We’ve reached the Seventh Round of the Fantasy Football Scout Cup VII, as sponsored by Paddy Power, after 16 more teams were eliminated in the previous batch of matches. As we cast an eye over the weekend’s results and look to the next round, those still in with a shout should note that the upcoming fixtures will be played out over Gameweek 21 – the 10 fixtures on New Year’s Day do not count towards your points hauls:

Site regular Tony Hibberts Love Child squeezed into the last 16 by a one-point margin. Having won his tie 60-59, he now sits in 268th overall up – the highest-ranked manager remaining in the draw – and is up against Tdubb05 for a place in the Quarter-Finals.

Site moderator applebonkers is still in with a shout of snapping up the silverware. A 63 point-haul was enough to see him through last time around and earn him a spot against sim716 when the cup resumes in Gameweek 21.

The 2ndMan deserves a mention here. A tally of 72 points was higher than any other manager over the last round and sees him square up to 11 Men in Flight in the next round. Yes the Sess! racked up 71 points – the second-highest haul of Round 6 – and will now face FPLAaron, who, with an overall position of 464,000, is the rank outsider for the tournament.

Finally, Tal was the lowest-scoring manager to earn a spot in the next round after registering 54 points in Gameweek 19 – he now goes head-to-head with EricCantona_707.

If you want a full update on how the ties played out in the previous round, click here. Otherwise, click here for the Seventh Round details.

As always, we wish good luck to the final 16 as they brace themselves for battle!

    For anyone contemplating transfers:

Rising today (currently): Cabaye, Sterling, Suarez, Walcott, Hazard, Gabbidon, Coleman
Outside chance: Livermore, Henderson, Debuchy, Mutch (Yay), Navas

Falling today (currently): Jagielka, Lampard, Long, Flanagan, Ramsey, Amalfitano (seriously he falls a lot), Begovic, Ivanovic, Stuart O'Keefe, Ozil (considering his anomaly).
Outside chance: Morrison, Pantilimon (again), Rooney!

Silva won't fall today but will probably tomorrow. Same for Aguero who is frankly falling too slow for my liking.

    Good night!

Sadly I can only afford one of Silva or Aguero so for me it's

        Aguero and Navas/Lallana

        or

        Lukaku and Silva

Spot on. Starting to wish I'd got him instead of Ki.

People think Gerrard will slot in midfiled with Henderson moving wide. But Allen is injured, so it shouldn't be an issue now

Last post got lost, bit of second opinion please chaps:

    A) Rav to Sterling and bench Bannan or Fer/start Terry
    B) Terry to Evra and start Bannan, Fer & Evra
    C) Flanagan to Ward and start Bannan & Fer/bench Terry

Can't really see anyone justifying 2 hits/transfers for Silva, 1 in and 1 out if you want him back in after this week

why not no other pressing issues

        silva to nasri

        then

        nasri to silva

better that than having to start whits and bannan

My thoughts exactly, holding Silva till Aguero returns.
