With Chelsea’s win at the Etihad bringing Gameweek 24 to its conclusion, we delve into the data once again. Stoke’s midfield goal hero, West Ham’s target man, United’s fit-again frontmen and the knock-on effect Liverpool’s downturn in possession has had on a certain Uruguayan all come under our analysis this time around:
All set for this week? Right sub order?
Mannone
Baines / Cahill / Ward
Mata (C) ) Silva / Lallana / Hazard (VC)
Suarez / Benteke / JRod
Marshall / Kosc / Jedinak / Olsson

here's a thread for you to share your opinion on RVP as a standalone option. Please feel free to share your thoughts 😉

Open Controlsim sorry I started that......
The funny thing is you both made an asumption that it was either suarez or RVP...I have both 🙂Open ControlsYou wrote
"This isn't the same RVP from 1-2 seasons ago. You'd be lucky to get a run of injury free 4-5 games from him."
I responded to that. You're wrong, just stop lol..
let me add regarding the injury bit, that he went largely uninjured under Ferguson because he was allowed to train mostly in the pool and in the gym rather than doing full fieldwork.
Moyes didn't let him do this at first, hence the long layoff and has now reverted. RVP is here for the next 4 months.Open ControlsWow. Did you just come back from the future? It's the only way you could know RVP is going to be healthy for the next 4 months.
Open ControlsRVP (c) for the season!
Open ControlsLet's party like it's 2012!
Open Controls
I wish he could tell us who will win the title. I might load up on that team.
Open Controlsany player can get injuried...as simple as that...if purely becos tt guy is injury-prone then we use it as a reason not to buy him then i will find it silly.
Open Controls
its not that tough to have both right? most ppl used to haf both kun and suarez..and kun is the most 1.7m more than him? assume u buy at the cheapest price of 11.9...downgrade 1 defender lyk coleman and u have the cash available
Open ControlsI think the people that REALLY want RVP want to have him in addition to Aguero and Suarez
Open Controlsmaybe...wait until kun is back then i make a decision of whether to get him ornt..i can get him in by selling baines and upgrade sturridge but leave me with a defense of fablo ward demel ollson vlaar which i m not that comfortable with.
but by the time kun is back more or less u will noe whether u shld take the gamble on RVP or not...if these few weeks RVP does not strike form i cannot find much reason to keep him when kun is backOpen Controls
Who would you play out of:
Coleman (tot)
Kos (liv)
Chambers (STO but carrying a knock and so big rotation risk with Clyne being fit)
Have Szcz in goal
Really want to save doing a transfer so I have 2 next week - or scrap these lot and do Kos to Azpi?Open ControlsChambers, if he doesn't play he won't be a sub ... then Coleman, then Koscielny
Open ControlsIntresting point.....got burnt last week when he came of a couple of minutes before he would have been credited with a CS, it hurt.
Open Controls
Coleman, NCNB.
Open ControlsNot sure. Kos to Azpi might just be the wise move.
Open Controls
BOOM! I found it... this is for Eden of the East...

Open Controlslooks even a steal at 13.7
Open ControlsCheers Zep. Went to a lot of trouble to find this I imagine? Sorry.

AJ these past three weeks has been a massive success. Are people at least considering keeping after this week? Sure fixtures suck, but...I planning to save my FT this week to have two going into next week to get rid.
Open ControlsThey don't just suck, they're about as bad as 4 weeks can possibly be.
Open ControlsYeah I guess when you put it like that. MCI might be an okay game to keep. They're not especially great defensively. Plus, last weeks goal from AJ was him just being in the right place at the right time and Santon being a douche. When you're on great form like Johnson is, things seem to fall into place.

I had collback on the bench last week
Hate this game sometimes.Open ControlsShould I do mert > Cahill/Ivan/Azpi or Sturridge > RVP (c)
Any advice? 😀Open Controlsrvp(c) shld earn u more points for this gw..though its abit short term

