That could come off pretty well. I have a bit of worry over his game time, however, especially considering that he fluffed a sitter against Chelsea near the end of the game. If I were the gaffer, he'd be on the pine for the Norwich match. That was a huge miss, and truth be told, a striker at this level should do much better.

I can't provide you with any stats but there were considerably fewer crosses and forward runs from Baines. And it makes sense to since there isn't really a proper target man to aim at. What I hate is that Mirallas hogging the corners and free kicks.

I'd like some thoughts about my bench problems this week. All common ones, I'd imagine:-
Boruc v Mannone - play Boruc. Simple reason is that Soton have a much better defence so more CS potential. The risk remains that, if Sunderland keep CS, Mannone will get more points.
Bench Sterling - a 2pt machine. Tough fixture.
Bench Coleman - heresy maybe but it's a tough fixture and I've better options. Sorry Seamus.
Play Puncheon - obviously
Play Yoshida - CS and some bp potential.
Which leaves Kolarov v Bardsley. Decent CS potential and reasonable threat from Bardsley v greater threat for Kolarov but risk of 1pt. Here, I think Kolarov has more upside so Bardsley takes bench slot No.1.

Are we a little too quick to pass damning judgement on Bony? Sure, he looked poor against West Ham but the Hammers are no mugs defensively. It's not too surprising that he blanked. He has reasonable fixtures and has scored about the same if not more as second tier strikers-Lambert, Benteke, Adebayor etc...
