After City were soundly beaten by Barcelona last night, it’s Arsenal’s turn to take to the field as the Gunners welcome Champions League holders Bayern Munich to the Emirates. Ahead of this evening’s north London encounter, Paddy Power has come up with something a little different for those yet to register an account.

Our bookmaker friends are tempting us with an huge offer of either 10/1 for the Gunners to defeat Pep Guardiola’s side or 4/1 for the Bundesliga leaders to emerge triumphant.

If you’ve already got an account with Paddy, you can still benefit from a Money Back Special on offer at the Emirates tonight. Paddy are offering refunds on all losing First Goalscorer, Last Goalscorer, Correct Score and Scorecast bets should Arjen Robben score first.

To clarify, the Arsenal and Bayern specials are limited to a £10 stake, are open to new Paddy Power customers only and subject to the terms and conditins specified. New customers can only opt for one of the two offers.

Finally, of course, we should state that all these offers are only available to those aged 18 and over and are subject to Paddy Power’s terms and conditions. Also, if you’re going to bet, always gamble responsibly.

Bayern to win comfortably I think..

Although Arsenal home record recently is fantastic, something like 1 goal conceded in last 8....

10/1 could be a real bargain, shame it's capped at 10£

They are one hell of a team at the moment Truck... Such depth in midfield (ARS strength)... With defence and attack to match..

Think they will win by 2 goals

Would have probably put £100 on Bayern at 4/1.

Will settle for an Asian handicap with Bayern -1.

not saying it's not good, just that people get so overeager to put things on a pedestal alongside other things far too prematurely, then always complain when everything dips down the line

So we are more than half way through... Easily enough time to judge great work...

It isn't fair to compare it to breaking bad as it isn't a long series but it is a fantastic show, give it a go, then judge

Many a series have started out with high quality and then hit a sharp dip, particularly around season 2 & 3. Dexter, The Killing and Homeland being prime examples.

I'm enjoying TD but to put it up there with BB, The Wire, Sopranos etc already is a bit silly.

You have to be the first person I have ever read that thought Season 2 was anything but dreadful. It started out so dwell, and about 5 episodes in totally lost it's direction. Too many characters and storylines so that none of them were ever able to be flushed out properly. Season 3 was excellent up until the last episode

That's interesting. Two of my friends and my Dad also thought Season 2 was the best and season 3 isn't as good as the first 2. I think the same about Season 3 as you do about 2! Just goes to show how people's opinions can be so different on TV series.

Dexter was surely the worst disappointment of the lot. There was a time when I used to swear by the show. I thought series five was utterly dismal, but the ones that ensued were in a league of their own in awfulness. What a shame.

I assume you mean the US version of The Killing? You'd do well to get your mitts on the Danish original, it's pure quality from start to finish, and what a finish it is. Homeland was just shmaltz, sadly.

I thought about it. Have Sterling too, he's gonna be my Liverpool casualty coming up.

For me it comes down to selling one of Suarez/Sturridge for an up to 8 striker and being able to upgrade a cheapie DF to a nailed City defender for GW30 on. But I looked at City's potential DGWs scenarios and they don't seem all that great for defensive points really. Cleanie and 2pt'ers.

Think I'd rather have the potential explosive point hauls from SAS. Still deciding.

Just heard Martin Keown on TalkSport - good speaker, seems like a really nice guy. Knows his football, would be a much better analyst that much of the dross out there.

Keown isn't bad, one of the better ones on the Beeb. I quite liked Dixon but was sad to see him head to ITV with the likes of Roy "RentaQuote" Keane and Ian Wright and that creepy presenter.

None of them are nearly as bad as Shearer and Redknapp though - boring simpletons.

    2 thoughts on last night

    1) Demichelis has proven, once again, that he is a total liability. Serious not sure why he starts.

    2) At least this probably means City are out of the CL, which should lower the risk of rest/rotation for key DGW targets like Kun, Yaya, Silva, Zaba etc.

Demichelis was okay up until the red card. But yeah he's looking well past his sell-by date at this stage. However, when the alternative is Lescott you can see why Pellegrini would opt for the former, it's a close call.

Aguero won't play in full v Wigan, and I reckon Jovetic may get the cup games

Should be yes. Looks like Ward, Delaney, Dann + 1 for Palace

Ledley played there, but I'm not sure that'll last

Probably Puncheon due to the fact that he could end up with a DGW in that time.

What do you mean? Obv Ivan was cheaper previously and so better value than now, but he's still cheaper than Terry and has better season stats than every other Chelsea defender (More attempts on goal, more crosses, more touches in opponents half, more touches in opponents box etc.)

I meant when you got him in 3 GWs ago it made even more sense because he was cheaper than the rest. I'd also argue that despite having the stats, Terry carries more of a goal threat (perhaps because he is more efficient rather than actually having more goal attempts) and, more importantly, has the extra appeal of bonus which full-backs (Ivanovic) don't seem to have without popping up with a goal/assist.

For those holding West Ham assets,

'Sam Allardyce is set to name unchanged team for the visit of Southampton. A training ground source made it clear that Allardyce rarely changes the team until it is beaten and that Reid looks certain to make his usual appearance after about 70 minutes.

He told us exclusively: "He's very unlikely to change a winning team and that's probably exactly as it should be. There may of course be an exception in the case of Carroll when he returns!' '
