Yes, it’s beginning to look a lot like Christmas, which normally finds us two unwise men camped in the studio clutching presents and forlorn hopes of a festive points bonanza. This year, Granville and I appear sans gifts but with familiar Fantasy aspirations ahead of the punishing holiday schedule.

My Christmas spirit is at least buoyed by the fact that I’ve wiped the indignity of a three-figure mini-league gap between myself and my co-host, although Granville still seems to be in pipe and slippers mode. He’s all set to camp himself in front of the Two Ronnies repeats, safe in the knowledge that he’s got this season wrapped up. I just wonder.

Granville battles complacency to join me while we sift through the ScoutCast regulars and find time to pray at the altar of Luis Suarez. The most effective Fantasy Footballer ever? Much it pains some to admit it, the case for the defence is looking flimsy.

Unwrap this aural gift via this link, or sample our yuletide yodeling via the handy player below…

Mark Mark created the beast. He's now looking to tame it.

Breaking Bad's depth of characters was immense and it actually had stuff going on. Unlike Entourage where a bunch of rich people were walking around and occasionally visiting parties.

Which one will bring more points?

    a) Burner (SOT) + Burner (SUN) + Burner (WHM)
    b) Gabbi (avl) + Chester (HUL) + Fonte (WBA) + 4

          Disinterested
          adjective
1 not influenced by considerations of personal advantage : a banker is under an obligation to give disinterested advice.
2 having or feeling no interest in something : her father was so disinterested in her progress that he only visited the school once.

The constant misuse of disinterested for uninterested is breaking down a very useful distinction of meaning.
To be uninterested is to be lacking in any sense of engagement with the matter:
            Sallie is uninterested in algebra.
To be disinterested is to lack bias:
Let the company call in a disinterested mediator to settle the dispute.

I understand that, maybe I am just speaking in a way that makes no sense. Currently benteke is lacking any bias at Villa= meaning he is not intererested in winning the games or doing well while playing.

haha umm i don't think so, i'd say the opposite as he appears to be more interested in himself and personal gain, being selfish etc and therefore not giving 100%. So i'd say he is not disinterested personally.

It looks to me like he is playing shaite on purpose, cause they are not willing to move him in January. He is trying to force a move I think. I also think his agent has got something lined up for him.

They are less open as they seem to be trying to not be the worst defensive team again, but should be better on the counter. Benteke just looks like he does not care, is not running hard, no emotion, no chip on his shoulder.

Got 2 free transfers, currently thinking about getting Silva and Lallana in for Shelvey and Hazard
Does this seem like a good idea

    Ozil Morrison Barkley Hazard (Shelvey)
    Remy Negredo Suarez

Personally he's my favourite player just because I love watching him play footy. I try not to judge and just enjoy the football.
However much respect for a man that stands by his core beliefs even to his own detriment. Whether that's in terms of FPL points or any other aspect in life. It's our moral compass that keeps us on track through the messiest of storms. So kudos man.

ive a few questions on this.
i may be biased on this but how can people put henry fabregas and lampard in the same dirty category as ronaldo and saurez?
secondly, all he did was gently bite a man on the arm causing no damage whatsoever and everyone MASSIVELY overeacted. im fairly sure ivan accepted his appology didnt he? oh and the whole possibly/possibly not racist slur thing, which definately dosnt actually make him a racist.
im a gooner and for the last couple of seasons hes been my favourite player.
never a dull game when hes on the pitch.

No Rupert the horse misunderstood and he's the one that brought up the comparison you mentioned.
Personally I'm with you. He's my favourite player and I don't know him or his background so who am I to judge. Often racial prejudices as much as they suck are a product of the person's upbringing as much as their faith and political beliefs. Doesn't mean they are necessarily a bad person. A football match is a highly charged, passionate event where things like this that are ingrained are more likely to bypass the filter if you know what I mean

Indeed. People love to have someone to hate. The media have painted Suarez as the perfect target. Reality is none of us know him from a bar of soap. We see him on the telly playing footy each week and see some of his poorest judgement being put under the microscope by the media over and over again. Any of us could come up looking pretty terrible under those conditions. I know I've made plenty of mistakes that I'm not proud of through my life but that's not who I am.

The bite only made big headlines because it's an unusual way to hurt someone. And it was Suarez. A two-footer with intent can end a player's career, but wouldn't have anything like the same attention around it.

haha. no thats definately not what im saying.
i just think people over reacted in quite a strange way to the whole thing just because the offence happened to be a bite. alot of players careers have been damaged/ended by people who have purposefully/carelessly gone in on bad tackles and its quite often all forgoten a few weeks later.
i personaly think that even punching or kicking someone is a more serious offence because it has a higher chance of actualy injuring someone

They don't do it until the new year, as with the rest. Man U and most of the top clubs do the same. Simple, if you're over 30, you may gat a 1 year extension, but that is only done once at least half the season has gone so they can see how you're performing.

Newcastle new 6 fixtures: cpl STO ARS wba MCI whm

With 3 newcastle players featuring in my team - do you regard this as too much exposure ?

    krul (given)
    debucy coleman fonte gabbidon chester
    hazard yaya silva ramsey johnson

Was hoping Remy would regain some form - (that sitter he missed against southampton .... sickener ! )

I'd ship Debuchy, but in principle 3 wouldn't be so crazy. I'd just prefer two attacking NUFC players. Krul good in goal.

Out all day fellas - what's the latest thinking on Rooney? Negredo's looking like rising tonight. Might have to abandon ship. Groin strains have a habit of lingering, and personally I'd be very surprised if he played in the next couple of weeks...

Any kind of groin problem that's kept him out already will take at least a couple of weeks, probably more. Risky to play him, though Moyes has already played a half fit RVP more than once, so not impossible. Hopefully for the players he's learnt his lesson.

Cheers. Just did it. I was already at -8. -12 is insane, but gave me funds for Wally next week and hopefully I can put the Rooney fiasco of 5th YC, blank and measly assist behind me (as he goes on a tear now).

I think he has a chance of playing, but the team around him is no great shakes without RvP and with others coming back from injury. Welbeck may be the better striker to have in that case anyway. Whereas Negredo and City are heavy hitters, and as you say, he just passed the 100% threshold.

Would have thought Barkley would be getting more transfers in with fixtures and his seemingly improved "nailed-on-ness".

Oh well, when he scores/assists, it'll won't get spread around as much.

Still not totally convinced by Barkley, to be honest. I watch a fair bit of Everton and his decision-making is a real weakness. He glides wonderfully into advanvced positions, but so often frustrates with the final ball. Kind of a slower Walcott. But perhaps a continued run in the first team will help him push on. I've been trying to get shot for at least the last six or seven weeks, but always had higher priorities...

    1. Who to start?
    A) Gabbidon (NEW)
    B) Chester (wba)

    2. Should I do Shelvey ➡ Silva? Somehow I feel Silva could be very frustrating. Wally also in my list, but I already have Ramsey and Arsenal facing Chelsea for this week.

    Team:
    Mignolet
    Coleman Distin Gabbidon
    Fer Hazard Shelvey Ramsey
    Rooney Lukaku Suárez
    Subs: Lewis Morrison Chester Koscielny

Why not just do Shelvey to Walcott? Both him and Silva are made of glass but feel Walcott is slightly more explosive. I'd be tempted to play Chester ahead of Gabbidon too. I think Newcastle will score.

If it's all long ball at Palace, maybe. His technique is terrible, though. He and Jerome will be the ones getting the goals, it's just a matter of how many. It will be more than I would have thought 2 months ago, but nothing crazy.
