Having made a huge two-point dent in Granville’s mini-league lead, it’s time to change strategy. I’ve been complacent for too long, allowing my rival and co-host a weekly insight into my plans, welcoming his nagging little voice into my head to play havoc as I hover over the transfer button. As my phoenix-like ascent prepares for take-off, it’s time to play cagey.

With my transfer plans kept hushed, Granville does his best to use his Derren Brown like powers to have me reveal all. Along the way we assess the week’s transfer activity in “all aboard”, preview the weekend’s fixtures and decide whether any Fantasy manager can possibly do without the Aguero/Suarez captain combo.

Keep your cards close to your chest and listen in via this link or shroud yourself in mystery via the handy player below.

Mark Mark created the beast. He's now looking to tame it.

Any correct score doubles or trebles tips for the weekend?

    Currently have a double on:
    Chelsea 2-0 Saints
    Hull 0-3 Liverpool

that seems a sound bet. I usually just go win accumulators and a cheeky quid on 4 draws, I think I might take that one up. Might go with Newcastle 2-1 West Brom and Cardiff 1-2 Arsenal as a separate double up now you've drawn my attention to such a bet 😉

I've seen utd beat spurs 4-1 at WHU one too many times to have any confidence in betting on that game. Spurs have done well against UTD recently so it's anyone's game I feel.

Just listened to Scoutcast, that was fun.

My guess at Mark's transfers: Arnie, Townsend, Sturridge for Morrison, Redmond, Suarez

    Has anyone been guessing?

as a pool fan me too. but sometimes you got to cash in before they leave anyway? i think all these strikers they have identified as targets are them preparing for suarez to go. dont think it will be this january tho.. i think it will be the transfer window after that!

Agree - they would be giving up on a top 4 to me if they get rid of Suarez in January. At least ride him until the end of the season to a top finish!

Its not "get rid" its more when Real Madrid come knocking. There is zero chance of Benzema leaving of Madrid dont get a world class striker to replace him. I think Suarez, and Agureo would be high on that shortlist

The only thing is that Brenden Rogers is stubborn. He will not be bullied into anything... it would have to be a big sum especially in January. Enough to guarantee him a quality striker replacement and then some

I don't like doubling on defense in general so I would be content with just GJ and leave Migs. De Gea a better shout than Pants but there is that difference in price...if you bring in Pants you should have enough to do Cabaye to Michu if my in the head calculations are correct that could be fitting until the January WC.

Going through my team for the next few weeks trying to plan transfers.

I have Suarez, Aguero and Remy up top and was considering getting back in Lukaku and/or Rooney for gw 16. Problem is Remy and Aguero have Palace and Fulham the following week and fixtures are still nice for a few games after...? So basically what I'm asking is which two strikers will score more from gw16-20 considering if no injuries occur:

Aguero - ARS, ful, LIV, CPL, swa
Remy - SOU, cpl, STK, ARS, wba
Rooney - avl, WHM, hul, nor, TOT
Lukaku - FUL, swa, SUN, SOU, stk

Given these four maintain current form I would bet Kun and Roo. But, difference between Roo and Lukaku in those four weeks may not be significant enough that you could consider using those potential funds saved if you go with Lukaku elsewhere to more impact.

I'll just see what happens at the weekend. Narch have been absolutely hammered by all of the better teams they've played this year and it could well be another 7-0 at Anfield.

Let's not go crazy here. Ozil would be reasonably priced at 9.0 but it seems tougher and tougher to justify having him slotted in at 10+ given the lack of goals in him.

yeah that was OTT but his price is redic when u look at other mids in the game. He's only really produced in 2 home games and went missing in so many lately. Think he'll need time to adjust to the lack of space he gets in the prem?

    A question to UK residents,

Will it be possible to know the lineup of the West Brom game before the deadlines for this gameweek, which played on 30 Nov 17:30.

The reason I'm asking is I need Ridgewell playing to field 3 defenders 🙁

Carried away here - do not think Mou would sit Ivan for Azpili at RB. Except for maybe the game Ivan sits when he gets his 5th yellow. David Luiz bit of an x-factor here. Azpili certainly not nailed on but tentatively staving off Cole for the LB spot. Only sub-6.0 option into Chelsea D could be worth a punt.

Good point on Mou, he looks more interested in making sure everyone knows he's one and only true lord at Chelsea rather playing our best 11 for each game: that means not playing 35 year old Lampard twice in 3 days, or making Mata rot on the bench. Still for all Mou's negatives, am happy that hes back dont get me wrong

Could use some advice on my squad mates. Have been rolling 5-2-3 for a while but am now beginning to shift some funds into the mid. Did Baines to Gabbidon this week to free up funds to upgrade Brady to Wally next week - that is my plan right now anyway. Am then thinking of maybe downgrading Vert to upgrade even more in mid in the next couple weeks. Any thoughts much appreciated!

    Boruc
    Evra / JT / GJ / Gabbidon / Vert
    Cout / Ravel
    Aguero / Rooney / Suarez

    Brady / JWP / Cabral

Yes after last weekend I am concerned at my lack of Chelsea attack. It will be easy for me to get into it if Cout sputters and can shift him out for one of them but if not it gets more complicated. Would be looking at a three week job of downgrading Vert and another defender to be able to free up funds which would take 3 weeks and nearly bring me to January WC. If Cout continues to fire I will keep until January. If not - do you think it worthwhile to spend my next several weeks worth of moves to free up funds to do Ravel to Chelsea mid?

With the WC looming, it seems prudent to be looking around 3 games ahead, I would advise to get a Chelsea attacker for Brady if you can and weigh up defensive options afterwards. Flannel at Liverpool, could he be worth a risk? might be clearer in a game or two.

This week, yes. I brought Wally in Saturday night with Aguero, starting to regret that move. I have Hazard, so I probably would've gone Gerrard with a little more thought. With you not having attacking cover of either, it does make it a little tricky. I personally would be doing the Vert to cheapie move as well soon to be getting Hazard first, then Walcott. I don't think he will start this week, but probably will week after. I have Wally/Hazard and SAR, very happy with it, hoping Wally gets a goal next week somehow

        2. I think Hazard is the man to have at CHE tbh

Also, i do not feel his is nailed on in the short term.

Just think back to a week ago, everyone was selling. I think he has been over rated this season. i wish Mourinho would wake up and realize that Mata is far superior!

Curious thing here is that I agree Mata is a better player than Oscar however I think Oscar works better on the pitch with Haz than Mata does with Haz.

Either way, it doesn't really matter as bringing in Kun is more important than any of these things.

In Mou's eyes, that's resting Oscar for another 2 games in 3 days. Oscar has to play, Mata has to rot on the bench, Iva has to cross out of play then be praised all post game interviews and all have to hail Mou, that is the name of the game at stamford bridge at the moment

I may have been rash myself, did remy to benteke(remy scores last 3), lukaku to rooney last week and done benteke to aguero this week. it hasn't been fun!

Good to go. Not sure if you need Gerrard when you already got Suarez. But if you're satisfied with his production then maybe it's worth staying put. Consider downgrading him to upgrade Lukaku > Rooney some time later.

Captain Kun will earn back that hit for sure, but with two aways following you may be better off not taking a hit, going with Suarez (C) this weekend, and reassessing with two frees next week.

To me it depends on your view on whether or not City will continue their dismal away form or rebound to being at least decent. If you have faith that they regain some form in away games then the hit makes more sense. I do not have such faith given their play this year and would be remiss to advise you to take the hit as such.
