We bring you the draws for the First Round of the Fantasy Football Scout Cup IX and FFS Members Cup IV, as sponsored by Paddy Power, after the qualifying rounds for both competitions took place over Gameweek 27:

First of all, entrants with a score of 56 points or more have earned a spot in the First Round of the Fantasy Football Scout Cup IX. If you scored 55 points, it was then down to overall rank to decide whether you progressed.

Our defending champion, Tdubb05, gets his title defence underway against stocherilac this weekend. Looking at some of the other previous winners, Jonty plays djt, MCH is up against Jambo 17, Donnellyc has cflanesra, Wild Rover goes head-to-head with Chobber Slops FC, whilst Gooner Dave has been drawn against JW.

Some of the plum ties amongst the community include Chu Young Ping Pong v Acquafresca, Bubbles against Yes the Sess! and Accounting on Chris v Attila the Bum.

Four of the current top 100 Fantasy Premier League (FPL) managers are in the hat for this weekend’s matches. Gambiteer, Justoutsidethemoney and Forbes are amongst those high-fliers as is world number two Tom Fenley, whose opponent, Alistair, currently sits around the 23,000-mark.

If you’ve qualified or just fancy a nosey, click here to view the full First Round Draw.

Entrants with a score of 58 points or more will have made their way into the First Round of the Fantasy Football Scout Members Cup IV. If you scored 57 points, it was then down to overall rank to decide whether you progressed.

Defending champion Acquafresca is up against Caladan Brood, whilst another former winner, Fuzzy Dunlop, goes head-to-head with The EJJ in Gameweek 28.

Amongst the notable community match ups, contributors Big Dunc and In Tommy We Trust face up to EpicFail and Chu Young Ping Pong respectively, whilst Dino’s clash with Bootsy and Thomass67 against Absinthe also catch the eye.

Once again, Tom Fenley is the manager to avoid in this cup. This time, he’s up against tmidrew who, with a rank inside the top 4,000, will fancy his chances of causing an upset. You can click here to view the First Round Draw.

For a list of the prizes and dates of each round, check out this initial article. As always, good luck to all those involved.

    Hey lads,
    Need your opinion on this.

For all my transfer plans leading upto GW 31 i need to take 1 hit...Which is also a sideways move; Baines to Coleman or Jags(to free up funds;need Everton for their plum fixtures and DGWs).

So which week from now till GW 31 would be the best time to take the hit?

Considering shipping for Yaya, United are utter crap ATM.

Things can change significantly in 3 game weeks but atm I'm thinking of shifting him for AJ or Nolan in order to raise funds for Aguero.

The fixtures after the DGW are amazing, so I'm finding it hard to lose him for the DGW, but I need to lose someone to get Aguero...

And thats the crux of the matter. We need to sell an expensive player to afford Aguero but ideally we don't want to sell someone with a DGW regardless of form.

Two free transfers... need to get rid of Silva and Gnabry in order to field 11 this week. The players that i bring in must have fixtures in gw29.
I'm really at a loss. I have Mata, Hazard and Snodgrass. Not feeling inspired by anyone.
    Paulinho?
    Oscar (if fit)?
    Willian?
    Noone?
    Ince?
    Meh.
Lallana? I already have JRod and am not keen on doubling up.

In terms of GW29 you'll have to be doubling up on teams because there aren't enough teams playing, so I think Lallana is 100% the best move.

Before the season, there were posts along the lines of "what is your biggest character flaw when it comes to FPL?" I answered stubbornness, without hesitation. But apparently, awareness of one's flaws by no means counteracts them.
I decided 6-7 weeks ago that I didn't want to double up with Suarez & Sturridge. I've had ample opportunity to reconsider. But can't bring myself to admit that it was a colossal failure. Maybe after gw29...

Getting rid of Yaya and really can't make up my mind between Snodgrass & Ince and it's only for 2 gameweeks.

Norwich are utter muck away from home. They've only scored 2 or more goals on three occasions this season (one of those was the opening day) and not managed it once this year. 2 wins and 2 draws in their last 6 is okay form including a draw against City. Their 2 games are Villa & Stoke which they won and lost 1-0 earlier this season respectively. Never know what you'll get from Norwich one week they lose to Cardiff, the next they beat Spurs. Snodgrass has set pieces, quality player but prone to injury.

Palace are also ridiculously low scorers, also weak away from home. 3 wins in their last 6 is decent. Thier two games are Swansea and Southampton, both of which they lost 2-0 earlier this season. They seem to get their results against the weaker teams. Ince is also quality and doesn't seem to have any fear of EPL football.

What are the maximum hits you would take for a DGW player?

