Cheeky Dogba. I'm down by 9 goals after 1 leg and next week it's his Baines, Azpi, Chester/Dann, Silva vs my Evra, Ivan, Kolarov, Gerrard. That's pre trannies. Gonna be hard to make up the diff with such similar teams

    AN INTERESTING OBSERVATION----

After DGW most top ranked teams look almost exactly the same. Seems like getting the captain correct this week will be incredibly huge in H2H or last man standing competitions.

There should be a season long H2H competition for everyone on FFS next season. Or was there one already this season? (my first time playing)

We used to have massive H2H leagues with promotion and relegation etc. Was just too much work with too little time for Andy

That sounds like a lot of fun. I personally find H2H more exciting than classic over the whole length of the season. It's kinds of like a cup competition only with room for a few stumbles along the way.

Head to head blows. Sorry.....it just does. No point to it really when FPL is more of a marathon than a sprint. It's a somewhat empty concept and competition. Hate the H2H leagues.

In my mind, the concept only works if you get unlimited trades week in and week out. Otherwise, it kind of goes against the concept of FPL in general.

The concept of Fpl is to get the most points every week. H2H utilizes this concept perfectly. I you haven't noticed luck is a big aspect of FPL in general be that H2H, OR rank or classic. Sorry if your past experiences with H2h left you scarred

I will give you an example of why H2H leagues have their merit. Say youve been completely on a roll for 5 weeks. You moved into 80K from say 800k. In this time you accumulated 5 H2H wins, placing you top of your league. Next week you have an atrocious week, so your OR gets dropped by 100k places, so you have to start clawing your way back up. In H2H you only lost 3 points and have an easier chance of remaining closer to the top.

Now, which system showcases your skill of Fpl better OR(classic) or H2H? There isn't a clear answer, bun outright dismissing one is definitely not it.

Willian is overrated.....at least as far as to how he fits in with Chelsea. I've watched all the games, and I have yet to be impressed with him. Sure, he does something good here and there and has contributed to some degree, but that's what any player should or would do. Would much rather prefer seeing Schurrle get the starts ahead of him.

Willian almost seems like his mind is somewhere else when he's playing. Schurrle is there and in the moment. His finishing is way better than Willian's, and generally speaking, he's simply more valuable to CFC than Willian. That's my take anyways.

I think he was intended to be more offensive than defensive. Either way, I'm not impressed. Seriously.......anyone on this site.......has he impressed you enough to think he should start ahead of Schurrle? If you answer yes, then I'm watching an entirely different player than you.........

I figured you were of like mind. I was speaking more to the general populace in regards to Willian. Simply put, Schurrle brings more to the table. Willian shoots about as well as a donkey with no legs.

Of course they are different. That's not the topic per se. The point for me is that Schurrle is just a better fit in the Chelsea side. Willian.....not so much........

Morning geezers. It's time to clear up the DGW mess.

    What would you recommend?

    Mannone
    Baines Terry Coleman
    Yaya Hazard Johnson Sterling
    Lukaku Sturridge Suárez

    Subs: Adrián Sissoko Chester Dann

    Bank - 0.7
    2FTs

    A) Sissoko > Mutch and play over Sterling
    B) A and Baines > Komp
    C) Any other move?

Thinking I'll give AJ one more week against a motivation-less Ham side.

I had two choices to make
    a)YAYA + Skrtel
    b)Gerrard + Kompany

went with B and still not a yaya owner this season.(have silva instead,150 pts nevertheless)

    So this week's decision:
    a) Kosc out for sure ,replacement either Cahill/Azpi
    b) Mirallas/Silva/Gerrard - Is there any need to replace them ?If yes then who's the first one to kick out .

I currently have a template team with Ivanovic, Coleman, Zaba/Kos, Yaya, Haz, L'pool-mid, Sas & Lukaku. It looks like my only "differential" is Mata.

With everyone's teams being so similar, and all captaining Suarez, what's a good way to improve your rank ? I like to think I always have improvements figured out, but my only plan right now is to draft in Baines+ a City attacker(Nasri/Silva/Kun) for GW34. However that's not going to get me anywhere in a hurry.

Is the fpl season 2013/'14 dead already ?

The concept of 'differentials' gets warped by spending time on this site where, inevitably, people have very similar teams. The reality is that the Scout represents a small percentage of FPL players, and that team you list can definitely send you up the rankings if it performs. I got a massive rise this week from inside the top 10k with a team as 'template' as you could imagine.

I agree about the "differentials" bit.. But I've been looking at smartypants ownership breakdown in the top 10k and it looks like I have the highest owned 11, except for Mata.. My rank has been roughly unchanged in 2014 and everything just seems a bit vanilla

I'm just looking for a way forward without breaking my team, and thought I'll ask around if people are feeling the same..

Trick with differentials is to do it slowly. You just need one player that few people have to make that difference.
Dont start throwing out Suarez etc , will just end in tears. Baines is a good one i think. Could bag a hattrick and a clean sheet in same match (unlikely but possible)

A few years ago Hangeland took me from 10,000 into the top 1000 during last few weeks of season.
        Another year it was Asso-Ekotto
It dosent take much , just need a bit of luck

Up to 45k now and trying to sneak into the top 10k by season's end.

Need some opinions for next week:

    Mannone Adrian
    Baines Ivan Kos Chester Ward
    Haz Yaya Gerrard Snoddy Noone
    Suarez Sturridge Lukaku

    1 FT, Bank: 0.3

    A) Kos > Azpi (plan to ship Ivan for Kompany for DGW)
    B) Save and play Chester(away to Stoke) -will Chester keep his place in starting XI after that OG?

Yeah the thing is I only have 5.8 to spend on Kos replacement (or I'd go for Komps straight away).

So you recommend saving transfer or doubling on Chelsea defence?

Saving means playing Ward(CHE) or Chester(stk)(who may be dropped)

Ive got almost that same back line (coleman /cahill for baines/ivan) and am saving and playing chester
Azpi could easily get the cleansheet this week but i think transfers are worth saving ready for next DGW, especially if aguero stakes a claim as you will want to give yourself the flexibility to go hard and get him in if you serious about catching 60 points to hit top 10k

Well i think template is good.Protects you.But i think at this late stage of the competition the best way to chase points is by loading up on the right players for the DGWs..and trying to get your captaincy right.imo this is not the time to go differential. Best differential i can come up with is Eriksen. But that is at your own risk.

I dont like dzeko when aguero fit, too much rotation, but that may never happen so no point changing now
