It’s time to assess the progress of our Fantasy Football Scout leagues across a variety of games this evening. With leagues in the Fantasy Premier League (FPL), Sky Sports, Sun Dream Team and Champions League games, we have plenty to analyse:

Fantasy Premier League

Michael Atkins is not only the new Scout league leader, he has moved to number one in the overall rankings after a 74-point haul in Gameweek 26 took his tally to 1,795 points. Whilst many were affected by the postponement of Everton’s clash with Palace and City’s home showdown against Sunderland, Michael was able to field a full XI – up front, Liverpool pair Luis Suarez and Daniel Sturridge were joined by Tottenham’s in-form Emmanuel Adebayor, whilst the likes of Cardiff stopper David Marshall, Per Mertesacker, Nathan Baker and Adam Lallana all produced for Michael’s side, “No_Way_Jose”.

Luke Weston drops to second in the Scout League and second overall after a 46-point haul last time around. Reduced to 10 starters in Gameweek 26, he also had Liverpool’s “SAS” leading the line, while Artur Boruc and Ron Vlaar both produced bonus points and clean sheets – Luke moves to 1,786 points overall and has now been inside the top 10 since Gameweek 13.

In third spot is Luke van Lelyveld, who is also first in the FFS Members league. He racked up an impressive 68 points in Gameweek 26 despite being reduced to nine players – Suarez, Sturridge and Adebayor lead the line, whilst the likes of Lallana, Mertesacker, Vlaar and Luke Shaw were all key for Luke, who is now in fourth spot in the overall rankings on 1,764 points.

Christov Davies takes fourth position in the Scout League. A score of 76 points was higher than any of our top five in the previous Gameweek – he managed to field XI players, with Suarez, Sturridge and Lallana joined by a triple up on Arsenal’s defence (Mertesacker, Wojciech Szczesny and Bacary Sagna), whilst Branislav Ivanovic and Jose Fonte both delivered double figure hauls from the back. Up to seventh overall, Cristov sits on 1,758 points.

Our top five is completed by Sam Coles, who slips down despite scoring 70 points in Gameweek 26. Another one to opt for Suarez and Sturridge, he also has Lallana, Ivanovic, Marshall and Laurent Koscielny to thank for his lofty position – Sam sits in eighth spot overall on 1,754 points.

Intriguingly, for all the talk of template squads, our featured quintet have just three players in common with 12 Gameweeks remaining – Suarez, Sturridge and Eden Hazard. Thanks to the extraordinary endeavours of our top five, Fantasy Football Scout remain top of the League of Leagues. To join up, the league code is 1580-1106

In the Fantasy Football Scout Members League, Luke Van Lelyveld has a 31-point advantage over second-placed Jono McPhillips, with Joe Wilkinson a further 11 points behind Jono on 1,722 points overall.

Sky Sports Fantasy Football

Dammy Olubokun continues to lead the way. Both his teams share first spot on 1,846 points – he has a healthy lead on his nearest challenger, Garry Wheeler, who is further back on 1,790 points. Dammy’s teams are placed in second spot overall, just eight points off the summit, whilst Garry joins him in the top 10 in seventh spot. The winner of our Sky league, which is also top in the league of leagues, wins £1,000.

The Sun Dream Team

Geoff Pryor leads the way on 1,500 points, with his tactic of doubling up on both Chelsea’s defence and midfield helping him to 19th spot overall. Geoff has a 39-point lead over Charles Mouzon, who sits second in the Scout League – the pair are far ahead of the chasing pack, where third-placed Dan Ward is a further 99 points behind Charles on 1,362 points. The winner of our Sun league also picks up £1,000.

Champions League

With just a couple of games played in the Last 16 knockout stages last night, Diegocho33 remains at the top of the Scout League on 515 points and, after racking up 28 points on Tuesday evening, he moved to number one in the overall rankings. Pavel123 is second in the Scout League (and 13th overall) on 497 points, whilst Tankax is nine points further behind in third. To join, visit the UEFA website – league name: FFScout, code: 1209685-489925

Fantasy Football Scout Cup

The Fantasy Football Scout Cup VIII, as sponsored by Paddy Power, was won by Tdubb05 last month, who defeated Ajax in the final. Entry for the Scout Cup IX and Members Cup IV is already underway – the qualifying round is Gameweek 27 and further information on how to take part can be found here.

Ultimate Fantasy Premier League

As most of you will know by now, the FPL also released a Beta version of their new game in preparation for next season. There’s been plenty of talk surrounding the game on the boards and we plan to look at it in detail in an upcoming article – for now, we’ve set up a league for those who are planning to get involved – the code is: 1305-459

Two questions, who would you pick for the following fixtures?