Huw Jenkins seems a preety smart bloke - judging from the carefull wording of his statement I assume he shot BL due to the speculation over him being approcahed by other clubs?
Ballsy move.
Any swans on here, can you shed any light?Open ControlsI'm no Swan but this seems all about Laudrup (and his utter moron agent) continuing their tradition of leaving a stink wherever they go.
In this case I'd trust Jenkins 8 days of the week.
I assume they wanna tie ML down to an agreement for next season (also regarding buy-out clause, : / payoff etc). The recent stories about coaching staff being 'forced' upon ML seem clumsy but are probably borne of the fact they felt he would do one in the summer and / or was demanding 2 Bony's from the transfer budget.Open Controls
I did Sagna to Azpi for free today. Still have a crook bench so hope it was the right move.
Open ControlsIt's a very good move. I assume you already have Kos anyways?
Open ControlsWho is the crock? I did Chrster > Azpil
Open Controls
here is my backline
Mannone
Ward, Bardsley, Kolarov, Coleman,
Sub: Boruc, Koscielny
Should I transfer one of my defend this week to either Terry/Cahil/ Azpi ?Open ControlsNo but I'd spread the risk and play Boruc over Mannone as you have Bardsley.
Open ControlsSwap with Bardsley next week
Open ControlsKoscielny out. Azpilicueta or Ivanovic in.
Open ControlsPersonally Id play Boruc over Mannone, admitedly im biased, but I think doubling up on Sunderland is risky. could do Kos to Terry if you can afford as Che fixtures are better than Arse over the next 3-4 weeks. If you do this obviously play Terry over coleman.
Open Controls
Morning DZers. 🙂
Open ControlsWhich TWO of these players would you get in as a part of a hit this week?
- Zabaleta
- Azpilicueta (I own Cahill already)
- Yaya Toure
- Lallana
- Dzeko
- Rodriguez
I'll be selling two of Evans, Willian or Bony.Open ControlsToure and Lallana..... like their fixtures.
Open ControlsSelling two of Evans, Willian, and Bony.
Open Controls
Lallana and Azpilicueta.
Open ControlsDead set on the hit? I'd wait for news on Evans. Lallana is the one I'd want most out of them.
Open ControlsExcellent. A lot of Lallana then.
I'll wait for some news on Evans of course lads. A little fidgety without any City.Open ControlsGreat fixtures yeah but who to get? I'm on Dzeko at the mo but it's an abusive relationship at best haha
Open ControlsHahaha. I think it's best described that way.
But short term punts on Dzeko generally work out I've noticed. It might be the time, Next 3 games, unfit Negredo. Jovetic still in the shadows.
Grab the points and leave maybe.Open ControlsHe's a placeholder for Aguero at the moment.
Open Controls
Keep Willian and Bony this week and just get rid of Evans.
Open ControlsMy conservative brain is leaning towards that.
Bony to stutter further in Laudrups absence?Open ControlsI also own Bony and am very tempted to move him on for dzeko or Rodriguez. But I feel as though I must give him a chance to get returns at home to Cardiff.
Open Controls
Dzeko (C) Thoughts? Am I mad? (Obvious not as mad as Zep, but still)
Open ControlsThat could come off pretty well. I have a bit of worry over his game time, however, especially considering that he fluffed a sitter against Chelsea near the end of the game. If I were the gaffer, he'd be on the pine for the Norwich match. That was a huge miss, and truth be told, a striker at this level should do much better.
Open ControlsCome to think of it, he was pretty pathetic the whole game. I at least don't remember him doing much of anything at all.
Open ControlsYeah Pathetic is what I heard alright but it's Norwich up next not Chelsea.
Open ControlsTrue dat. Just wondering if he'll start or not.
Open ControlsI'm always worried about that. Hoping if he is benched though that he stays there and my VC will kick in. I have a pretty good bench to back it up. Think he'll get another shot though
Open Controls
Ah good sir... I admit I am a little mental for even considering it, but I'll wager you a(n imaginary) beer that Mannone outscores Dzeko? 😉
Open ControlsHow sure are you that he will start? Jovetic will surely start, but for who is the question.
Open Controls
With no options really standing out, a fit on form RVP(c) at home to bottom of the table FUL screams potential, and a possible route to chase down the casuals.
For me, it's between these 2 moves - (A) seems solid, but the RVP(c) factor has me edging closer to (B)...whatcha think?
(A) GW25: Ozil -> Lallana
GW26: Bony -> Sturridge/Negredo/Dzeko
(B) GW25: Ozil & Benteke -> Sterling & RVP(c) [4 points]
GW26: Bony -> Dzeko/JRod
Szczesny, Davis
Terry, Kolarov, B Davies, Clyne, Whittaker
Hazard, Silva, Ozil, Mirallas, Puncheon
Suarez, Benteke, Bony

