Newcastle suffer a double injury blow to Loic Remy and Mathieu Debuchy. Aaron Ramsey remains out for Arsenal. Kyle Walker and Sandro are doubts for Spurs. Victor Wanyama is a worry for Southampton. Craig Gardner and Wes Brown are available for Sunderland. West Brom’s injury list continues to grow, whilst Michu is back in full training for Swansea:

Alan Pardew was left reeling after both Loic Remy and Mathieu Debuchy were ruled out of Newcastle’s next three to four games with calf and groin injuries sustained on recent international duty. Fabricio Coloccini will return after missing the Hull victory due to a family bereavement.

Arsene Wenger has confirmed that Aaron Ramsey will miss the North London derby, despite earlier whispers that the Welshman would make his long-awaited return at the weekend. Ramsey is out for a couple of weeks, whilst Mesut Ozil is sidelined for three-to-six weeks with a hamstring injury. Nacho Monreal is available, though fellow left-back Kieran Gibbs is still a doubt. January signing Kim Kallstrom is finally injury-free and Yaya Sanogo “has a chance” of making the trip to Tottenham.

Sunderland boss Gus Poyet has a near fully-fit squad to choose from for the weekend, after confirming that Craig Gardner and Wes Brown have both resumed training. The pair missed last week’s loss to Hull with knocks but are in contention to face Palace at the weekend, as are Jozy Altidore and Valentin Roberge who have recovered from illness.

West Brom’s injury woes have worsened with Pepe Mel ruling Steven Reid, Claudio Yacob and Billy Jones out of the trip to Swansea at the weekend. The trio have knee and hamstring injuries respectively and join Chris Brunt and Diego Lugano on the sidelines.

Garry Monk could be boosted by the return of Michu following several weeks out through injury. The Spaniard is back in full training, with Monk set to make a decision on his involvement later today. Elsewhere, Pablo Hernandez is expected to feature after limping off against palace, with later scans revealing no significant damage. Jonjo Shelvey is unlikely to be involved following the recurrence of a hamstring problem, whilst Nathan Dyer remains a doubt with a bruised foot. Chico Flores will miss the game through suspension, meaning Jordi Amat will fill in ahead of the injured Kyle Bartley.

Alex Tettey is available for Norwich following an injury scare against Stoke last week. Michael Turner and Jonas Gutierrez remain sidelined for the Canaries, though the pair have returned to training following hamstring and calf injuries respectively.

West Ham have the luxury of an almost fully-fit squad to choose from, with Sam Allardyce confirming that Joey O’Brien and Marco Borriello are the club’s only injury absentees for the trip to the Britannia.

Tim Sherwood is sweating over the fitness of Kyle Walker and Sandro after both players were subbed off during last night’s Europa League defeat against Benfica.

Jack Cork has been ruled out for a few weeks with an ankle injury for Southampton, whilst Victor Wanyama is a doubt. Dejan Lovren was ill earlier in the week but “should be fine” to face Norwich.

All this and more has now been updated in the Team News section ahead of tomorrow’s deadline. Keep an eye on our official Twitter Stream as breaking news unfolds.

Fantasy Football Scout daily hot topic

Second half of the season form

In seasons gone by the likes of Baines, Benteke, Bale, Jelavic and PCisse have had strong second halves of the season. In some cases they were new to the Prem League in the January transfer window, in others their form improved.

Which players do you think will have a strong second half to the season in terms of form?

This is when the World Cup starts to have an effect (both positively for those chasing places, and negatively for those who are regulars and don't want to get hurt) on players' performances.

I think Lukaku has a massive point to prove to Chelsea and Belgium, whether he takes it or not is a different story.

With a lot of defences playing deeper, I'm looking at the players that can score at close range or with few chances. That would be the strikers with physical presence (e.g. Lukaka, Benteke and maybe Giroud, Ade and Dzeko) and the clinical finishers (e.g. Jelavic, RVP, possibly Lambert and Soldado)

Yup - I wouldn't fall over myself to get him in but he's less than 10 points behind RVP, Lukaku, Benteke etc...

