And breathe. Deadline day is over and, while Jim White may have found reason to sound excited about every done deal, we’ve sifted through the bones of the completed business to pick out some of the most significant to Fantasy managers.

Konstantinos Mitroglou – Olympiakos to Fulham
A true marquee signing for the Cottagers, Mitroglou is one of Europe’s in-form marksmen having struck 23 goals in 26 appearances so far this term for his national side and Olympiakos. While that record speaks for itself, the reported £12.5 million signing represents a roll of the dice from Rene Meulensteen, as Fulham scrap for survival. On a relatively uneventful deadline day, the Greek striker stands out as a possible emerging Fantasy prospect but, as always, the pricing is key to his appeal. We’d wager we’ll see Mitroglou come in around the 8.0 mark in the Fantasy Premier League (FPL) and, should he hit the ground running, we’re likely to take notice from Gameweek 30 onwards with Fulham welcoming Newcastle, Norwich, Hull and Palace to West London for their run-in. Look out for an in-depth Scout Report on Mitroglou early next week.

Lewis Holtby – Tottenham to Fulham
An intriguing move by Rene Meulensteen, who looks to have replaced the mercurial and unpredictable talents of Adel Taarabt with those of the versatile German. It’s fair to say that Holtby has struggled to impose himself at White Hart Lane having been denied a consistent run of starts and defined role. Although a move back to Germany was reportedly his first option, Holtby is now looking to make an impact at the Cottage. His agent has stated that his client will get to play in his “favourite position” which, given the player’s previous claims, suggests he’ll be deployed in central midfield or even in front of the back four alongside Scott Parker. Hardly an exciting Fantasy prospect, then, compounded by his 6.2 FPL price tag.

Wilfred Zaha – Man United to Cardiff
One of many transfer window moves from Ole Gunnar Solskjaer and, potentially, the most significant for Fantasy managers. Zaha has been frozen out at United but the move to South Wales is an opportunity for the former Palace starlet to revive his reputation. Zaha will even feel he can use it as a platform to make a late run-up for the plane to Brazil. That might be ambitious but Fantasy managers would do well to monitor this one – Zaha will be deployed on the flank but he’s a big direct threat to the opponents goal which could see him offer real value for his modest price tag (5.4 FPL, 4.9 in Sky Sports (SS) and 1.5 in Dream Team (DT)). Look out for our Moving Target analysis soon.

Fabio – Man United to Cardiff
Another shrewd looking move from Solskjaer and another raid on his former club. Fabio has rarely threatened to match his brother, Rafael’s, achievements at Old Trafford but the switch to Cardiff offers him a new chance to shine. The Bluebirds have themselves a left-back with strong attacking tendencies who could well combine well with Noone or Zaha. His 4.1 FPL price tag looks interesting given that we’ve seen Ben Turner and Mark Hudson alternate of late alongside Steven Caulker. Fabio would seem assured of his start and, if he can show attacking potential, could tempt investment given a fixture list that has Cardiff face Villa, Fulham and Hull in their next three home matches.

Kim Kallstrom – Spartak Moscow to Arsenal
Once a legend of Championship Manager, now a fully-fledged Premier League player. Arsene Wenger has been pushed into doing deadline day business by Aaron Ramsey’s recent setback and ongoing injury concerns surrounding Jack Wilshere’s ankle. Kallstrom arrives as a midfield reinforcement, then, providing cover on the left of centre or on the flank. The Swede has a left-foot hammer and goals in his locker, with a mean direct free-kick at his disposal. First and foremost, however, Kallstrom is a solid performer and an effective link man who rarely concedes possession: Wenger’s preferred flavour of player. It’s doubtful whether this can all translate to Kallstrom being an Fantasy asset – the price tag will dictate matters and, with Ramsey sidelined, we’ll likely need him to come in around the 7.0 mark for the Swede to rouse any real interest.

Tom Ince – Blackpool to Crystal Palace
The winger’s move to Selhurst Park will put Fantasy managers on alert with Ince a proven source of assists and goals at Championship level. Having missed out on a loan deal for Wilfred Zaha, the capture of his England U21 team-mate on loan could prove a major coup for Tony Pulis as he looks to strengthen his attacking options. With Jason Puncheon completing a permanent deal and Joe Ledley set to arrive from Celtic, Palace suddenly offer a trio of options from midfield who have the potential to provide goals and tempt Fantasy investment. Ince’s price will be of huge interest given the recent contribution from Puncheon – should he come in under 6.0 in the FPL, we could see plenty of investment in a player who scored 18 goals from 45 starts last season and 7 strikes from 22 outings this. Meanwhile, Palace also sealed the signing of Scott Dann from Blackburn for an undisclosed fee – a less positive move from a Fantasy perspective which is likely to create uncertainty within Pulis’ defence.