1 - a) Adam (ARS, nor), b) Nolan (eve, HUL) or c) Snodgrass (avl, STO)

    2 - a) Rooney (wba), b) Lambert (cpl), c) Carroll (HUL)

      Depeds on your rank,.IMHO

      1 c

2 .......................iIf you're looking to make up some ground then Carrol (C) would be a ballsy move and the mother of all differentials

(Though there is a perfectly good reason they are called differentials)

B'ah, was tracking MOlsson last night as I wanted to make sure Ade got through tonight without injury. Last time I checked at midnight he'd only gone up 0.3% and had 0.5% to go before a rise. Wake up this morning and he's 4.3%. I needed that 0.1mil to carry out an ingenious blank/DGW plan over the coming weeks (yes, I know there'll be loads of injuries and my plan will probably go out the window anyway, but it's seriously annoying!)

I know, but means I didn't have to mess around waiting on MOlsson - could have swapped him in last night and not worried about it. Shouldn't hurt me for a few weeks, but I'd like Yaya for the doubles as he's rotation-proof. Only problem is he's costs so much. I suppose there's a decent chance of him dropping over the coming weeks.

Goal.com "poll of the day" - Should Arsenal drop Ozil? Yes: 50.3% No: 44.1% No idea: 5.6%
      😆
First people massively over hype him, and when out of form for a moment: bash him.
Did he ever play 3/4/5 consecutive games @ Madrid? The lad needs a rest.

      12 Apr 15:00 Gameweek 34 West Ham (H)
      19 Apr 15:00 Gameweek 35 Hull City (A)
      26 Apr 15:00 Gameweek 36 Newcastle (H)
      03 May 15:00 Gameweek 37 West Brom (H)
      11 May 15:00 Gameweek 38 Norwich (A)

They're not getting paid rockstar wages to play two games of football every week for a 9 month season. They're out running the roads running or in the gym training hard at all hours for no thanks. If you get out of the bed half tired in the morning you wouldn't turn up at work with a gob on you. Your colleagues would soon enough tell you to cop yourself on. He's acting like a primadonna.

So have a lot of players. Why should a so-called elite athlete deserve a rest ? He needs to cop himself on and realise he's getting paid more money than God to play the game he loves. That's assuming that he still loves playing football.

Yeah of course, but there is a difference between practice and top level competition.

Are some footballers prima donnas? Yes. But I do think there are limits to what the human body can do and fatigue is a real thing. I'm talking about physical condition rather than attitude.

That's down to the physios and Wenger deciding if he's fit enough to play but maybe he is unfit at this time to play PL football. Send him in to Jerry Flanders and he'll sort out his atitude 🙂

I still think his output would be better if Arsenal had a better quality striker than Giroud and/or Sanogo. The loss of both Walcott and Ramsey has been detrimental to Arsenal's and Ozil's form arguably. There's too much expectation on his shoulders and far be it for me to slag off one of the world's great play makers..

863 passes, 78% possession and 95% passing accuracy.

This highlights the benefit and importance of having THREE strong comfortable midfielders to BUILD the play.

Javi Martinez, Kroos, Thiago so comfortable on the ball, with Lahm also playing there... its such an important part of the game.

Manchester United will continue to struggle until they improve drastically in this area,
Chelsea now have this setup and its why I think that despite MCI beautiful attacking football, CHE will edge the league this year.

433 with one of the mid 3 being more attacking... (not dissimilar to a 4231...)

Despite Chelsea having some great midfielders, Willian is improving no end, Oscar is quality, they still depend too much on Hazard because they've no quality striker. If Aguero returns in the next week or two and stays fit until the end of the season City will win the league.

Its definitely a two horse race now I think... just think Chelsea have so much depth now with Matic coming in to add some midfield muscle.... plus they have a manager who instills an inherent winning mentality...

City need to improve their defence (another world class CB maybe/ Clone Kompany..) and they would be unstoppable...

Not if they score buckets of goals when Aguero's back. Chelsea need a quality striker more than City need to improve their defence, which is capable of the occasional decent game.

Agree, that's why we struggled so much without Fernandinho. We didn't have anyone who could do that same job.

I think Bayern defeat is good news for Arsenal in some way. They were never good enough to win CL anyway now they can focus on the epl and fa cup which they can win. Arsenal is not like last season they are much better. They were matching Bayern and even better until the red card. They have Ramsey coming back which is good. Chelsea will be occupied by CL which could affect them in their title challenge. If Arsenal can react to the defeat like last year, they can will 1 or 2 important titles.

Koscielny is a great pick, he is great value and gets consistent CSs. Azpilicueta is great value too. Two best value defenders in the game IMO. Rotation between Olsson and Ward (and Chester soo n) works well and there is usually a CS there.

      Morning,
From reading walesonline's reports on Cardiff, it looks like Mutch is still very much first team, with Noone perhaps less so, competing with Kim and Bellamy once his ban's finished.
      Does that sound about right?

I know Zaha would be the pick of choice now but I think a fair proportion on here have either Noone or Mutch already.

What constitutes a sideways move and are they a waste of a transfer by definition?
This week I am looking at eriksen > paulinho which on some levels could be considered sideways, same team, same position, similar price but eriksen is showing sell signs (dropped for a start and form down anyway) whereas paulinho is looking good form, nailed on and has fixtures 28/29 even if one of them is Chelsea away. So should I ignore that they are from the same team and it feels sideways and make the move?