The purpose of the discussion is to try and identify players who might be under-the-radar but come good in the remainder of the season. This time last year we both would have been just as cynical about Benteke...

I'm hoping Lukaku has a storming finish to the season as he can, both for FF points and to stir up the top of the Prem as Everton play a few top teams.
Kagawa if Moyes has the brains to use him in the right position and actually get the team to pass to him.

      Lukaku

And dare I say it RVP - today's headlines about him being comitted to the club and David Moyes have cleared the air for Robin. I believe that this along with Man Utd's upturn in form recently (in particular against West Brom) will have him firing on all cylinders again.

RVP has struggled this season, partly due to DM, partly due to the poor performance of the team and partly due to uncertainty about the whole situation. That uncertainty is gone now. I may not be until the City game is out the way but I reckon RVP is going to be banging in the goals again before the end of the season on a consistent basis. You heard it here first

Yeah, the thing that made me choose Lukaku over Rooney is the fact that Everton have better DGW fixtures, which is the reason I was looking at both of these players, and Man United have a possible blank GW34. Also, Lukaku's got 10 goals and Rooney has 11 goals and Rooney has played a lot more minutes, I know Rooney has a lot more assists than Lukaku, but I reckon that Lukaku would've been able to have about 10 or 11 assists if he played the same number of minutes as Rooney.

Just some stats to sway you over to Lukaku. 😆

He's away though and you really never know with Villa, that could easily be 0-1 with Terry getting a goal or something like that, or Hazard could just go crazy out of nowhere like he tends to do from time to time.

          The way I see hazard is there's a 75% chance he'll get 3 points, and a 25% chance he'll get 10+ haha

Can't argue with Lukaku at home against Cardiff of all teams..

Suarez or Lukaku is my big dilemma - Logic would surely say Lukaku at home to Cardiff has better prospects than Suarez away to Man U. I'm reticent though because Suarez has such high ownership (and likely Captain-ship) that if he does score a load and Lukaku blanks it could be disastrous.

The only one that really matters there is Remy.

Pardew is a mediocre manager and dependent more on the form of his players than his tactical nous.

Debuchy is a good player but ultimatley is not the one who lifts the team like Remy.

Yeah, main 2 questions are "Ward or Collins" and "Mata or Ox"

I think Mata is doing nothing recently for Man United was thinking of just using him for next weeks game week and using Ox this weekend...

Ward > Collins unless James gets a goal.

The second one had me thinking for a second.. Nobody knows how united-liverpool will go..

Plus points for Mata: Better player and playing at home against a crap defence but it could be a rare low scoring game..

Plus points for Ox: NLDs are always fairly crazy and Ox could do well..

          Leaning towards Mata.

      Why wouldn't people?

Lukaku/Rooney offer people an easy exit strategy, with the former offering a lot more cash for midfield too.

Even if Aguero is back firing in 2 weeks, these two weeks are crucial and I don't want a glass broken hamstring worth 12.1m anywhere near my squad.. For now.

not so sure - dzeko scored 4 and assisted 2 in GWs 19-23, but then nothin in 3GWs. But he'll have to get his chances now that the other strikers are doubts/out of form. He could be a decent punt now that everyone's getting Lukaku

Boruc for me, Norwich just can't score at the moment and Southampton are more solid than Sunderland.

Mannone might get save points but Boruc has more CS potential imo.

Double gameweek punts. The template looks so blindingly obvious and restricted with Remy and Aguero likely out meaning Yaya, Hazard Suarez, Sturridge, Lukaku will be in most teams add to that the likes of Adam Johnson, Sterling, Gerrard, Coleman/Baines, Adrian, Mannone and it's looking more templatey than normal.

So anybody going for a different option?
A punt on Coutinho tickle anybodies pickle? A Fellaini headed special? A slice of Januzaj pie?

I think the template is punt-ish already though..

AJ is hardly guaranteed points, neither is Lukaku, or Sterling..

A lot of people have Nola too who is also a bit of a punt.
We're all just taking the same punts..

Maybe Carroll. Can't afford Sturridge so need to think outside the box.

Or go crawling back to Negredo, he'll score a hatrick at home at some point.
