With little time for turnaround between Gameweeks, we roll out the Round 2 results and Round 3 Draw of the Fantasy Football Scout Cup VII, sponsored by Paddy Power, this evening. Before we look at the remaining contenders for the crown, those taking part should note that these ties take place over Gameweek 15 – the Gameweek 14 midweek matches do not count towards your tally:

Our defending champion Wild Rover seems to have risen to the occasion and, having climbed the rankings in the last couple of weeks, now faces Hillbillypete for a place in the Fourth Round. Wild Rover is one of only three previous Scout Cup winners still remaining; GoonerDave goes up against Mufcste55 – the latter is the favourite here, sitting just outside the top 10,000 – whilst sleepingmaster pits his wits against bigfourleggedbeast.

Mark’s podcast co-host and Champions League tipster Granville swept aside Dullardinho last weekend and now faces The Upper Deckers, who sits just inside the top 1 million. Gaz Downright – who tops the Contributors and Moderators league – is up against 2ndMan, whilst fellow moderators applebonkers and Ryan have been drawn against ste2510 and Bedknobs and Boomsticks respectively.

Amongst the community members still in with a shout, Tommy Tynan’s Left Shin Pad takes on Jafooli, The Sarjeant faces Isacki, EpicFAIL has been drawn against The Shadow and Daniel plays host to The Flying Nugget.

Giuliop11 may well be considered the favourite for the title. Sitting in 164th spot overall, he’s the man to avoid – Ferenc55 stands in his way of a Fourth Round spot.

As usual, we name-check the highest scoring winner from the previous round. Realunitedfc takes the honour, after racking up 90 points in Gameweek 13 – now up to around the 17,000-mark, he swaggers into the next fixture against bcdahm.

If you fancy a glance back at the Round 2 results, click here or if you are awaiting the fixture list for the next batch of head-to-head, the draw for the Third Round is available here.

As always, good luck to those still in with a shout of the silverware.

Any thoughts on the chances of Panti being rested this GW? I'm trying to get into Pellegrini's head here. With three games in a week it seems like the ideal excuse to show Hart he's not a gonner.

Would like Panti as a stop-gap for a few weeks, but he'd be my only keeper and I'd be gutted if he was rotated first week!

Haha thanks...i had to do it last night or would miss out. Gerrard going up, kolo and barkley going down (neither playing) and boruc about to face an exodus with chester still in limbo.

Thought long and hard and felt it necessary for decisive action. Not that i will see any green arrows now.

If davies comes back, that is my free transfer this week. If chester plays it shall be the first time this year I've had a ful squad. Barkley, Ward Prowse, Chester and kolo have all let me down at one point or another

I weighed this up last night.

Walcott will be explosive but is a far greater rotation risk and Liverpool have better fixtures. Stevie is on set pieces and pens. You can guess which way i went...or just read the post above yours 🙂

Bad fixtures + Lots of competition + Unknown how he'll figure with new look ozil and ramsey + Awesome last year

          Vs

Better fixtures + Set pieces + Penalties + Guaranteed start + Crap position on pitch

they only affect total points, average GW points are unaffected
Just noticed that Nolan and Gabiddon have relatively high ownership too, so own goals and red cards for them would be welcome as well

I don't do this often but I literally have no idea what to do. I have 2FT (happy to save one for next week) and 0.5m in the bank. Any ideas? Thinking a cheapie>cheapie defender move but nothing is really standing out:

    Boruc/Speroni
    Collins-Terry-Zab (Murner-Chester)
    Oscar-Ramsey-Morrison-Cabaye (Brady)

I've had Boruc and Fonte most all yr. Never subscribed to the non-double up theory (GK and D on same team, just make sure it's an EXCELLENT defensive pairing) Hasn't hurt me this season - and when their fixtures went, ahem, south, they both went to the bench.

Depth is more important than ever this season...Remember when in the past we all had non-playing super cheap "last men" (sometimes 2!) on the bench and cruddy backup GKs under 4.0? That style of team template economics seems to be ending.

I think rest and rotations will start when Podolski is back and Walcott up to speed, even Miyaichi is due back soon to help out.
Wenger can't afford to risk a bad result by giving rest to players unless they really need it. Winning games gives players the energy to carry on much longer.

I dunno, I think Wenger has to rotate a bit coming into this run of games and Hull seems to me the best option where he can really afford to do it in of the next four.
