the protection rules changed this season so it's no longer 8 days from removal of a flag (or even 8 days from the changing of a flag). the guys on totalfpl aren't able to confirm the exact new rules though sadly but suffice to say i think it means aguero will have no protection either.

Right im about 60points behind top spot. Should I just carry on doing my thing, or try to to something different in terms of differentials and risky captain changes? I cant see past Suarez captain most weeks. Whats the best way to catch a lead?

You only need 1 or 2 differentials to catch up!
I was about 50 points behind in my mini league with only J Rod and Walcott as the only differentials in my team and J Rod bought in a 16 point haul and then a sneaky Walcott captaincy closed it straight away!

Your right man it just i seem to be beating him by 10points one week and then he does the same the week after and im back to square one. I think I just need to wait for one of those weeks. But that could also happen to him where he has a mad week and il be left further behind. This is why im quite reluctant to change things up too much,

Two basic rules I stick by.
Try and get on good players for that season early, some you will guess and some will just appear.
Stay loyal to your big players, they all go through bad patches.
Not saying it will win you the title but it saves a lot of thinking and usually gives you cash to play withOpen Controls

Just a suggestion, you'd probably get a better response if you did a bit more work to digest it for people. Make it easier for them to compare.
I like the teams, despite my personal aversion to Giroud. The difference boils down to:
A) Ward, Baines & Januzaj
B) Terry, Kolarov & Ki
I don't personally think you need Baines if you have Coleman, and I prefer the extra big-hitter at the back as first sub instead of Gnabry, so B for me.Open Controls

im shifting the players marked with * obviously going to put aguero in for negredo just wondering on advice in terms of sterling and ivanovich... after the aguero transfer i will have around 11.8 to play with shall i stick the likes of a cheap defender e.g chester in that place and invest the rest (7.9 atm) for a decent mid or shall i balance the 11.8 between the two positions? if so any thoughts on potential buys. cheers ladsOpen Controls -

Are you playing 3 at the back ?
If you have strong mid and fwd, then when are you going to play all 4 of Cole, Kosc, Kola, Azpi ?
Nice to have a strong rotation….but I think Baines will outscore Coleman all season, and the times you'll use Ward will be few.
Are you likely to get more points from Coleman and a rotation between the other 3 bigger hitting defenders ?
(and that's if Azpi doesn't get rotated once Ivan is fit again…)

Perhaps consider not doubling ARS and just doing a 4-'big-man' defence…
then maybe you can up Coleman to Baines or afford Rams and Aguero ?

Thanks people some excellent feedback. The cs theory was posted on one of the articles here & with defence having more differentials than m/f & attack it seemed a good approach. I like the Baines idea & could afford it by downgrading Kosc. I agree that I have created a selection headache so I'll tweak it a bit. Assuming Welbeck still has the gig I'll keep him & sell gw26. I'll try to have at least 1.0 itb for any transfer window surprises.
