With an explosive Gameweek 15 behind us it’s time to delve into the Sky game’s inner workings. We assess the recent run of Man of Match (MoTM) awards, the bonus point beneficiaries and the current market trades and, as always, also look ahead to the forthcoming fixtures, offering our preferred captain setup with one eye on Gameweek 17.
Gameweek 15 Man of the Match Awards
Listed below is a match-by-match breakdown of the players who won the plaudits from the Sky Sports reporters last time out, earning five additional points for the Man of the Match award.
| Fixture | MoTM |
| Everton vs Liverpool | Romelu Lukaku |
| Arsenal vs Southampton | Olivier Giroud |
| Fulham vs Swansea | Scott Parker |
| Hull vs Crystal Palace | Barry Bannan |
| Newcastle vs Norwich | Shola Ameobi |
| Stoke vs Sunderland | Steven N’Zonzi |
| West Ham vs Chelsea | Frank Lampard |
| Man City vs Tottenham | Sergio Aguero |
| Cardiff vs Man United | Fraizer Campbell |
| West Brom vs Aston Villa | Shane Long |
In a weekend dominated by attacking players, it’s hardly surprising forwards claimed six MoTM and midfielders earned four. Of those forwards, only Sergio Aguero and Olivier Giroud have over 10% ownership, however, suggesting that the additional five points gained by the others is unlikely to have too much effect on the overall standings.
Gameweek 15 Bonus Points
Three goalkeepers managed five saves or more – Boaz Myhill, Simon Mignolet and Costel Pantilimon were the top shot stoppers. Mignolet made a total of nine saves, which was the highest of the Gameweek – he is also top of the bonus points stats as well with an extra 10 points to his name.
In defence, a total of nine players gathered bonus, seven for tackles and two for passes completed – centre-back Jose Fonte was the closest to achieving both, only just missing out by three completed passes. John Terry and Joel Ward are joined by Pablo Zabaleta as the top bonus-magnets in defence, with an additional 12 points each.
In midfield, 14 players earned bonus points – eight for tackling and six for passes. No midfielder managed to gain both, but Morgan Schneiderlin was closest, missing out by just 12 passes. Aaron Ramsey continues to be the number one player in regards to bonus with 24 additional points earned.

The Transfer Trends
Top Transfers Out
| Name | Team | Value | % of Managers |
| Baines | Everton | 7.7 | 10.55% |
| Lovren | Southampton | 5.2 | 6.53% |
| Van Persie | Man United | 10 | 5.40% |
| Shaw | Southampton | 5.3 | 3.64% |
| Paulinho | Tottenham | 6.6 | 3.36% |
Everton’s full-back Leighton Baines is the top transfer out this week after reports indicate he could miss up to six weeks with a toe injury – just over 10% have shipped him out. Southampton’s defensive assets have taken a knock this week as well, with Dejan Lovren and Luke Shaw being drafted out by a combined 10.17% of Fantasy managers. Lovren missed out last week through illness, whilst Shaw was subbed off midway through the Arsenal defeat with a knock. Tottenham’s faltering form sees 3.36% of Fantasy managers part company with Paulinho and look for inspiration elsewhere. Robin Van Persie again features after another ‘no show’ due to an ongoing groin problem.
Top Transfers In
| Name | Team | Value | % of Managers |
| Aguero | Man City | 9.8 | 7.12% |
| Lallana | Southampton | 5.9 | 3.77% |
| Fonte | Southampton | 5.1 | 3.67% |
| Rooney | Man United | 9.6 | 3.20% |
| Suarez | Liverpool | 9.9 | 3.20% |
Unsurprisingly, Sergio Aguero (7.12%) is the most drafted in player this week off the back of his two goals, assist and MoTM display against Spurs, which netted him 20 points. Joining him are in-form forwards Luis Suarez (3.20%) and Wayne Rooney (3.20%) to make up one of the most popular three-man attacks across the Fantasy games. Strangely, Southampton’s Adam Lallana (3.77%) and Jose Fonte (3.67%) find themselves in our top five most popular players this week, despite some tough fixtures ahead.
Gameweek 16 Proposed Captain Strategy
Looking ahead to the captaincy choices for Gameweek 16, there is a multitude of options due to the double fixture Gameweek as the festive schedule start to heat up. You could even have four captains if you choose to use a couple of transfers.
Our Strategy:
Loic Remy (West Brom Home) → Luis Suarez (Hull Away) → Luis Suarez (Norwich at Home)
For Saturday November 30, there are a few options in decent form. If you don’t currently have Loic Remy as your skipper, you could consider Romelu Lukaku or Olivier Giroud, who both bagged a brace last week and have reasonable fixtures. Christian Benteke is also an option at home to Sunderland, but is yet to find his feet since returning from injury.
For Sunday December 1, you could either transfer in or use a captain change to give the armband to one of Luis Suarez or Sergio Aguero. Suarez squares up to Hull away followed by Norwich at home – both seem a good opportunity for Suarez to produce. Additionally, this would set you up perfectly for Gameweek 17 as Liverpool play West Ham at home on Saturday December 7. If you prefer to hand the armband to Aguero, he plays at home to Swansea followed by West Brom away – again setting you up for Gameweek 17 as he then faces Southampton away the following Saturday.
Finally it’s worth noting you could opt to have four captains this week if you wanted to use two transfers and take advantage of the only fixture on Tuesday December 3, which see Crystal Palace host West Ham. Whilst this sounds good in principle, the extra use of transfers seems a little rich for our taste when you consider the lack of Fantasy assets involved.
