With little time for turnaround between Gameweeks, we roll out the Round 2 results and Round 3 Draw of the Fantasy Football Scout Cup VII, sponsored by Paddy Power, this evening. Before we look at the remaining contenders for the crown, those taking part should note that these ties take place over Gameweek 15 – the Gameweek 14 midweek matches do not count towards your tally:

Our defending champion Wild Rover seems to have risen to the occasion and, having climbed the rankings in the last couple of weeks, now faces Hillbillypete for a place in the Fourth Round. Wild Rover is one of only three previous Scout Cup winners still remaining; GoonerDave goes up against Mufcste55 – the latter is the favourite here, sitting just outside the top 10,000 – whilst sleepingmaster pits his wits against bigfourleggedbeast.

Mark’s podcast co-host and Champions League tipster Granville swept aside Dullardinho last weekend and now faces The Upper Deckers, who sits just inside the top 1 million. Gaz Downright – who tops the Contributors and Moderators league – is up against 2ndMan, whilst fellow moderators applebonkers and Ryan have been drawn against ste2510 and Bedknobs and Boomsticks respectively.

Amongst the community members still in with a shout, Tommy Tynan’s Left Shin Pad takes on Jafooli, The Sarjeant faces Isacki, EpicFAIL has been drawn against The Shadow and Daniel plays host to The Flying Nugget.

Giuliop11 may well be considered the favourite for the title. Sitting in 164th spot overall, he’s the man to avoid – Ferenc55 stands in his way of a Fourth Round spot.

As usual, we name-check the highest scoring winner from the previous round. Realunitedfc takes the honour, after racking up 90 points in Gameweek 13 – now up to around the 17,000-mark, he swaggers into the next fixture against bcdahm.

If you fancy a glance back at the Round 2 results, click here or if you are awaiting the fixture list for the next batch of head-to-head, the draw for the Third Round is available here.

As always, good luck to those still in with a shout of the silverware.

hmmm 10.5 that is inconsistent and gets the occasional assists... or 7.4 or whatever he is now.. that scores nearly every game and has scored probably more than the whole tottenham team has all season... hmmmmm tough one.

Got lost on the last page, quick repost.

I have two main rivals, one has Aguero, Suarez and Giroud, while the other has Aguero, Rooney and Lukaku. I have Aguero, Suarez and Remy. How (un)wise would it be to take a 4 point hit and get Rooney in before his price rise/Man Utd's great fixture run?

Yeah, was leaning towards doing it. Your squad looks solid, maybe take out one of Flanagan/Skrtel, Liverpool aren't looking too solid at the back. Or take out Januzaj and get in someone likely to play throughout the Christmas period. Nothing major though tbh.

    Aguero->Suarez(-4), Rooney->Suarez(-4) or neither?

Rooney is tempting because, despite the form, he's a booking from a ban which would cost me another 4 to presumably get Aguero back in.

ha I did Rooney -> Lukaku to be able to do Rosenior -> Terry for GW13 😉

ended up being identical points, 17 from the pair vs 13 for Rooney, then factor in -4 for the hit..

have actually been considering Kun -> Rooney to do the fixture split, but Rooney is on the cusp of suspension. think I'll likely stick this round, been a while since I haven't taken a hit

This time last year I was ranked 79k and climbing my way to top 5k (by GW21). Riding the RVP wave from very early on helped with this but my team was full of quality differentials.

This year I'm floating around 300k and don't feel like any of my top players are differentials:

Ramsey, Aguero, Giroud, Suarez, Zaba, Kosc, Migs, Walker

Maybe Wally will be once I bring him in, but this year I am not sure how I am going to make up that ground.

I know that is the case, but for example, this week we all thought Aguero/Suarez would have done best, a ballsy, differential guy (as I found out in my ML) may of said:

Ozil/Ramsey have weak opponents, maybe (c) those, see how it goes...

Needless to say (5 in my ML of 36 did that), I got smashed.

Owning Aguero and captaining anyone else last week would have been foolish.

Obviously it turned out he was a bad captaincy pick, but everything was pointing towards strong returns for him.

Individually they are not huge differentials, but collectively they are. Like only a few % will have Giroud, Suarez and Aguero. Keep going getting as many points as you can

Yeah, I'm taking it less seriously for sure, and not too bothered about my overall rank, but it pains me to see my ML casuals chirping up after not saying a word all last year after I dominated my mini-league.

At least I'm not spending anywhere near as much time this year playing FPL

Probably not, RVP at stages last year was making the game boring.

For the first time this season, I have a strong gut going against the statistically best (C). Thinking Ozil or Ramsey over Suarez, but won't do it because of the slight rotation risk of the Arsenal mids

Could do Remy to Rooney or use the 3.4 to beef up midfield or defence?
