in GW 1 I put Ricky Van Wolfswinkel into my team, based on the fact that he was very cheap, had done very well in the championship the previous season, but MAINLY because of the name.
I am still a little sad that he didn't yet turn into a good PL player as its a great name to be screamed out in delight by a commentator, at least I imagine it is, because I have never heard a commentator scream it out in delight.

Remember analysing him , bony and a few others that had fantastic stats in other leagues , conclusion was stats from the dutch league cannot be trusted.
Bony starting to look ok, but it took him half the season to make the adjustment.

Losing Hazard for Silva was a tricky decision and risk was the first thing on my mind. End of the day there were a lot of factors involved and weighing them all up I judged Silva to come out on top, in order, the 3 extra games at the time, Pellegrini attacking much more than Mourinho, Chelsea having at least 2 CL games coming up, and what I saw as extra marking of Hazard in the games since his hattrick. It could all go badly wrong if Hazard is allowed to go free in the good games coming up, but lol, it's fun finding out.

I did plan escape routes too. Down the line I could upgrade Mirallas to Hazard and downgrade Rooney to a sub 9m, or if Yaya finally stopped being Yaya, upgrade him straight to Hazard.

Yeah the fixtures do look good on paper - I expect Chelsea to batter Stoke and maybe Sunderland. The away games could be low scoring affairs. Chelsea only average something like 1.53 goals per game away and cpl and swa are difficult places to travel to.
2.44 goals per game at home is considerably better though still below Liverpool and City's averages even when they include away games.

Cheers. Realistically it's a long shot - you need more and more points to get the same gain in rank - but obviously aiming as high as possible. I've been going with gut since the GW23 wildcard and you can see it's given the me the extra push. I usually get stronger as the season goes on. I think I'm so wary of bandwagons that I often don't jump on in time, but as I get more information I make better decisions. Maybe.

My goal at the start of the season was to finish in the top 10k and fingers crossed it's on. If I did that, I could demonstrate improvement every season since I started which is the main thing for me. Try everything, learn as much as possible, succeed harder than I fail.
