We’ve reached the Seventh Round of the Fantasy Football Scout Cup VII, as sponsored by Paddy Power, after 16 more teams were eliminated in the previous batch of matches. As we cast an eye over the weekend’s results and look to the next round, those still in with a shout should note that the upcoming fixtures will be played out over Gameweek 21 – the 10 fixtures on New Year’s Day do not count towards your points hauls:

Site regular Tony Hibberts Love Child squeezed into the last 16 by a one-point margin. Having won his tie 60-59, he now sits in 268th overall up – the highest-ranked manager remaining in the draw – and is up against Tdubb05 for a place in the Quarter-Finals.

Site moderator applebonkers is still in with a shout of snapping up the silverware. A 63 point-haul was enough to see him through last time around and earn him a spot against sim716 when the cup resumes in Gameweek 21.

The 2ndMan deserves a mention here. A tally of 72 points was higher than any other manager over the last round and sees him square up to 11 Men in Flight in the next round. Yes the Sess! racked up 71 points – the second-highest haul of Round 6 – and will now face FPLAaron, who, with an overall position of 464,000, is the rank outsider for the tournament.

Finally, Tal was the lowest-scoring manager to earn a spot in the next round after registering 54 points in Gameweek 19 – he now goes head-to-head with EricCantona_707.

If you want a full update on how the ties played out in the previous round, click here. Otherwise, click here for the Seventh Round details.

As always, we wish good luck to the final 16 as they brace themselves for battle!

Now a good time to bring Koscielney in (5.3m)?
No arsenal coverage at the back...
    Think he will rise soon

Koscielney in for Curtis Davies a good move? 1.2m in account
Evra, Coleman my other main defs, Burner and Wilson my also rans..

Sterling's playing time seems to be linked to Sturridge and Stevie G's return...Many feel he'll keep his spot, some say he'll get dropped. But if 3-4 weeks is your window, I'd say, why not? Not sure I would do it for a hit unless you plan on playing Sterling every week.

Mirallas to Cabaye is a good one if you just want to do a lone transfer.

Think I'm straight out of the frying pan and into the fire this week with my transfers. Gone to -4 already (gulp). Have done:
    - Dzeko ➡ Podolski
    - Sigurdsson ➡ Sterling

    To give me:

I agree, why drop Dzeko when he's fresh & just scored, & Pod plays left flank not cf generally. Ballsy.

Evening all how is everyone on the late shift?

Question would you swap out Terry for Ward this week as a second FT (already done Sess-Cabaye)?

Plan is to free up funds for either Morrison or Whitt to Lallana.

Pros: Ultimately think Palace CS more likely than Chelsea this gw. Plus all my big money ML have a palace defender and I have a decent lead.

Cons: there's not much in it, Terry has a goal threat and there's an advantage to the flexibility of taking two FTs into the next GW.

    All thoughts appreciated.

    Cheers

No, terry could easily match or out score ward and the flexibility worth more

I like having 2FT and only using 1. Makes you feel ahead of the game.

May still do the double next week to get Lallana for WBA (H) but will stick for now.

Question: let's say a side already used up all their subs and then had their keeper sent off, resulting in a field player having to play in between the sticks. if this player were to make say 4 or 5 saves would they get a save point? 😕

Saves for outfield players should be worth more! 1 point per save! Who will petition FPL?

Personally I'd say nothing urgent there, certainly not for -4

Fer and Cabaye have good fixtures this week so unless you need to play Morrison I'd leave it.

Eriksen now looking a decent option (if he gives some returns from open play as an indication of potential) with Paulinho out a month..

I think erikson has more potential with paulinho dominating possession in the middle but Erik is worth a punt if you want that differential

I don't have him, was just touting him a week or so ago before Paulinho was set to return..thinking that newlook Spurs under Sherwood might fancy him in the hole..not looking to get him, just bored 😉

    Mig

    Mert Coleman Olsson

    Whit Miralles Hazard Walcott

    Luk Suarez (C) Rooney

    Lewis, Shaw, Kim, Chester

    2FT - 0.0m in bank.

Im thinking Chester - Kos and Mirelles to 5.8m or less (maybe Tarrabt as a punt).

    Thoughts?