Open Controls

Suarez / Ade / Sturridge
1FT; 0.8 ITB
Got a must win H2H this weekend. Thinking Nasty - Azpill or Coleman to Ivanovic??
Know I need to trade out Junuzaj soonish but thought that could wait. My opponent has double Chelsea defensive cover, hence my thoughts on transfer options.
Any advice appreciated! Please suggest any other options too if you disagree with mine.
Cheers in advance:)Open ControlsAfternoon BL
Open Controls
Only 22% say captain Suarez. This week would be the ideal time for another hat trick.
Open ControlsMorning DZ'ers. Can I please get some advice?
Mannone (HUL)
Azpili(NEW) Clyne(STO) Ward(WBA)
Silva(nor) Mata(FUL) Hazard(NEW) Puncheon(WBA)
S&S(ARS) JRod(STO)
Subs:Marshall,Januzaj,Kosc,Chambers
FT already used,0.6 in bank
Plan is to get Zaha/Noone for Januzaj next gw!Open ControlsBest midfielder for 5,1 or less?
sofar im thinking
Barkley
puncheon
Bacuna
Any other decent choices?Open ControlsLooking for a FFS sanity check:
Mannone, Marshall
Koscielny, Kolarov, Clyne, Ward, Chester
Eriksen, Hazard, Silva, Lallana, Mutch
Suarez, Adebayor, Sturridge
+ 3.0 in the bank.
I think it's time to address the defense and bring in Azpi... does that sound like a reasonable plan? And who would you drop to make room?Open ControlsCaptain Poll..
Hazard or Mata...
start voting all ya geezers.Open ControlsMataaaaaa
Open Controls😉
Open Controls
The Duke of Hazard.
Open ControlsHaz, better player, better team, better form! Fixture about just as good, Newcastle just lost 3-0 at home to Sunderland.
Open ControlsHazard
Open Controlsbetween only them I'd choose Haz. But I feel like Suarez will be very motivated v. ARS
Open ControlsEDEN!
Open ControlsHaz definitely
Open Controls
Is Fonte worth the premium over Shaw, Clyne or Yoshida?
Open ControlsNot sure If I need to make a transfer this week or save 2 for teh blanks??
Mannone/McGregor
Kos/Kolorov/Cahill/Bennett/Mariappa
Hazard/Mata/Silva/A.J/Noone
Suerez/Sturridhe/Ade
0.1 bankOpen ControlsAnyone watch any Everton games recently?
If so, is Baines still getting in there? crosses? etc?Open ControlsI can't provide you with any stats but there were considerably fewer crosses and forward runs from Baines. And it makes sense to since there isn't really a proper target man to aim at. What I hate is that Mirallas hogging the corners and free kicks.
Open Controls
Guys, need some help here, what should be my priority?
A defence - ship bruce or merte for cahill/fonte
B mids - try to get lallana and yaya (for caz and zaha?)
C forwards - sell bony (jrod?)
mannone (marshall)
ward azpi coleman (merte bruce)
punch hazard mata cazorla (zaha)
bony studge suarez
2.7, 1FT.Open ControlsGet Bony out of there ASAP.
Open ControlsYour defence is fine. Caz has hard fixtures but he's in good form so if you want to keep him that's up to you. Bony has a nice fixture so I'd be tempted to keep him for this week, maybe get Lallana in for Zaha/Puncheon.
Open Controls
Morning DZ,
I'd like some thoughts about my bench problems this week. All common ones, I'd imagine:-
Boruc v Mannone - play Boruc. Simple reason is that Soton have a much better defence so more CS potential. The risk remains that, if Sunderland keep CS, Mannone will get more points.
Bench Sterling - a 2pt machine. Tough fixture.
Bench Coleman - heresy maybe but it's a tough fixture and I've better options. Sorry Seamus.
Play Puncheon - obviously
Play Yoshida - CS and some bp potential.
Which leaves Kolarov v Bardsley. Decent CS potential and reasonable threat from Bardsley v greater threat for Kolarov but risk of 1pt. Here, I think Kolarov has more upside so Bardsley takes bench slot No.1.
Am I thinking straight or missing something? Tx.Open ControlsPlay Kolarov and Bardsley, bench Yoshida since your playing Boruc too.
Open ControlsI am currently playing Mannone over Boruc. While the Saints defense may be better than Sunderlands, I think Stoke carry a greater offensive threat than Hull away. Could easily be clean sheets for both really.

Are we a little too quick to pass damning judgement on Bony? Sure, he looked poor against West Ham but the Hammers are no mugs defensively. It's not too surprising that he blanked. He has reasonable fixtures and has scored about the same if not more as second tier strikers-Lambert, Benteke, Adebayor etc...
Open ControlsIf I had him I'd definitely keep this week. Cardiff's defensive stats are amongst the worst in the league.
Open ControlsHe also blanked against Fulham at home.
Fulham at home.
Fulham.Open ControlsYeah, that's true but then he notched a couple against City. I'm not his agent or anything, just sayin'!
Open Controls
Am I the only one here not ready to trust Mou's commitment to Azpi or Cahill? I feel like Ivan, Terry, Ramirez, Haz & Cech are the only nailed players.
Open ControlsToo much rotation at the back isn't the best idea. I think Mou realized that after trying it earlier in the season.
Open ControlsSo you think they're nailed? And what about Cole?
Open ControlsI guess it is tough to say in the long run as to who will exactly start which game. Mourinho just doesn't seem to like Cole too much at the moment. At least not his first choice. Terry is definitely the only real nailed on guy at the back, game in and game out.
Open Controls
People love to convince themselves that the cheapest defender in a side is nailed on because it helps their budget, or it's the only one they can afford. Happens a huge amount here and then you get all the Saturday crying when the player is benched.
