With Gameweek 30 all wrapped up, we turn our attentions to the stats that matter in the Sky game, including the Man of the Match (MoTM) awards, the bonus point beneficiaries and the current market trends. As always, we also look ahead to the forthcoming fixtures, offering our preferred captain setup for Gameweek 31.

Gameweek 30 Man of the Match Awards

Here’s a match-by-match breakdown of the players that won the plaudits from the Sky Sports reporters last time out, earning five additional points for the Man-of-the-Match award.

FixtureMoTM
West Brom vs Man UnitedMarouane Fellaini
Cardiff vs FulhamSteven Caulker
Crystal Palace vs SouthamptonLuke Shaw
Norwich vs StokeBradley Johnson
Chelsea vs TottenhamJohn Terry

From the five fixtures, defenders picked up three awards and midfielders grabbed the other two. Luke Shaw earned his third award of the season and John Terry was awarded his second to further strengthen his position at the top of the defender rankings. Eden Hazard still leads the way on nine MoTM awards in total.

Gameweek 30 Bonus Points

Two goalkeepers managed five saves or more this week – Maarten Stekelenburg and David Marshall were the men in form, Marshall has been averaging bonus every 166 minutes as he does his best to keep the opposition at bay. Vito Mannone, however, has been averaging bonus every 87.5 minutes and tops the bonus rankings with 18 additional points to his name.

In defence, a total of four players gathered bonus, all four managing four tackles or more – centre-back Brede Hangeland was the closest to earning points for both tackling and distribution, missing out by 14 completed passes. Angel Rangel and Chico are the top bonus-point earners with 22 extra points so far.

In midfield, eight players earned bonus points – seven for tackling and two for passes. Marouane Fellaini was the player to earn both to go with his MoTM award, earning him a tidy haul of 11 points. Morgan Schneiderlin and Yaya Toure are the top bonus earners with 36 additional points.

A reminder that Fantasy Football Scout members can access all the data regarding bonus points using player stats and clicking the Sky Sports tab.

The Transfer Trends

Top Transfers Out

NameTeamValue% of Managers
DawsonTottenham6.24.90%
AdamStoke4.94.67%
NegredoMan City8.64.60%
DaviesHull City4.54.21%
OzilArsenal8.83.52%

Michael Dawson’s recent injury sees him shipped by 4.9% and likewise Mesut Ozil picked up an injury in midweek forcing the hand of 3.52% of Fantasy managers. Charlie Adam’s stamping incident sees him banned for three games and so he finds himself surplus to requirements by 4.67%. Curtis Davies picked up a back injury in his last Premiership game but has since featured in the FA Cup and so looks likely to play this weekend. Alvaro Negredo’s stock continues to fall after a lack of form and first team opportunities.

Top Transfers In

NameTeamValue% of Managers
SterlingLiverpool4.86.76%
AgueroMan City9.85.37%
ShawSouthampton5.34.25%
LallanaSouthampton5.93.76%
SturridgeLiverpool9.23.76%

Liverpool and Southampton’s assets continue to see investment due to their strong form and good value, Raheem Sterling in particular looking a great option. There was a real blow for the 5.37% of Fantasy managers who brought in Sergio Aguero this week after he was ruled out of the trip to Hull by Manuel Pellegrini earlier today.

Gameweek 31 Proposed Captain Strategy

Looking ahead to the captaincy choices for Gameweek 31 we will have to settle for just two captains as there is no Monday night game this week.

Our Strategy:
Romeleu Lukaku (Cardiff at Home) → Luis Suarez (Man United Away)

For the fixtures on Saturday 15th, we’re backing Romeleu Lukaku to be in the points as Everton host Cardiff City – the Welsh outfit will surely have to go for a win, given their position in the league, leaving potential gaps at the back for the Belgian to exploit.

For Sunday the 16th a switch to Luis Suarez/Daniel Sturridge looks the best option. Although they face a recently resilient Manchester United defence at Old Trafford, it helps to set us up perfectly for Gameweek 32 as Liverpool travel to Cardiff City Stadium.

