United’s fringe player Fabio needed fewer than five minutes to make his mark during Sunday afternoon’s FA Cup loss to Swansea. Replacing the injured Rio Ferdinand on 76 minutes, as Chris Smalling moved to centre-half, the Brazilian received his marching orders for a reckless lunge on Swansea’s Jose Cañas in the 80th minute of the 2-1 defeat:

Fabio – who has played just once in the league all season for David Moyes – now finds himself sidelined for three matches. He will therefore miss this evening’s Capital One Cup Semi-Final first leg against Sunderland in addition to the upcoming league clashes against Swansea and Chelsea.

City’s Dedryck Boyata will miss Wednesday’s Capital One Cup clash against West Ham after being dismissed in the weekend FA Cup draw at Blackburn. Handed a rare chance to impress by Manuel Pellegrini at Ewood Park, his eagerness got the better of him as two yellows brought his afternoon to an early close and his one-game ban means Pablo Zabaleta is likely to be fielded at right-back against the Hammers. The Argentine’s owners would have been hopeful of a rest but, with Micah Richards still injured, Zabaleta looks the obvious option.

Elsewhere, Southampton’s Pablo Osvaldo serves the second of a three-match ban for violent behaviour this weekend. The Italian international has already missed the cup win over Burnley but will also be sidelined for league games against West Brom and Sunderland. With Rickie Lambert forced off early due to a leg problem, Jay Rodriguez looks in pole position to be fielded as the lone striker against the Baggies at St Mary’s.

Newcastle’s Mathieu Debuchy will serve the second game of a three-match ban this weekend as the Magpies entertain City at St James’ Park, whilst West Ham skipper Kevin Nolan’s league prospects have been somewhat helped by his side’s cup ties. Nolan is currently banned for four games but, having sat out the weekend FA Cup loss at Forest, he will also miss tomorrow’s Capital One Cup clash with City, meaning he will skip just two league encounters (car, NEW) before returning for the Gameweek 23 trip to Chelsea.

The weekend cup ties ensured the Suspension Tightrope was kept busy, with 18 players having now received more than five yellow cards. Swansea’s Chico Flores, Chelsea’s Ramires and Villa duo Ashley Westwood and Ciaran Clark all picked up their sixth cautions of the campaign, though the latter two have some way to go to match their team-mate Fabian Delph. The midfielder is now the outright Tightrope leader on eight yellows – two more bookings before the second Sunday of April (Gameweek 34) and he’ll be looking at a suspension.

The problem with getting Cardiff mids, is OGS. You don't know who he's gonna field. + he has signed 2 new midfielders apparently. Magnus Eikrem and Mats Daehli. Daehli a youngster though.

Yeah, true. It's a bear market for less than 5 million though. Redmond? I don't know how nailed on he is, but he's looked good when I've seen him play and he's started the last 8-9 weeks (With very few points it must be said)

With the rise of all these Chrome tools as of late (like the Garg and the Mini-League one) is there a tool that scans player ownership based on rank?

Would like to see what percent of the ownership of some of these players come down to inactive teams that aren't in the picture..

Used my free transfer so any change i make is for a hit.. do i need to WC or just take a hit(0.1 short of Cabaye to Ozil btw)
    Marshall (Davis)
    Terry Burner Gabbidon (GJ* Distin*)
Silva Hazard Eriksen Redmond (Cabaye* )
    Suarez Rooney Podolski*

Could probably do Cabaye to Gerrard for -4
or WC which i'm tempted to do
    3 million in the bank..

Take a couple of hits and field 11. A wc is worth more than 8 Pts imo. If more injuries /some big transfers happen it could wreck your season. I'm gonna be taking a 4 pt hit and may field 532 this week.

Reason being I'd most likely jump to a 3-5-2, with rotating forwards (JRod and Bony/Ade probably) until Aguero is back. Downgrade one of the midfield big hitters to a cheapie, and Aguero in to continue with a 3-4-3 once he's back. The next 2-3 GWs seem a good shout for 3-5-2.

That's sounds like a decent plan in fact. If Aguero is back GW24, you could go into GW23 with 2 FTs and make 2 FTs that would leave enough cash for one striker > Aguero in GW24 for free.

I can't decide. So can a random stranger tell me whether to go for:

Nasti 5.1m - Good price, but Man City a bit leaky

Azpi 5.3m - Bit more than I want to spend, but 'cheapest' way into fairly solid Chelsea defence.

Fonte 5.1 - Nailed on, recent crap performances should improve with Boruc coming back.

Sorry guys posted this at the end of last post, got a couple replies but would like to see if there are more opinions. Thanks!

"Really struggling with this decision, would appreciate any suggestions!

    Mannone Marshall
    Sagna Coleman Ward Chester ________?
    Haz Ozil Silva Whittingham Ki
    Suarez Rooney JRod

Have 4.6m left (with enough to do Roon --> Aguero set aside, barring any price changes). Who would you have as the last DEF? Dont really wanna double up on Cardiff (Burner) or Sunderland (Richardson) etc. Is there a glaringly obvious option that I have missed somehow!? Thanks!"

(so far people have recommended Clyne and Olsson (NOR), is Clyne nailed on guys? and Dont really want olsson as I would like someone who rotates with Ward (ie good fixtures GW21 and GW24).

4 point hit is required to get Ozil in. Determined to keep my WC, so which is the best transfer plan?

    Howard / Harper
    Coleman / Kosc / Clyne / Walker / Chester
    Walcott / Silva / Hazard / Cabaye / Sterling
    Lukaku / Suárez / Rooney

    A. Wally & Cabaye > Ozil & Colback (Allowing enough for Sterling > Lallana / Eriksen next GW)
    B. Wally & Rooney > Ozil & Giroud
    C. Wally & Howard > Ozil & Mannone
