c***.

reason... 1. dont think rooney will score this w/e
    2. Negredo is a great option until then.. especially this gameweek
    3. was going to transfer in Lukaku gw16 anyway
