The first of seven Saturday encounters kicks off at the Stadium of Light as Sunderland entertain Southampton this lunchtime.

Following the Wearside encounter, there are five games to focus on at 3pm, with Arsenal and City’s home clashes against Fulham and Cardiff heavily-backed by Fantasy managers. The evening match at Anfield then follows, as Captain Poll favourite Luis Suarez looks to run riot against Villa’s porous backline.

The Black Cats are looking for a fourth straight win on all competitions and, having already beaten City, Chelsea and United at home under Gus Poyet, they’ll fancy their chances of claiming another scalp against Adam Lallana and co.

As always, you can look to our Twitter feed for all the teamsheet news, while our Dugout Discussion chatroom has opened up to cater for your real-time requirements for this game and all of today’s matches.

Someone suggested Hazard a few pages back. Not a bad gamble, but seeing as how Suarez got a goal and assist the first time around in the derby, I'll stick with him.

As a comparison I'm not quite sure why JRod has such low ownership compared to cost (11% £6.3) compared to Giroud (24% 8.7m), Lukaku (28% 8.7m), Remy (13% £8.1m) . Not only does owning JRod allow you to have a premium defender, midfielder or Aguero, he will also score the same or better than the other three based on Southampton's generous fixture list.

Paying more for the likes of Sturridge makes perfect sense as that kind of player has the potential for flagged burst damage on double returns in predictable games. But for one goal or asist every-other-game plodders he's surely the more logical option?

JRod is a great budget pick, and seems to score equally as well as the much more popular Lallana

The main issue is, there are more mid-priced striker options than there are mid-priced midfielder options

I think it more has to do with psyche. That is of the two you mentioned earlier are predicted to do better than what their price suggests as compared to J.Rod.
So far that's not the case..

It's the same I studied in business.. Same product, with more expensive package, and hefty price tag, is liable to sell more than the cheap packaged one.

As a Clyne owner I'm struggling to see any Saints defensive option that isn't Boruc that is worth owning.

Shaw and Clyne are injury prone, Fonte and Lovren get the odd rest and their attacking returns are unpredictable.

Boruc/Davis with Boruc every week makes the most sense as at least you have a decent chance of save points. Will be going with this on wc now for sure
