We roll out another instalment of our new weekly article for Members this evening, offering an in-depth statistical analysis of the main captaincy contenders for the Gameweek ahead. Each of the top four supply us with a player apiece this time out as we crunch the numbers to determine whether there really is an alternative to a certain Uruguayan for the armband:

Anyone looking at Haz for captain for GW after this one? Lukaku looks the good option as less chance of being rested than Haz. Hazard *should* play, shouldn't he?! Hmmmm....
Open Controls -
Need a cheap midfield option or two chaps, suggestions?

This season I have to adjust to new strategy. Whenever I push the hit button, it will turn to a green arrow. If no hit button for that week, I will get red arrow. 😉Open Controls-

Yup. Will keep doing that till next WC.

Still debating this one...Barkley to Shelvey, Redmond or Brunt?
Open Controls-
-
Brunt got one lucky goal, think he might be good for an assist over the next few games but nothing more than that.
Open Controls
-
-
I have just done Barkley -> Shelvey, looks best option to me after reviewing stats and listening to my gut. Might only stay in the team for a few weeks but worth a punt especially with HUL and going up in value. Casuals will keep transferring in due to highest points this season for mids his price.
Open Controls-
But thanks for the reply mate, I'm thinking maybe I'll do Shelvey now and get Redmond for Januzaj later. Have to say I do think Redmond looks pretty tasty from what I've seen of him this season. The only worry with him is whether Norwich score enough to get many assists, but he looks the most likely of anyone in the side.

Aahh can't decide, keep Ozil or ditch for Haz!?
Open Controls-
get Haz
Open Controls -
Would certainly keep for this week, have you got no more pressing transfers? If I had no other transfers in mind I *might* consider it given Ozil's fixtures, but I've got way too many problems elsewhere to even think about it. 🙂
Open Controls -
Haz: 8, 18, 2, 2, 13, 10, 2, 17
Ozil: 2, 15, 3, 6, 2, 3, 11, 11Open Controls

Arrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrgh!!!!!!!!!
A) Gerrard ---> Hazard
B) Barkley ---> Shelvey
Please help me, I'm going crazy over thisOpen Controls -
Here's my wildcard team so far.
Howard, Gazzaniga
Zaba, Coleman, Gabbidon, Chester, Moxey
Gerrard, YaYa, Hazard, Ramsey, Shelvey
Suarez, Aguero, Lukaku
Thoughts please? Am I missing anyone? Need to do the swaps tonight before the price increases.Open Controls-
Solid! Perhaps change one of your Palace DEFs? Maybe a Cardiff option instead?
Open Controls -
why wildcard now just weeks from the Jan WC?
Open Controls-
this
Open Controls -
@Mike - excuse me for this question but I have not played my wildcard all season? How many do I have and when? I have to ship out the following
Rooney
Ravel
Barkley
Mignolet
Flanagan
ShawOpen Controls-
You can use one anytime through the season and the other only in January. You only "need" to get rid of a couple of them. Use your free transfers, maybe a -4 or -8 then WC in January. The second wild card will be useful much later in the season around double gameweeks.

Hi All
2FTs - Ozil, Oscar, Januzaj > Hazard, Gerard, Shelvey - worth a -4pt hit for this week?
Vorm Ruddy
Mertesacker G.Johnson A.Williams Clyne M.Wilson
Ramsey Ozil Oscar Sessegnon Januzaj
Lukaku Suarez RooneyOpen Controls -
Not sure why everyone is dropping Ozil, he is amazing and his stats back it up!
Open Controls-
because you can get that production fantasy-wise elsewhere at a more reasonable price
Open Controls-
fair argument. I have Hazard and Rambo therefore Yaya and Gerrard would be the only real "like to gets" for me and I can't take out Ozil for either of them.
Open Controls-
I have Gerrard in that category..took a punt on him weeks back and has paid off every single week 🙂
good luck, I did Ozil -> Ramsey and it took a lot of nerve to hit Confirm but Ramsey has been just about on par with Ozil's production at a fraction of the cost..could have easily igone poorly!Open Controls

Is Suarez up there with Ronaldo and Messi?
Open Controls-
I think so
Open Controls -
But Messi is unproven in the Prem. ;-p
Open Controls -
no, he's a fox in the box. Ronaldo and Messi have FAR more in their locker than Suarez does.
Open Controls -
Maybe even Shelvey as well 🙂
Open Controls -
It does beggar the question of how many goals would Suarez score in a team like Real or Barca.
Open Controls-
less, all the responsibility and expectation wouldn't be on his shoulders. rather than the big fish in a small pond, he'd be another big fish sharing limited water.
Open Controls-
I don't think so tbh. He scores goals from nothing, Imagine if he was getting really good service, It's all conjecture but I think he would score loads and loads
Open Controls-
Ronaldo was doing it at United while surrounded by quality then amped it up even more at Real surrounded by an even greater degree of quality.I think Suarez is QUITE a player, I just think he's benefitting from being at Pool (albeit a Pool slowly on the rise) much like Bale enjoyed Spurs his last 2 seasons.
Open Controls-
Ronaldo took a few seasons to bed in at United and had one of the best managers around to help shape him into a much better player. He arguably also had better players around him. They are completely different, It would depend what you wanted them to do for the team you had. Is one better than the other is not really a sensible question. The three of them are truly great footballers.
Open Controls-
Ronaldo was only 21 during the start of those 'few seasons'. He's only 2 years older than Suarez.
but I think comparing footballers who don't play exactly the same position is stupid anyways. all great footballers, though on an all-around quality basis (touch, technique, intelligence, physical capability) Messi and Ronaldo are a whole tier above Suarez easy, for me.Open Controls

