Our Gameweek regular for members is rolled out once again ahead of tomorrow’s deadline. Liverpool’s trip to West Brom sees Luis Suarez and Daniel Sturridge place highly in the Captain Poll, whilst United’s visit to Stoke also supplies our analysis with a couple of popular contenders. Arsenal’s home game against Palace also comes into the reckoning, whilst we also unmask this week’s “Captain Unsensible” and cite the statistics to back up our bold punt:

So i'm thinking about playing Gnabry and benching Hazard. Gnabry's been playing well and has a decent fixture, whereas Hazard has a terrible fixture.

Hazard has played top 6 teams 8 times this season and returned 1 goal. I forsee another blank, whereas Gnabry is looking like he'll get some attacking returns.

    Crazy?

I totally get that they have improved a lot, but for a home game for Arsenal I would expect at least a couple of Arsenal goals. Whereas for Man Utd at Stoke for example, I can see them not scoring at all possibly.

From leaning towards Benteke yesterday as an Aguero replacement I think that Dzeko at that bargain price has to be worth it, Can then beef up team elsewhere.

city attacking team... i remember that 6-3 vs ars
good chance for che to score.
if haz score points and u have him on the bench, then big blow for u, given haz ownership %

if u need to take risks, might be worth, but I'd say it's extreme.

This is my thinking. But, as its an away game and the fact City will probably score more than Chelsea - Hazard would not be awarded bonus points as say Giroud if he scores v Palace at home.

RVP is RVP and we know what he's capable of. I wouldn't have regrets over bringing him.

Problem is only the price, but in a configuration of Oscar, Aguero -> RVP and Lallana, it is irresistible.

I'm guessing some might wonder how Mata's arrival impacts on set-pieces at United. Obviously impossible to truly gauge given they've only played 63 minutes together, but all right sided corners and longer range free-kicks were taken by Mata not RvP v Cardiff. When Rooney came on, he took from the left (though after failing to beat the first man twice he handed them back to Young) and Mata still from the right.

Whether this pattern continuing is a good thing or a bad thing depends on how you look at it.

Mata taking those off him reduces RvP's assist potential. But, especially from corners, it could be argued that it boosts his goal potential as now he can be in the box, where you'd want him, as he actually decent in the air instead of taking the corner.

Interesting, I do remember RvP getting quite a few jammy assists from corners though I also remember him scoring quite a few in the box off of Rooney's corners. It's probably a net positive for a finisher of his quality to be in the box.

Are you taking him on your WC?

Personally i have always thought that having RvP take corners was a bit of a waste. He is magnificent in the air and even better on the volley.

      Solution;

Have both RVP and Mata in your squad!

Really - I thought there were quite a few risers.

Or is that just for your team? I was really hoping to save a transfer this week but Agueros injury scuppered that.

yeah everybody forced to do Agúero → mostly Sturridge makes everything kind of bland...

So so so tempted, but its a lottery picking 1 of 3 when not even 2 are guaranteed to play.

Just my opinion, but I think he is more nailed on than Dzeko and Negredo. He also has only 0.3% ownership so the rewards are high.

The only thing stopping me is Sturridge is the more sensible and probably better pick.

Too many punts of mine go bad (curse you LOLarov!).... so no. Not with options like Sturridge, Tekkers, and the like out there.

He's 8.8. Not enough goal output for that price IMO.

Due to him playing better and in a better team at the moment.

Anybody else think that Studge may rip up a WBA def that just conceded 4 to Villa? (Albeit on the road)

I may do Aguero to Studge and see how the City forward situation plays out v Chelsea. Can always get one of them in for Studge then later. That would leave me with Studge, Suarez, and Rooney (Mata, Haz, Silva, Lallana).

    Thoughts?
