Gameweek 24 is set to bring us the winner of the Fantasy Football Scout Cup VII, as sponsored by Paddy Power, after the semi-finals came to a conclusion last night. Our two finalists are Ajax and Tdubb05, with the former perhaps the slight favourite due to his higher overall rank (23,379 compared to 37,953):

Tdubb05 will have no qualms over the underdog tag, though, after he narrowly edged out former cup favourite Cunny Funts by 61 points to 60 points in the previous round. Ajax, on the other hand, safely secured his passage with a 63 – 46 win over Tal in the other semi-final, after the later took an eight-point hit prior to last Tuesday’s deadline.

Looking at the two finalists, there are four players – Luis Suarez, Sergio Aguero, Yaya Toure and Eden Hazard – currently sitting in both sides. If Aguero is ruled out of City’s clash with Chelsea on Monday, the decision to replace the Argentine could go some way towards determining the tie, though.

At present, Tal has five players set to feature in Monday night’s encounter at the Etihad and only has three fit defenders, whilst Ajax – who has already made two transfers – will be hoping his decision to double up on Arsenal’s backline pays off.

Cunny Funts and Tal will go head-to-head for in the third vs fourth place play-off. At present, the duo have four of the same players – Suarez, Aguero, Toure and Everton’s injured defender Seamus Coleman – but Cunny Funts’ winter wildcard is now active, leaving his opponent guessing.

As we discussed previously, it’s not just bragging rights on offer here – the top three will be rewarded for their exploits.

Winner – £100 worth of free bets. £100 Amazon voucher
Runner-up – £50 worth of free bets. £50 Amazon voucher
3rd Place – £50 worth of free bets. £25 Amazon voucher

As always, we wish all four the best of luck as they brace themselves for battle!

is Chambers really a good option?

I mean as far as 3.9m defenders go..didn't watch Soton on the weekend..is he keeping Clyne out due to good form?

I'd take any 3.9 defender at southampton over the other clubs if they were assured starts.Depends if you want to risk transferring him out in a couple of weeks

well he's a 3.9m player so it is what it is..Chester's home fixtures ain't great and with him injured could be a good stopgap if I need

not doing this week anyways so will have time to assess

indeed! that's why I'm in no rush to get rid of Colback until it's as an absolute luxury as he's a 5th mid and my current wishlist for 5th mids aren't going anywhere in price anytime soon!

I have no idea who I want as 5th mid. Currently have 5 big spenders as I have extra cash from not having Aguero to play about with. can think of that when he's back

3-4-3. Probably benching Hazard!!! Went with Dzeko over Aguero and put my buckets of extra cash into upgrading my 5th mid to Mata with the hopes of downgrading again when Agueros fit.

At the moment my front 8 are:

                      Hazard Silva Mata Eirksen Lallana

                      Suarez Adebayor Dzeko

Hazard has the most difficult fixture of the lot and I'm very cagey about dropping a Striker for a mid. gotta expect the strikers to score

I would go with Negredo and Mata, last season Mata delivered 11 goals and 18 assists. He will unquestionably deliver atleast some of that form. Negredo also looks very good, espiecially at home.

            GW 6, 7, 8, 9 and 10 - Reid and Tomkins started together.

Comparing last season is irrelevant - Tomkins is a young player improving year on year.

The ONLY nailed defenders there are Demel and Reid

Did I miss some news about Negredo? Is Jovetic as a threat being legitimized in people's minds because of the appearance yesterday indicating Negredo is not first choice, or is he presumed to be still hurt? If Pellegrini had no plans to play him yesterday then perhaps Jovetic was the only choice he had -- isn't a healthy Negredo still top choice? Thanks.

Jovetic will not simply be thrown in at the deep end, especially with their toughest and most important game of the season coming up.

It'll be Negredo up top on his own. 100%

Would get someone else for Chambers. He might lose his place for Clyne anytime soon.

It's a shame Coleman is injured, because if you'd bought him early, you'd be able to have him instead of Baines and Adebayor instead of JRod. If that team was possible/not injured, I would be very impressed. Still an excellent team, though.

Prob. A but you are living hand to mouth each week over gametime. Jecko has equal claims on current form.

Yes, rotation problems - Pelli talking up Jovetic also, who is the like for like replacement for aguero, meaning dzeko or negredo might be benched...

Another Whammers question: what's going on with Jussi and Adrian? I see Jussi isn't injured so presumably out of favour.

WHM and SOT make a great gk rot if so.

Adrian has been gunning for the first keeper spot for a while and BFS like him a lot. He's also a ridiculously talented boy so I can't see him being dropped.

Recall Doosra being big on Adrian way back. Since he's started has been solid. Guess he will stay first choice till a couple blunders.

Funny how the season can change your beliefs as it progresses. I thought United had been mad to let Brady, Morrison and Chester go early this season. I understand it much better now.

hmm im pretty certain city will score which makes it a bit silly bringing him in, but it would be for long term.... whereas mert would be 1 week double up with kosc v palace (would do mert to terry next week)

If you want a United striker RVP is v the only option. If you want United midfielders, you can have Roo or Mata, obviously the cheaper one who is actually classified as a mid is the best choice.

Right here is my predicament I rushed into doing Silva-Mata this week with the intention of doing Ozil-Yaya the week after, this of course was before Aguero was injured I'm wondering if a -8 is worth doing Rvp and Evans in for Aguero and Coleman? This will not allow me to get Yaya next week for Ozil but could switch him for Silva. what do you think. I'm currently carrying Coleman Chester Aguero all injured and Pozuelo who is out of favour.

I have a similar problem, I would wait till some news comes out about Aguero then make a decision, depending on whether you have taken many hits before it could be okay doing it? I would take out Coleman as he will eventually drop in price and I don't think he can keep it up!

Yes I can only just afford to do it I've still got one eye on the cup as well, know I won't win it but furthest I've been and want to keep the run going, I have been handed a fairly favourable draw it seems however