C) RavMo & Brady ➡ Shelvey & Sterling

Looking for a defender to replace Ferdinand - cant decide which Club has better fixture over next 4-5 GWs?

Five televised games, only Wally and Ramsey 😐
And I ain't captaining them 🙂Open Controls -
How does Remy and Ozil > Lukaku and Hazard sound? No hits
Open Controls-
Im keeping the faith with Remy just now. Lukaku cant wait
Open Controls -
sounds lovely demi
Open Controls -
Just Remy to lukaku I reckon, but obviously next week.
Open Controls-
You think Ozil is worth keeping for the next two games against Everton and Man City then, whilst Hazard faces Stoke and Palance? I have Ramsey if it affects anything.
Open Controls-
I will be doing the Ozil-->Hazard switch next GW for Palace game I think, can easily get Ozil back as I have already lost 0.1M on my PP for Ozil

Arsenal have 3 clean sheet at home. One of them is Liverpool!!
Open Controls-
True. More long term i guess, and to catch the rise. Everton are in excellent form themselves
Open Controls
-
-
-
Not sure about doing it this week. I think Remy has a better chance of scoring.
Open Controls -
Nice moves.
For free is even better.Open Controls -
Sorry to be late to the party.
Good transfers IMO.Open Controls -
Arsenal's fixtures are better through January wildcard. Wait until then.
Open Controls -
I'm considering ignoring the injuries to Boruc, Morrison & Clyne to do this for free as well.
Two guaranteed price risers with scoring potential is becoming more tempting by the minute!!!Open Controls
-
-
Yes.
Open Controls -
Probably seems slightly overpriced on the face of it. Imo he is coming up to his potential now after a settling in period, which most coming to a new league need.
I have him and have no intention of selling while his form stays anywhere near this good.Open Controls

Shelvey, Whittingham, Bannan or Brunt (I have Sess too...)
Need one to take me up to Jan WC. He will be sharing time in my XI with Ravel.Open Controls-
Whittingham on set pieces and pens, worth a shout..Shelvey is probably just a fluke..considered Oviedo since you just want until the WC and Baines will be back around then?
Open Controls-
bit put off by fact Baines maybe returning sooner and I really need a player with a better fixture this GW
Open Controls-
I'm getting in Howard next week and have Lukaku and Coleman or I would have done it for the short-term to replace Januzaj..
Open Controls-
think I will pass on him for this week. Whittingham is my favoured now because him and Ravel seem to have a good run of games until Xmas - cry, SUN/WBA, liv/mun, SOT, WBA/SUN, ful
Open Controls
-
-
-
-
I can't decide on this either. I have Whittingham. Have 5.8 to spend. Not keen on Shelvey and worried about Brunt being rotated. Bannan seems like the safest option.
Open Controls

stick for Saturday?
Migs
Burner, Terry, Mertesacker
Januzaj, Gerrard, Hazard, Ramsey
Suarez (c), Aguero, Lukaku
Lewis, 1. Coleman 2. Clyne 3. Ravel
1 FT, 0.8 in the bank.
thanks 🙂Open Controls -
Play Chester or Coleman this GW?
Open Controls-
I was considering the same. I'm playing Coleman I think.
Everton look tight, and Coleman always has a chance of attacking points.
I reckon Swansea will score a couple at home. Michu should be back by Monday night as well, and I have a feeling he'll come back with a bang.Open Controls -
Chester.
Swansea may not score but Arsenal will surely score.Open Controls

Oscar to Hazard, Barkley to Pozuelo for -4
yay or nay
hascto be done tonight as Haz will riseOpen Controls-
Nice moves. Do it.
Open Controls

Start Coleman (ars) or Shawcross (CHE) this week?
Open Controls-
Coin toss.
Maybe Coleman for his attacking threat.Open Controls

Here's my 8 pointer...
OUT: Vert, Lallana, RavMo
IN: Burner, Hazard, Jonjo
Yay or Nay?Open Controls -
Rooney, Sessegnon -> Yaya, Lukaku for -4? Really struggling to come to a decision, any help would be greatly appreciated
thanksOpen Controls-
Sess with a nice matchup this week, Rooney should resume banging them in and racking up points after his suspension's up.
Open Controls -
I'm guessing you don't have both Hazard and Ozil. I'd get one of them over Yaya (if you can afford Ozil that is).
Open Controls-
I have Hazard but not Ozil, Ozil is completely out of the question till jan wc unfortunately
