United’s fringe player Fabio needed fewer than five minutes to make his mark during Sunday afternoon’s FA Cup loss to Swansea. Replacing the injured Rio Ferdinand on 76 minutes, as Chris Smalling moved to centre-half, the Brazilian received his marching orders for a reckless lunge on Swansea’s Jose Cañas in the 80th minute of the 2-1 defeat:

Fabio – who has played just once in the league all season for David Moyes – now finds himself sidelined for three matches. He will therefore miss this evening’s Capital One Cup Semi-Final first leg against Sunderland in addition to the upcoming league clashes against Swansea and Chelsea.

City’s Dedryck Boyata will miss Wednesday’s Capital One Cup clash against West Ham after being dismissed in the weekend FA Cup draw at Blackburn. Handed a rare chance to impress by Manuel Pellegrini at Ewood Park, his eagerness got the better of him as two yellows brought his afternoon to an early close and his one-game ban means Pablo Zabaleta is likely to be fielded at right-back against the Hammers. The Argentine’s owners would have been hopeful of a rest but, with Micah Richards still injured, Zabaleta looks the obvious option.

Elsewhere, Southampton’s Pablo Osvaldo serves the second of a three-match ban for violent behaviour this weekend. The Italian international has already missed the cup win over Burnley but will also be sidelined for league games against West Brom and Sunderland. With Rickie Lambert forced off early due to a leg problem, Jay Rodriguez looks in pole position to be fielded as the lone striker against the Baggies at St Mary’s.

Newcastle’s Mathieu Debuchy will serve the second game of a three-match ban this weekend as the Magpies entertain City at St James’ Park, whilst West Ham skipper Kevin Nolan’s league prospects have been somewhat helped by his side’s cup ties. Nolan is currently banned for four games but, having sat out the weekend FA Cup loss at Forest, he will also miss tomorrow’s Capital One Cup clash with City, meaning he will skip just two league encounters (car, NEW) before returning for the Gameweek 23 trip to Chelsea.

The weekend cup ties ensured the Suspension Tightrope was kept busy, with 18 players having now received more than five yellow cards. Swansea’s Chico Flores, Chelsea’s Ramires and Villa duo Ashley Westwood and Ciaran Clark all picked up their sixth cautions of the campaign, though the latter two have some way to go to match their team-mate Fabian Delph. The midfielder is now the outright Tightrope leader on eight yellows – two more bookings before the second Sunday of April (Gameweek 34) and he’ll be looking at a suspension.

    Anything on Rooney?

if he's out I'm looking at a -4, but who to go for

    a) Danny Pele (Welbeck)

    b) Short term punt on Bony

    c) JRod before he rises and pre-empt my wc?

    d) Someone else (who?)

Also got them, plus Krul and Baker. Luckily a lot of them were on the bench anyway.

I'm coming round to the idea of a -4, although it's as much about Rooney's position as him not playing.

    Evening all

I've been a regular reader of the site for the last few years but never posted on the forum; until today!

So why post now you may ask, well I feel its time to give something back to the site that I've stalked for the past few years and I need some advice and would appreciate your help.

    My team;

    Gazzaniga

    Sagna - Coleman - Mert

    Sterling - Silva - Hazard - Cabaye

    Rooney - Lukaku - Suarez

    (Davies Chester Baker Walcott)

    I made my free transfer to get Sterling in last week (can't help but make some cash), so I have no transfers left for the gameweek. So what do you recon guys;

    a) take a hit and get Ozil in for Walcott

    b) use wildcard (reluctant to use in all honesty for a number of reasons)

    c) let it ride

    Cheers

      Welcome NWJ
Would have preferred chocolates or something but your team will do.
My belief is you would need ozil to get couple of assists to recoup hit. So it all comes down to if you are willing to rude the cash loss to save the hit.

Rooney and Wallcot >>> Ade and Ozil
for me i never gamble on defense so i would get Terry over Mert
with the cash left upgrade sterling to Lallana if possible , if u cant...try getting another low cash punt(not Sterling!) and get a better keeper/defender sub

Eriksen has played 4 consecutive 90min EPL game and seems to be great at the front-end, Cabaye doesn't miss a shot 😛 , i went for Eriksen for now.
Ade is definitely in my team ... HE IS A MONSTER! and i dont fancy welbeck a lot.
Aguero is my dilemma , i guess ill have two free transfers(plus a hit) to get him back .

    Lost faith in Utd players...

Just did Rooney and Janu --------> Giroud and Scott Parker (for free)

Leaves me with enough cash to do Lukaku ----------> Aguero next week.

    Good business?

I;m not sure about that as you just got rid of United best players. Giroud is lacking confidence it seems but maybe the rest he just had will help him. As for Parker....erm no comment!

Aye Utds best players but Arsenal have better fixtures and are on form. Besides, Janu or Parker are bench fodder so better to have someone that is nailed over someone who isn't. Rooney is great but not worth the money imo, while he is injured and played out of position.

That's the Arsenal fan in you though. In reality If Giorud is playing as striker, in those 3 AM spots Ramsey, Cazorla, Podolski, occasionally Rosicky are probably ahead of him Ox coming back too. For a 5th mid you want at least a reliable 2pts for when one of your players misses out. He's not that. Even if he does play occasionally he's not amazing and going to get lots of points.

Wenger rates him and he's shown enough to start against the smaller clubs. 4.2 frees up a lot of cash for top players.

Might be best to keep the three you have unless you want the funds to free up cash...

I'm not 100% he'll start but he has pace and thats what Arsenal need on the wings.

Seeing as Walcott's falling in price......