I'm looking at these potential transfers:

    Ade > Aguero
    Lallana > Gerrard
    Mata > Yaya
    Kos > Kolarov/ WHU defender

Would be for (-8), giving me 8 DGWers.

-20 to give me 10. For me GW31 is close enough to the end just to have a gamble on DGWers and the more I have the more chance to cover or exceed the penalties against.
If I take -8 for 7 I could miss the three monster scores that would have compensated for all the hits.
Besides, it's a bit Who Dares Wins by then Rodney. 😉

Unfortunately doesn't work like that 🙂

Automatically deducts (-4) from total score.

Players aren't guaranteed any points until they play...

Help. Do you think this transfer plan is good or bad?

    GW28 Kolarov -> Olsson

    Gw29 Kos -> Chambers

GW30 Ade -> Kun (if fit)

    Would leave me with this:

    Mannone Adrian
    Ivan Vlaar Ward Olsson Chambers
    Mata Hazard Lallana Mirallas Noone
    Ade SaS

If i do it, i can gt Kun without taking a hit, but the Defence would not instill great confidence!

    Any thoughts?

The FA Cup semi finals are held on the 12th and 13th of April (GW 34) Given that City, Arsenal and Everton are in the fold could that have implications for a blank City gameweek weeks after people load up for their GW31 double? City also happen to play Liverpool in gw 34

Can anyone remember if the EPL matches slot into midweek after the semis?

Right then, which would you rather?

    (A)
    7 starters in GW29
WC for GW31 to give 10-11 DGWers

    (B)
    5 starters in GW29
4 point hit to get 10 DGWers in GW31
    Save WC for future DGWers

If you only have 7 for gw29, then who are your other 8? Surely they have DGWs coming up anyway?

I'd definitely use the wildcard for gw31 anyway. In your position I would use free transfers to maximise my gw29 potential, and then wildcard

        Current squad is:

        Szczesny, Davis
Terry, Kolarov, Demel, B Davies, Whittaker
        Hazard, Silva, Mirallas, Lallana, Puncheon
        Suarez, Sturridge, Benteke

The benefit you have with your wildcard is you can sell a big hitter for the blank and then get him back on your wildcard for his double. Sure you might lose some cash on it, but this is the business end of the season where points hits are more important than cash.

So, in your position I would use the 3 freebies (1 this week and 2 next) to absolutely maximise my gw29 squad. Get as much juice in there as you can, and then wildcard after.

Obviously the big problem is there aren't many big guns playing in gw29 though!

Yeah, that's the problem. I'd definitely be doing this if there were decent options in GW29 - I'm just not convinced there are.

If a lot of teams (especially ARS and EVE) don't have their DGWs in GW31 I think being 2 players lighter (likely to be Snoddy and Lambert) for GW29 is a small price to pay for another WC down the road where I could max out DGW players.

yeah but remember with a wildcard your bench for gw31 could be szcesney, mirallas, coleman, kosc or something like that, with 11 DGWers on the pitch

this means you'd be set up for the future too.

True, but id struggle to afford having a bench with the likes of the players you mention and also have the star DGWers to start GW31.

So given I already have 5 DGWers for GW31 and 5 freebies before then, I can get 10 without a hit for GW31, which makes me think I could be worth saving the WC. Downside is only 5 players for GW29 (but then again, are there that many decent options?) but upside is a WC to max out on DGWers for the later GWs.

I think a lot will depend on whether or not ARS and EVE have their DGW in GW31.

This is true, but it is unlikely there'll ever be a better time to use a wildcard.

If I was wildcarding for gw31 I would max out on liverpool, everton and city for sure.

if everton don't get a double in gw31, use them as your bench that week and put out 11 DGWers, because they will have 2 games in hand - both are great fixtures too

Nice idea but will be tricky to fund that I reckon.

Without wildcarding I could have the below GW31 team:

            ADRIAN/MANNONE
            KOLAROV, DEMEL, CHESTER
            SILVA, GERRARD, NOLAN, Mirallas
            AGUERO, SUAREZ, STURRIDGE

            Davis, Terry, B Davies, Puncheon

I'm not sure there's many others id want in there even if I used a WC....

true that is a nice team, unless yaya fires a couple of goals! (I finally gave in and bought him immediately before his cancelled game, but at least he came through last week)

I wouldn't really call kolarov a DGW player but at least you will probably get at least one start!

Yeah, Kolarov is the one DGW player I currently have that I probably wouldn't get if Wildcarding. And Yaya is probably the one player I'd get if WCing.

Not a huge difference though between the above team and what I would go for if WCing.

And I could then play the WC to load up on ARS, EVE, SWA, SUN etc for the later DGWs.

This probably all changes if more DGWs are moved to GW31 though.
