The title summons up imagery of Granville straddling me at the Potter’s wheel, lovingly helping to craft a clay creation as we unite to sculpt out a Van Persie bust – in true Lionel Ritchie’s “Hello” style.

That’s probably lost approximately half of our potential audience who are too young to recall the analogy. The other half are likely to be repelled by the image of Granville and I caught in a Swayze/Moore-like clinch.

If you’re part of the minority still sticking around, curious to hear how the above nonsense translates into a podcast, then listen up. You’ll catch the plenty of Wildcard ribbing, a tale of captain calamity exposed by this week’s community questions and the usual array of regulars.

Prepare to be haunted via this link or exorcise your right to stream via the handy player below.

Mark Mark created the beast. He's now looking to tame it.

I've been looking at the FA Cup fixtures and the Premiership fixtures that will have to be moved depending on results.
I’ve assigned the % chance of each premiership team winning – let’s not argue over random 5%’s!

    Fulham (70%) vs Sheffield United
    Sunderland (50%) vs Southampton (50%)
    Cardiff (70%) vs Wigan
Man City (60%) vs Chelsea (40%)
    Everton (65%) vs Swansea (35%)
    Arsenal (55%) vs Liverpool (45%)
    Brighton vs Hull (50%)

Using these %’s here are the fixtures for week 29 with how likely they are to be on:
    WBA vs MUN 100%
    NOR vs STO 100%
    CHE vs TOT 60%
    CPL vs SOU 50%
    WHM vs HUL 50%
    MCI vs AVL 40%
    NEW vs EVE 35%
    ARS vs SWA 30%
    LIV vs SUN 28%
    CAR vs FUL 9%

In the worst case scenario we could have only four games being played.
One of Chelsea and Tottenham will have a fixture.
It is possible that the only other game to be played in week 29 would be either CPL vs SOU or NEW vs EVE.
I thought my Boruc/Mannone rotation meant I was safe in week 29 but if Southampton and Liverpool win (23% chance) then I end up with no keeper – and barely any outfield players!

We'll have two gameweeks to plan once we know the results (assuming no replays) but with no MCI, MUN, SUN or WBA the week before this is going to be tough!

As long as you have another playing keeper in those weeks, you'd have a keeper with 2 DGWs to come...

I think it's a viable strategy, it's what I'm planning to do in my WC...

I plan on having Boruc(on WC) and the one week that I would need a backup over the next 6, Mannone gives a horrible fixture. Am just taking a different tack, I understand the appeal in terms of cheapies for the long rn but if you have to play him soon.....

Posted this the other day when the games were on but pages were so fast moving then it only got one response:

What do you think of this suggestion for a change to FPL...: Each week you get two free transfers rather than one. My reasoning is that it would make the game a) more interesting and b) more skillful overall.

I personally feel that the current setup with only one free transfer makes the game a bit too static and that increasing it to two would really liven things up each week. Managers would have a bit more of decision to make each week and could make a bigger difference to their team/performance.

The opportunity to take a punt on a player each week would increase, with the knowledge you have two frees the following week to shake things up again. It would help deal with injuries too, as sometimes I feel I spend more time firefighting injuries than actually bringing in the exciting/attacking players I want.

If I could change one thing with the current game, this would be it. Thoughts?

Would just condense the pack as everyone would be able to get the best players twice as fast. The skill comes in identifying the players early and if everyone else can get on them twice as fast that lessens your advantage.

I know what you mean BG but you'd also get more room to bring in more of the up and coming players ahead of the main pack, so you'd have more chance to utilise your foresight and judgement imo. I just feel the 1 FT really shackles the game.

How about starting a new season with the team you finished last season with?

If you were riding the bandwagons and bought cheap players like Coleman and Ramsey and held them all season, why should you be punished by having to pay premium prices the next season?

it will be an unfair playing field for those new players who have just entered the competition. and in the event the team u finish with have alot of players injuried/sold before the start of the season are u going to take numerous hits to transfer them out just b4 season starts? those new players without a team also get to choose whoever they want in the team..thus enjoying the benefit of another wc

very soon every1 will have the same players with all the crazy high team value ppl have. the current 1 ft is great becos it allows ppl to make a decision btw taking hits or only using the 1ft..who will take hits if every 1 week u can change 2 players. it will only encourage ppl to keep making short term moves instead of awarding those who plan ahead.

This is a repost from last night but some may not have seen it, hopefully it helps show the situation in week 29. As a previous FFS article stated there is a chance that PL games could be rescheduled during the same game week, although this is not what happened last season....

I've been looking at the FA Cup fixtures and the Premiership fixtures that will have to be moved depending on results.
I’ve assigned the % chance of each premiership team winning – let’s not argue over random 5%’s!

    Everton (65%) vs Swansea (35%)
    Arsenal (55%) vs Liverpool (45%)
    Brighton vs Hull (50%)

Using these %’s here are the fixtures for week 29 with how likely they are to be on:
    WBA vs MUN 100%
    NOR vs STO 100%
    CHE vs TOT 60%
    CPL vs SOU 50%
    WHM vs HUL 50%
    MCI vs AVL 40%
    NEW vs EVE 35%
    ARS vs SWA 30%
    LIV vs SUN 28%
    CAR vs FUL 9%

In the worst case scenario we could have only four games being played.
One of Chelsea and Man City (corrected from previous post) will have a fixture.
It is possible that the only other game to be played in week 29 would be either CPL vs SOU or NEW vs EVE.

4 including the two 100% games (WBA vs MUN and NOR vs STO)
There could be more games, that is worst case scenario.

At the moment I'm pretty resigned to having a poor week in 29.
There is no way of knowing what is going to happen and I wouldn't let this affect my transfers or WC at the moment - although 3 players from MUN, MCI and SUN would be a bad idea!

Dzeko surely a good option? I don't see him being rotated much, seems pelle trusts him and think he goes well with any of the other strikers. And with the fixtures coming up it has to be an option. Whatcha think? We missed his flurry of points?

For 6.7 he's a steal, a bit of a rotation risk potentially but that's the only downside I can see. Take the points while the going is good and lose when his gametime looks dodgy.

Well it gives you a cheap way into City attack and frees up approx 3 million to strengthen elsewhere, Ie, instead of Negredo, Sturridge etc. Serving me quite well at the moment.

Anybody realised that based on minutes paired and excluding Jovetic, Negredo has been far and away City's worst striker in the league? About 370 minutes more than Dzeko and only 2 goals more than him. About 150 minutes less than Agüero and 6 goals fewer. Assist wise he's level with Dzeko and 5 behind Agüero.

    So:
Agüero = 79.4 mins per goal, 132.33 mins per assist.
Dzeko = 136 mins per goal, 238.25 mins per assist.
Negredo = 146.67 mins per goal, 330 mins per assist.

    Negredo who? 😉

As far as this game is concerned its about points scored, Dzeko outdoes Negredo for p.p.m and is 3 million cheaper. For the purposes of this Dzeko is much much better value.
