With little time for turnaround between Gameweeks, we roll out the Round 2 results and Round 3 Draw of the Fantasy Football Scout Cup VII, sponsored by Paddy Power, this evening. Before we look at the remaining contenders for the crown, those taking part should note that these ties take place over Gameweek 15 – the Gameweek 14 midweek matches do not count towards your tally:

Our defending champion Wild Rover seems to have risen to the occasion and, having climbed the rankings in the last couple of weeks, now faces Hillbillypete for a place in the Fourth Round. Wild Rover is one of only three previous Scout Cup winners still remaining; GoonerDave goes up against Mufcste55 – the latter is the favourite here, sitting just outside the top 10,000 – whilst sleepingmaster pits his wits against bigfourleggedbeast.

Mark’s podcast co-host and Champions League tipster Granville swept aside Dullardinho last weekend and now faces The Upper Deckers, who sits just inside the top 1 million. Gaz Downright – who tops the Contributors and Moderators league – is up against 2ndMan, whilst fellow moderators applebonkers and Ryan have been drawn against ste2510 and Bedknobs and Boomsticks respectively.

Amongst the community members still in with a shout, Tommy Tynan’s Left Shin Pad takes on Jafooli, The Sarjeant faces Isacki, EpicFAIL has been drawn against The Shadow and Daniel plays host to The Flying Nugget.

Giuliop11 may well be considered the favourite for the title. Sitting in 164th spot overall, he’s the man to avoid – Ferenc55 stands in his way of a Fourth Round spot.

As usual, we name-check the highest scoring winner from the previous round. Realunitedfc takes the honour, after racking up 90 points in Gameweek 13 – now up to around the 17,000-mark, he swaggers into the next fixture against bcdahm.

If you fancy a glance back at the Round 2 results, click here or if you are awaiting the fixture list for the next batch of head-to-head, the draw for the Third Round is available here.

As always, good luck to those still in with a shout of the silverware.

Following on from my big front 7 question would this backline jus about make up for it

    Pantillimon/Davis
Evans Gabbidon Flanagan Chester R.Bennett (started 3 in a row for Norwich with everyone fit.)

When Flanagan gets the hook can do him out for Wes brown.

Not worth the big 7 that GK rotation and Defence is awful Evans Flanagan not nailed on other 3 awful teams. Don't do it.

Honestly not worth downgrade Nasri at least and have a starting keeper and decent Defender. TBH Nasri's place is under threat when Silva returns anyway

That's a big 3, pretty good 2 (Oscar, Ramsey) and 2 hopefuls (Nasri, Walcott). Your back line is s*** - not a single nailed on GK/Def. Sorry to be blunt.

If u wan to play in this manner u shld get a nailed keeper and defenders. i osi playing in a similar approach but my def is nailed except baker which i will trade for chester.u can try play w the fixture n villa palace vardiff all fits the bill. prem def are nt really keeping cs oso so playing more in attack is nt yt bad. my team is below.

      speroni 4m

      ward turner baker chico vlaar

      ozil gerrard ramsey hazard morrison

McGregor + Harper, same price as your GKs (actually 8.4 right now), and you always have a GK even if the main guy is injured, and you don't have to double down on the crappiest defense in the league - CP. Just a thought.

I got Evans for Rangel. Utd have good fixtures, but not great at keeping CS lately. 5.0 was a decent punt though, hopefully some returns.

If you dont already have Arsenal defensive cover, then Kosc is the way to go. Be mindful of maxxing out on Arsenal players with Walcott due to return.

Considering Rooney, Gerrard, Hazard & Walcott.

I know, we all are. Too many options and two many transfers!

I'm really thinking if there is a time Walcott will start, it is now. Home fixture against a small (though stubborn) team sandwiched between two tricky games with Ramsey, Wilshere, Ozil having been played a lot, in that order of appearances.

If someone were to be rested I think it might be Wilshere as he has been playing RW and is made of glass, though no one is safe.

This is one of those theories that makes sense but depends on what the manager's actually thinking. Wenger has tried both Walcott and Pod at CF but it was a while ago. Pod has been used there in preseason; I don't think he impressed, can't remember if he was used there in competitive games. Walcott was used when he was stalling on a new contract and wanted to play in the center. He was hit and miss. I wonder if now he has signed the contract, he won't get that chance again.

Yeah, just not sure Everton is the ideal fixture. Guess he has done it against some very good teams. Not sure whether to pay any attention to his apparently bad record against his old club.

Actually thinking Ozil & Barkley to Gerrard & Walcott/Hazard.

But agree I think It's time for Zabs to move on, even with Kompany due back very soon.

Seriously though when I got Migs & 4m in my WC, I factored in the possible -4 of selling Migs if he got injured and reckoned it was still worth it.

Looking at the fixtures over the next few weeks and want to do a triple transfer on the 14th to free up funds and have a squad for rotation. so im thinking of getting rid of Davies(4.0) Lovren(5.4) and Hernandez(5.7) and bringing in Marshall,Chester and Cabaye.

which would leave me looking like this

    Krul, Marshall

    Zabaleta,Johnson,Coleman,Gabbidon,Chester

    Mirallas,Cabaye,Ravel,Oscar,Ramsey

    Aguero,Suarez,Rooney

Depends on the shape of the team I believe. When Lambert Rodriguez and Osvaldo played, JWP made way. But MP has gone with one of Lambert/Osvaldo in recent games (partly cos Osvaldo has been injured).

Have JWP and Sess and worried about JWP's starting role. Would you start JWP or Sess this GW Isacki?
