Yes, it’s beginning to look a lot like Christmas, which normally finds us two unwise men camped in the studio clutching presents and forlorn hopes of a festive points bonanza. This year, Granville and I appear sans gifts but with familiar Fantasy aspirations ahead of the punishing holiday schedule.

My Christmas spirit is at least buoyed by the fact that I’ve wiped the indignity of a three-figure mini-league gap between myself and my co-host, although Granville still seems to be in pipe and slippers mode. He’s all set to camp himself in front of the Two Ronnies repeats, safe in the knowledge that he’s got this season wrapped up. I just wonder.

Granville battles complacency to join me while we sift through the ScoutCast regulars and find time to pray at the altar of Luis Suarez. The most effective Fantasy Footballer ever? Much it pains some to admit it, the case for the defence is looking flimsy.

Unwrap this aural gift via this link, or sample our yuletide yodeling via the handy player below…

Mark Mark created the beast. He's now looking to tame it.

I think its worth a gamble that he plays. Nothing definite yet just paper talk and Moyes's ambiguity.

    Team FTW:

    Howard

    Coleman Ward Flanagan Chester

    Ozil Ramsey Hazard

    Rooney Suarez Negredo

    (Ravel / Brady / Collins)

Done freebie, considering getting Mirallas in for -4. Not a good idea is it?

Something has got to be done to stop these type of guys just coming in and running roughshod over English (and Welsh in this instance!) football.

We've seen it at Blackburn, it's going on at Hull, now Cardiff.

Enough is enough, but is there even a solution? How do you stop somebody purchasing something that is on the free market?

Tan hasn't invested money, he has loaned it to the club at 7%. He's talked a lot about converting debt to equity (basically meaning that the money would then not be owed back to him and it is invested) but that hasn't happened yet.

Mackay has done very well and any 'football person' looking at the situation can see he is performing very well given Cardiff are new to the division etc...

Tan deserves Cardiff to get relegated, unfortunately this also punishes the fans at the same time and I feel sorry for you guys.

Absolutely, they have got a good solid look about them, and have proven already they will get results in the Premier League, probably more than enough to stay up.

What more does Tan want for £35million? Many clubs spend that, or close to that on one player nowadays.

He clearly knows nothing about the realities of top level football.

The Southampton owners had a plan - replicate Swansea and create a slick passing side.

Tan sacked Moody and replaced him with a 20 something with no football experience who is a friend of his son and didn't even have the required visa to work here anyway. That really doesn't bode well.

Similar ethos. Keep possession, use pace on the wings. Seems simple but is surprising how many teams don't do it.

The other key for Southampton was to have a style and structure in place and get the manager to fit into that. Adkins didn't fit into that so he had to leave. This is something that Swansea have excelled at from Martinez, Rodgers etc.

I don;t get the impression that Cardiff have that sort of plan in place. They don't have the same youth set up or training facilities.

I may be wrong and Tan is a football club genius, but interfering in team selection and appointing a mate of his son with no football experience do not indicate he is on the same level as Southampton or Swansea.

Cardiff's facilities are better than Swansea's and off the top of my head I'd say that more youngsters have come through into the Cardiff first team than Swansea in recent years.

But what you say about a club's ethos where the managers are selected to fit is certainly correct.

the thing is though he won't be confirmed out. Moyes confirmed Evra out last Friday...he ended up playing 180 minutes over the week. Rooney is 50-50, we know now as much as we will ever know.

I prefer my strikers to have to potential to score big. I can only ever realistically see Hooper score 1 goal in a game. Negredo has the potential to get a hat-trick.

Need some input on my defence. At the moment it looks like this:

    Coleman - Ward - Chester - (Fonte) - (Mert)

    Any suggestions?

With Rooney looking less likely to play, sub order is imortant as well. Does Whittingham first sub look ok?

Sub order looks good to me. though it's a flip of the coin with Ward and Fonte. Think Newcastle might score. Tottenham looking ragged but they're still a biggish club. Fancy Chelsea to get a goal at least at the Emirates.

this is crazy. You just can't get rid of Rooney just becausehe is 50/50. 70% of MU opportunities come from Rooney. He is a whole season keeper.
