Reading about people getting rid of Roonpig, I'm thinking of captaining him.

If I do captain him and he doesn't start Suarez as VC will pick it up. I can't see Rooney being a sub coming on for a cameo. United are desperate to win and I think if he does start he could score a few.

Picking Suarez every week is boring and Stoke are capable of keeping him quiet(ish)

Anyone else thinking of not captaining Suarez?

    I await your responces

Form safety perhaps, I'm not convinced he will be the highest scoring player this gw though. Arsenal are up aginst a dismal Villa side who are even worse on their own patch.

was on United's books as a kid. Very much a deep lying mid, don't see him as a great FPL pick and not sure who he'd displace in the team, he's certainly nowhere near as good as Medel. Maybe replacing Mutch I suppose.

Nasri's price leaves you kinda short as it's not enough for an ARS or CHE heavy hitter...

So after a quick check of the season ticker, I'd say take a 3/4 week punt on:

      - Lallana, SOT
      - Fer, NOR
      - Eriksen, TOT
      - Coutinho, LIV

i have a crap memory so i'm only posting this now despite discussing it elsewhere a couple of days ago.
    HULL CITY's DEFENCE
basically i think context is essential with their so far very good home defensive record. 6 clean sheets, all at home, making chester appear a mega-bargian, as predictability is so useful in FPL.
however, let me list the clean sheets: norwich, west ham, aston villa, sunderland, stoke, fulham. now list the league table (ok i wont bother with that but you get the point).
these are hull's remaining home games: chelsea, tottenham, southampton, newastle, man city, west brom, swansea, arsenal, everton. i'd personally rank all these 10 sides above all those 6 clean sheet victims above, certainly in terms of goal threat, give or take a west brom and a villa.
long story short, i'm expecting a serious down-turn in hull's clean sheet return, they'll get all those weaker teams away but i'm still expeting about 3 clean sheets to come, as opposed to a healthier 6 so far. chester would still be my pick of the under 4mil bunch, but i think the numbers posted so far make a slightly deceptive picture

Looking at the results so far, there's only really WBA of the away fixtures where I'd have expected a cleansheeet. The way the fixtures have fallen, I don't think they've had much opportunity to show whether they can keep it tight against lower league opposition on the road. Maybe there's still hope of some decent returns yet!

Is anyone else's plans completely messed up now that Cardiff has signed a new midfielder (not to mention reports of a second midfielder incoming)?

Maybe my plan wasn't a very good one if it falls apart purely because my 4.6m 5th midfielder might not start every game.....

My defense will have Kompany, Baines (f not fit, then Coleman), Kosc, and Ward.

Would like to replace Chester as I'm not sure (as AB mentioned above) that Hull will keep a lot of cleansheets going forward. Plus with everyone having Chester it'll be good to switch it up..any suggestions? Not sold on keeping Burner yet as he may lose his regular spot under Ole..

Exactly, they've presumably trained it using stats from the past few years and they're surprised it is an expert at winning in those years?

I don't doubt you can program a computer to consistently get in the top 10% or something but top 1% cannot be done on skill alone, there's too much luck involved. Plus how does it analyse newspaper reports and such like without human help?

I met these guys and have seen some of this model - the main problem they have is the human input element - the stuff like the probabilities based on team news and injury data that we put into Rate My Team. Without this, any model looking to predict Fantasy points is limited. When you add that the model can improve but then the information being entered has to be of decent quality too.
