    @HVT / anyone

After trying all week not to WC I am now thinking whether to just use it now! Similar position to you.

    Walcott used my FT
Davis Gazza combo about to break with Boruc maybe back
    Cabaye a doubt
    Rooney a doubt
Sterling place under threat either now or soon

My only reluctance is that I would want Aguero once he's back and maybe Ramsey but too soon to get them yet.

But that's just 2 transfers...the rest of my WC squad I am pretty settled on.

Who's with me on keeping Rooney for the weekend? Have an inkling he'll start. If not Clyne off the bench ain't so bad

Still not sure. Want to bring Ozil in for theo, and in order to do so need to drop rooney/cabaye. Hopefully we'll have a better idea tomorrow if he's likely to play

You are settling for Clyne off the bench - consider this

Thats a lot of money with a groin strain sitting on the bench - and playing injured.

Imho - Put that money to work elsewhere

Keeping him, he'll definitely play, no one at United has said the opposite:
      Rested in the cup,
United really needs him, strong attacker and leader to turn the tide for united.
      On pens

I have 5 injured players. One won't play and other 4 are unsure.

      Boruc
      Rooney
      Yaya
      Cabaye

      Walcott

I reckon he will start so I am not taking a hit or playing WC.

my mate (cardiff fan) says ole may give hudson as run out as the other CB, but could stick with burner due him being left footed (which was why malky always played him with Caulker). He's suggested John as a punt. Played very well in the last 2 games by all accounts. I've got burner in my wc team, but may look elsewhere as it seem undecided what the first choice back 4 may be at the bluebirds

    a) Keep Rooney, probably go -4 next week to sell him and Lukaku to Kun and Bony
    b) Sell Rooney for Giroud and keep him for 2 GWs before selling for Bony
    c) Bring in Negredo, under the same terms as Giroud, and have triple City attack v Cardiff

Why is silva and/or Oscar in most wildcard team over gerrard. Surely both are rotation risks? Plus gerrard is on pens.

I hate it when I got 8.7m sat on the bench.

      Not mad on Gerrard.
Went on a nice streak of getting good set piece returns but didn't do much from play all season.
First 5/6 games he did nothing, though. Not the most exciting pick for me.

With Defoe taking off, until another striker is signed, can Sherwood afford to stick with a 4-4-2? Won't he want to have a good fresh option off the bench? I know the system has been beneficial, but with the current squad, I worry if the 4-4-2 will be maintained. Thoughts? Utter stupidity on my part? 😳

After trying all week not to WC I am now thinking whether to just use it now!

    My WC team would be

    Boruc Davis
    Terry Coleman Ward Chester Burner
    Hazard Silva Ozil Lallana Puncheon
    Suarez Negredo* Lukaku

*Cash in bank for obligatory Aguero switch

This is only 5 transfers (20 point hit) from my current team.

    Worth it?

The hit would probably have to be Gazza > Boruc to make sure I have a GK.

I would still be relying on one of Cabaye or Rooney starting.

i was in the same situation and thought like this:

I' must eep wildcard for when aguero gets back so:
take a 4pt hit to do wally to ozil
        still have some injury doubts
have some players you're not sure on
watch players you want rise in price.

        Then thought:

        WC now:
        no points hits
        catch the price rises
get 15 players that aren't injured and you want
        save some cash
        no transfer next week
then 2 FT to do Ozil to Ramsey & Adebayor to Aguero

My advice is WC now, you'll have a full team for no hits and catch the price rises. possible doensides are further injuries and transfer activity though.

Similar situation to my own with the same injury risks and Januzaj, Evans and Chester on the bench and I'm trying to resist the temptation.

Doesn't sound too bad then. I think Sterling will play, Burner is the great unknown in terms of why did Ole pick Hudson for the cup game last week but I'd expect a Cardiff clean sheet so there's good potential there and Chester's game with Chelsea is not the best but they probably won't concede more than one or two.

On balance I think I'd stick but the temptation to WC is there.

          good luck

In my quest to fit RVP into my wildcard team, I've looked into a cheap "play 2 from 4" defence to go alongside Coleman. I've landed on a pretty strong one I think:

    Sot/Sun/Car/Hul

    Fixtures from gw23-38:
    STK, pal
    NOR, ful
    STK, HUL
    AVL, hul
    HUL, whm
    WBA, NEW
    FUL, pal
    NOR, PAL
    WBA, nor
    WHM, NEW
    PAL, WBA
    CAR, EVE/sou
    STK, avl
    CAR, EVE/ful/sun
    swa, avl
    SWA, EVE

In essence it is mostly a 2x2 with Car/Sun and Sot/Hul. The majority of away fixtures in the rotation are for Southampton

Looks pretty good - although WBA home, as an example, is a lot better for Sot than it is for Car. So hard to really judge it. Nice thinking though. 🙂

Wasn't planning on using the January wild card so early, if at all, but injuries are forcing my hand. Any reasons why I shouldn't go with this?

    Gk. Boruc & Davis

Def. Coleman - Chester - Kos - Ward - Burner

    Mid. Hazard - Silva/Yaya - Ozil - Redmond - Kasami

Fwd. Suarez - JRod - Lukaku

Will leave me enough funds to get in Aguero for Lukaku once he's back.
What d'ya reckon, should I bite the bullet and press the button?

    Bad moment to wild card.
Lots of strong, among the very best players you would have brought in/kept on your wild card.

But you don't because their doubts/not back from injuries quite yet.

You'll have to use week after week after wild carding to get them in:

    Rooney
    Aguero
    Van persie
    Ramsey
    Silva
    Cabaye
    Baines

    Etc.

Can make plans to get one or two of them in for free, but as we know, long term plans are usually messed up with injuries, tempted by new players on form/off form, and you end up taking hit after hit to finally get the wildcard team you actually wanted...

Is this a good wildcard team?

    Marshall, Mannone
    Terry, Koscielny, Coleman, Clyne, Chester
    Hazard, Lallana, Cabaye, Ramsey, Mutch
    Lukaku, Suarez, Aguero

    0.4m left in the bank.

Don't fancy Yaya and Silva if i have Aguero. Silva may get rotated with CL and Yaya may disrupt the balance of this team.

I can get RVP in by doing Cabaye and Aguero > Barkley and RVP.

As for not having enough heavy hitters, i will captain Suarez most weeks anyway. If i want to mix it up, Aguero, Hazrad and even Lukaku offer good choices.

Southampton have great fixtures hence the Shaw and Lallana inclusions.

    What do you think?