The Fantasy Football Scout League

Our own Fantasy Football Scout League is on top of the Private League rankings. With a £1000 prize to the winner, you’d be mad not to get involved. To join, visit Sky Sports Fantasy Football and key in League Name: FFScout, League Code: 8000112.

The Fantasy Football Club

This Friday The Fantasy Football Club show, where you can catch Fenners and Merse at 18:30 Skysports One HD where they will be discussing the previous week’s Fantasy Football events, quizzing former Aston Villa forward John Carew and asking him for his #One2Eleven.

Considering the DGW 31 and the DGW 34 how does this WC look?

    Mannone Adrian
    Baines Coleman Azpilicueta Dann Chester
    Yaya Hazard Silva AJ Sterling
    Suarez Sturridge Lukaku

0.1 in the bank so cant get Ward instead of Dann but pretty sure he is nailed on

Thanks.. Nolan was in my team instead of one of the big mids up until Aguero got injured and i got loads of cash to spend. Dont wanna waste a transfer on Nolan to AJ tbh.. and either way AJ has a good fixture this week and has a double too.. i could downgrade Sterling to a Palace mid and upgrade AJ i guess

I was all set on Gerarrd over Silva.. but there really is nobody to swap Sterling to who has anywhere near his potential below his price. Even puncheon is not as nailed on as i hoped. Hopin Ince nails down a spot so i can get him in for Sterling after the double. Silva is in there cause of his endless DGWs 🙂

There is one thing putting me off Rooney in GW36 now

he's on 8 yellows, only 2 more for a 2 game ban. Gotta hope he either

    a) gets 2 yellows so he's ready for GW36
    b) gets no more yellows
    c) waits until GW38 to get booked

      Snod.
i don't fancy Man Utd to do well.

Once Liverpool score 3 goals, rvp will give up, Rooney will get carded, Mata will try to do everything himself because he's a warrior.
LFC can't really shore up in defense, so maybe there will be an assist for Evra.

I have seen it in my fires.

Took my first 4 point hit in several weeks (Adebayor, Mata and Olsson to Lukaku, Yaya and Baines). Really liking the chances of this team to make that up over the next couple of weeks:

    Mannone
    Baines Coleman Terry Cahill
    Hazard Toure Lallana
    Suarez Sturridge Lukaku

    Adrian Sterling Ward Snodgrass

Have exactly enough money left over to swap Lallana to Nolan next week, then immediately swap them back after the double. Really hoping to crack the top 5000 overall. Now watch half the squad get injured this week.

I am SO set up to get this wong:

    Bench Snodgrass or Mirallas?

If I knew 100% Mirallas would start, I'd go Mirallas.

If I start Snodders and Mirallas winds up starting and goes berserk on Cardiff, I will kill myself.
If I start Mirallas and he gives me a 5 minute cameo while Snodders bags a brace, I will kill myself.

So I guess the question is, which is the best way to kill myself?

I'm starting Mirallas. So I guess you should have Snodgrass for a better score.

I've given the "Rooney in" thing a bit of thought. I would leave the decision on bringing Rooney in until Sunday evening. As I see it,
If he gets booked in the Liverpool game there must be a good chance Moyes rests him against West Ham to make sure he can play against City, possibly missing the best of the next three games.
If he's not booked then get him for the dbl.

agreed and the liverpool Utd will set up the final set of matches for united
If united win then they may try harder to get back into top 4
If united lose then their dreams of top 4 this season will be almost over

    Probably already been posted but..

"Is Manchester United Worth $1 Billion to Nike?"

    http://www.businessweek.com/articles/2014-03-11/is-manchester-united-worth-1-billion-to-nike

This all smells like the Glazers gearing up to sell the club at a ridiculous profit in a few years' time. (which I would be perfectly happy with)

They'll borrow the money to buy the club too.

Doesn't cost Nike anything. It's just another $1Billion they won't pay to the British tax man. Net cost a meal out for a tax official a hundred grand backhander and job for his kids and Hey Presto no tax bill and the Glazers get their bullion into the bargain.