Mark Mark created the beast. He's now looking to tame it.

Did some research into Man. City's fixtures for the purpose of planning for the blank and the double GW and was surprised at how little City cover I think I may need so I thought I might garner some opinion.
Firstly I've covered from GW24 to GW32 as that is all relevant and it covers a period of 55 days where they play 13 matches: approx 4 games every 17 days. I wanted to know how many PL games the star players, for my team that is Yaya, would play in that timeframe. So in 9 PLgames how many starts can my 'starman' be sure of?

    Feb.03 Mon. GW24 vs Chelsea..def starter
    Feb.08 Sat. GW25 vs Norwich...5 day rest..starter
Feb.12 Wed. GW26 vs Sunderland..won't show hand before cup final and has 2 huge games up after...won't play 'starman'
Feb.15 Sat. FA Cup vs Chelsea....starts
    Feb.18 Tue. CL vs Barca...starts
Feb. 22 Sat. GW 27vs Stoke....surely not. Played 2 big games in 5 days and a cup final next week. That would require 'starman' playing his 4th game in 16 days in the final.
    Mar.02 Sun. Cup Final..no GW28.
Mar.08 Sat. GW29 vs Villa. This game won't be played if City advance in the FA Cup....prob starts.
    Mar.12 Wed. CL vs Barca...starts.
    Mar.15 Sat. GW 30 vs Hull....prob starts
Mar.22 Sat. GW31 vs Fulham & Mar.25 vs Man. Utd....as much as we all want a double killing I can't see 'starman' playing in both of this because he would have to play 4 games in 15 days cos...
Mar.29 Sat. GW32 vs Arsenal...starts. They could also have a CL game on Tuesday.
So, at guess, I would say the 'starman' won't start 4 of 9 games.

Tl:dr -I think there will be better ways of spending money between GW26 & 29 than on Man City.

Feb 08 | Gw25 vs Norwich (A) .. It's probably too early to rest some stars as they have rest well.
Feb 12 | Gw26 vs Sunderland (H) .. This one. I think we will see some serious rests.
Feb 15 | FA Cup vs Chelsea
Feb 18 | UCL vs Barca
Feb 22 | Gw27 vs Stoke (H) .. I agree that we should see some rests again.
      Mar 02 | CUP Final

Just for these games. I may avoid buying more City.

Prob a bit easier for me as I still have a wild card and, hopefully, can drop Yaya for a few weeks to avoid rotation problems and then wc City players back in later.Just wouldn't like having 1,2, or even 3 of their players for these games so I may just go without. Big risk though.

OK. In my case I have Yaya only,as Kun is out, so he will stay for 2gw more. Then I see little point in wrapping up 10mill for 4gw with a possibility of no start. A lot of money is released, in your case Silva, to surely make a lot more points with certain starters.

This is my concern too. I currently have no attacking City coverage (unless you count Kolarov) which feels very dangerous given their fixtures. However, with 4 huge games in the next month or so (not to mention several blanks) it's hard not to consider the fact that those PL fixtures look 'easy' as a rotation danger rather than a benefit to the big guns.

The main MCI player I could actually see this benefiting would probably be Dzeko who, at 6.9, can be afforded the odd rotation/bench (for the blanks) but has huge upside. I'm thinking of getting him in for Giroud next GW....

Agree with you. It could be one of the strikers outside of Kun that get the easier gw and could be a punt but they're not cheap and sure starters in other sides should give better returns over 4/5 gws.

Have rationalised owning will be enough because its so risky not (c) Suarez. If wba hadn't just shipped 4 to villa and Suarez hat trick earlier in season then maybe a different story. As much as I'd like to (c) rvp, don't think I can yet....

anyone: its not that much of a sexy option , but watever.

1--Kolarov CHE. seems he'll start even tho Home gw (where clichy used to start thenm)
    or
2--Mcnaughton cardiff at home against NOR...bet on CS. risk is John could start. and end up w/15 min 1pt

On WC have held back money to do Giroud to Rooney next week. Or would you just buy Rooney now?

2/3 games to settle in then maybe. Most of these players don't fire straight away

Change your team so you can fitter a better mid in? Not trying to be annoying but with upcoming blanks and doubles you need your reserves to be decent in my opinion

Personal preference really. Or the halfway house and Get Rooney if you want a Man U forward. Still have money to upgrade to say Puncheon with change
